The Church of Scientology returned to criminal court ("correctionnelle") for
"fraud in organized gang "

PARIS, September 8, 2008 (AFP) - The Church of Scientology is referred to
the Correctional Tribunal of Paris for "fraud in an organized gang", it was
learned Monday source close to the case.

The judge Jean-Christophe Hullin Monday signed an order referring Spiritual
Association of the Church of Scientology (ASES-Celebrity centre)

Most important structure of the association in France and its library, the
SARL SEL, for "fraud in an organized gang."

The condemnation of the Church of Scientology for this head could lead to
the dissolution of the two structures put in question, according to a source
close to the folder.

Seven Scientologists, including Alain Rosenberg, general manager of
Celebrity center, are also prosecuted some for "illegal practice of
pharmacy. "

The magistrate went to requisition against the advice of the prosecutors who
had required September 4, 2006 a relaxation for all respondents, thinking
there were nosufficient criminal charges.

This is a great victory, the judge had the courage to sweep the complacent
attitude of prosecutors with respect to Scientology, "said Me Olivier
Morice, a lawyer for the complainants.

"The attitude of the prosecutor can only call on the possible taking
consideration of political motivation in the judicial treatment Parisian
records of Scientology, he added.
The case began in December 1998 a criminal and civil complaint of a woman
believed to have been defrauded by the Church of Scientology.

A source few months earlier in Paris, the Opera metro, by Scientologists
for a free personality test she had spent the final more than 200,000
francs for courses, purchase of books, medicines and and a "electrometer,"
electrical device designed to measure changes in the mental state of the
person by major changes
of electrical resistance.

Another complainant and the order of pharmacists are then formed a civil
party in this case.

and the editorial:

That's all in today's paper (I'm getting that!).

Favourite quote (from the charge sheet):

"L?on voit donc que l?absence de toute rationalité dans la profession
scientologue est compensée par une grande rationalité des finances, autour
d?une recherche du profit optimal stimulée par l?assurance pour les
officiers traitant de la scientologie d?un gain personnel, calculé au
pourcentage des sommes versées par leurs étudiants"

So, we see that the absence of any rationality in the scientology faith is
compensated by a great rationality in the finances, organised around a
search for maximum profit stimulated by assurances to the scientology
officers of personal gain calculated as a percentage of the sums spent by
their students."

Pretty much, yeah :-)

Mwahahahahaaa!

Best Regards

Jens

It's this 17.5% commission thing that can really bite them in the ass
when they least want it.
