WOMAN ATTENDS UN CONFERENCE

07 September 2006

A Young woman who works in East Grinstead has returned from a trip to
the United Nations headquarters in New York for a conference on human
rights.

Carina Wilson, 20, who works as community affairs director at the
Church of Scientology in Saint Hill, said she would like to see more
young people educated as to their human rights.

Taking the UN declaration of human rights as its source material, a
film to explain to young people the 30 basic rights set out in the
document was shown at a free concert in Union Square Park the day after
the conference on August 25.

Carina said she hopes to use this film and other material from the
conference to educate young people in the area.

The Church of Scientology International human rights department was
involved in organising the conference, along with three other
organisations.

In other words Carina Wilson stood out front at the UN building in NYC with
a sign, shrieking "anti-psych" dribble.

Welcome to the new version of the NarCONon-style method for infiltrating
schools.

I doubt if they spent the cash on it. I say she did a picket.

Hey Neil,

Was that a letter to the editor? I didn't see any journalist's byline
or anybody's name attached to it. Did I miss it?

The name....Carina Wilson and a human rights film sounded familiar so I
did a google search. She has released quite a few press
releases......so I was wondering if this or the info it contains was
picked up from one of SCN's press releases.

"Carina Wilson", Scientology - Google Search
http://www.google.com/search?q=%22Carina+Wilson%22,+Scientology&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&start=0&sa=N

Could this be the film Wilson is promoting in that piece? If so, it
appears to have been around for two years.

Oscar Qualifying Human Rights Video "UNITED" Wins Award

Published on: January 27th, 2006 12:33pm

by: Carina Wilson

(OPENPRESS) January 28, 2006 -- The "Grand Award of the Organization
Committee and Director of the Festival for Humanitarianism in the
Global World" and the honorary medal, "Partners for a Human World" were
awarded to UNITED and to Youth for Human Rights International for
"Talented and Effective Interpretation of the Topic of Violence Against
Children and the Necessity of Human Solidarity in Action."

The award ceremony was led by Mr. Georgi Naydenov, Director of the Film
Festival, and by Dimitar Sotirov, Executive Director of Bulgarian Media
Coalition, who presented Mr. Weightman with the awards.

"I am very proud and particularly happy to receive this prestigious
award in Sofia. I consider it the start of a broader human rights
education campaign for the Bulgarian youth," stated Martin Weightman.
The Human Rights Department of the Church of Scientology International
is ready to launch this campaign in this country and to cooperate with
the local authorities and like-minded organisations to make it happen.

This new award is the last one of an incredible series. It has been
officially selected by twenty film festivals around the world and has
won four awards: the Spirit of Moondance award at the Moondance
Festival in Colorado; Best Human Rights Film at the Taglia Corto Human
Rights Film Festival in Florence (which is co-organised by UNESCO);
Honorary Youth Film Maker and Best Family Film, short awards from the
Big Bear Film Festival in California; and the Prestigious Grand Jury
Award for Best Short Film at the New York Independent Film Festival in
New York. More recently it has been officially named as an Academy
Award Qualifier.

UNITED is the centrepiece of the Human Rights Education Campaign
launched last year by Youth for Human Rights International, in
conjunction with the Church of Scientology International Human Rights
Department. As inferred by the title of the music video, the campaign
is grounded in the belief that by acting in a united fashion, young
people can make a difference and create a better world.

It was first shown inside the United Nations Headquarters in New York
in August 2004, where it earned praise from the Deputy Director of the
New York Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights as a huge
step forward for human rights education.

UNITED is airing currently on various international TV stations. It can
also be viewed at any Church of Scientology. Go to
www.scientology.org/world/worldeng/global/earthc.htm to find the
location of your nearest church.

You didn't. It's from a 'free' newspaper chain that includes the 'East
Grinstead Courier', and they are publishing CoS press releases. Useful,
but not journalism.

Hi Tigger,

Carina Wilson is a 20-year-old Sea Org staffer, from Advanced
Organisation Saint Hill. She's very low on the bridge, but still
utterly brainwashed.

The video she's peddling to unsuspecting dupes in and around the United
Nations HQ, New York City, is the newly produced bundle of 30 Public
Service Announcements.
