Dr. Gene Denk carefully stage-managed the death of L. Ron Hubbard
between January 17 and January 24, 1986, tending to the medical details
during that time. Dr. Denk had been Hubbard’s physician since 1978.
Following the death, Denk provided blood samples, fingerprints and
photographs to county officials to receive permission to cremate
Hubbard’s body.

For many years, Rachel Denk was the administrator of Hubbard’s Writers
of the Future Context. “I think that I have the best job anyone could
have” said Rachel Denk. “I get to be Santa Claus, calling new writers
all around the world every three months to tell them they’ve won. Talk
about making someone’s day!”

Gene F. Denk and Rachel J. Denk own a home at 3996 Clayton Avenue, Los
Angeles, California 90027. Their mailing address has been P.O. Box
27726, Los Angeles, California 90027. They purchased the property on
January 20, 1978 for $100,000. In 1998, the total assessed value was
$147,565; in 1997, the total assessed value was $141,836; in 1996, the
assessed value was $139,056, while in 1995, the total assessed value was
$137,531. The house was built in 1962, and has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths,
the house has 1680 square feet, on a lot size of 5236 square feet.

Rachel and Gene Denk also own a home at 2100 Palo Verde Boulevard South,
Lake Havasu City, Arizona. They bought the property on June 29, 1987
for $64,900. The total assessed market value of the property in 1998 is
$65,324, and the total assessed market value of the property in 1995 was
$66,366. They paid $779.72 in property taxes for tax year 1998. The
house was built in 1979, and has 1325 square feet of building on a
13,2000 square foot lot.

Gene and Rachel Denk also own property at 1781 Rio Grande Road, Bullhead
City, Arizona. They bought the property on April 19, 1990 for $45,000.
The market value of the property was assessed at $34,247 in 1998, but
$34,436 in 1995. It is a lot to be subdivided for mobile homes. They
paid $358.74 in taxes on this property for tax year 1998.

They also own, together with Stephen and Peggy Price, a Professional
Office Building property at 5336 Fountain Avenue, Los Angeles,
California 90029. They bought the property on March 24, 1988 in an
interspousal transfer. The total assessed value in 1998 was $622,045,
the land being $264,699 and the improvement being $357,346. The total
assessed value in 1996 was $586,170, and the total assessed value in
1995 was $579,736. This building, built in 1964, is large, being 4740
square feet on a lot of 9365 square feet.

Gene and Rachel Denk also own, toether with James F. White and Xochitl
H. White (a married couple), a property at 7129 Hillrose Stret in
Tujunga, California 91042. They bought the property on May 26, 1994
for $154,000, even though the prior sale price in 1993 was $206,000!
They took out a 15 year mortage from BrooksAmerica Mortgage for
$123,200. This is a series of vacant lots, probably, which were bought
from Dawn Company, Inc. For one lot, the total assessed land value for
1998 is $21,713, while the assessed value in 1995 was $20,238. The
total lot size is 2278 square feet. Another lot has 1141 square feet.
Another lot has 5079 square feet and includes a house built in 1924 with
1732 square feet of building area, 4 bedrooms and two baths. The total
value with improvement value on an adjoining lot for 1998 is $134,631.
The total assessed value for 1995 on the lot with the house is $135,594.

member? Getting those from cash reserves? haha, the thief hubbie was
