1. No info yet on the New Mexico Dept. of Education's actions with
respect to Mace-Kingsley Ranch. Sorry.
2. Questions for the "graduate" of the Hanks Ranch:
Q1: Were both parents Scientologists?
A: Both parents were sceintologists. Dad is declared, mom is still
in. I have spoken to my mother once or twice since she disconnected
from me 10 years ago.
Q2: Did both parents think it was a good idea to send you to the "ranch"?
A: Both were very supportive of it.
Q3: What is their opinion of the "ranch" now?
A: A waste of time, a waste of money. Very detrimental to the
psychological and educational developement of young people. A place
where lazy parents rely on Lron to take care of their kids.
Q4: Was this "ranch" treatment, education, whatever....tax deductible?
A: No idea.
3. Regarding Mr. Wally Hanks:
From the Hanks Ranch graduate:
Q: There have been allegations that Wally Hanks molested some of the
kids. Have you heard anything about that?
A: I never saw or heard any of that while I was there. I really
question Astra Woodcrafts credibility. Wally isn't stupid, and if he
was fondling girls, he certainly wouldn't have done it in front of
visitors. The only thing I can say about wally and the girls that
were there, is that he was adamantly against any boys getting mixed
up with the girls, he would really go nuts about it if he caught
wind of anything going on.
On the other hand, when I asked the Anonymous Ranch Hands, one said:
Q: What can you tell me about Wally Hanks? There have been
accusations that he molested some of the kids.
A: I've heard from others that he molested children as well, but it's
all second hand data since I've never met him and don't know of any
first hand facts. I've heard from several students that he used to
beat them with an implement he called "the paddle of justice."
Note that paddling by Hanks was reported in Jane Scott's story about
her son's time at Mace-Kingsley. Also, while most of the molestation
reports are secondhand, there is a firsthand report by Astra Woodcraft
about her being molested at Mace-Kingsley when she was 13:

No wonder Scientology hates the Internet.

Others have been beaten too.
The person with which I'm currently discussing/interviewing had tried to
leave the ranch and menaced her auditor to go to the police because his
human rights were not respected.
The "auditor" has then boxed him three to four times on the face, violently,
and the person went back to the ranch by fear of more beating.
That auditor was an israelian guy.
