Page 165 and beyond, "Suppressive Groups." There is a lot of Churches
in that list... I don't know, that kind of strike me as religious
bigotry...
Thankyou for reposting these.
I had most of them, and I relayed this doc to media contacts.
It is always the case that Scientology has the option to follow these
policies, and for sure, the hundred or so staff in Los Angeles in
Office of Special Affairs still do these actively.
I think it a seperate study/report/chapter/book ought to be done on
the history of the Office of Special Affairs and the Guardians Office.
My vote is for Mike Rinder to do the history in the years to come.

Catholic Apostolic Church comes to mind.
The list of goups is large (and quite telling), but the list of individuals
is enormous. It makes me wonder how many hundreds of stories we haven't
heard.
Pages 29 and 30 prove a criminal conspiracy to defame a psychiatrist.

That was quite the interesting read...
Hilary is Hilary Rockl, long time ex GO veteran, the one who together
with Ray Rockl used to be GO vets.
The ex GO people still working their Hubbard training on their
"enemies."
My current hobby horse is OSA NW Order 15 on Black Propaganda, it just
is a bread and butter piece of "tech" used all the time by
Scientologists and their volunteers:
OFFICE OF SPECIAL AFFAIRS NETWORK ORDER
OSA NW ORDER 15
18 February 1988
(Originally written by LRH on 12 January 1972...)
Confidential
BLACK PROPAGANDA
....."What is being attempted by black propagandists is to classify us
firmly in the public mind by constant repetition of certain words like
'cult.' The more we let such propagandists do this, the more chance
we give them, the more opportunity they have."
..."So this is their one trick.
"To cancel an enemy's chief weapon is in itself a part of victory.
"To cease to be the effect of classification and become in our turn
the cause of it, the classifier, is to win the propaganda game.
"Our propaganda is dirty but it is not black because it is true.
Black propaganda is essentially false.
"We do this trick by survey and attack. As what is attacked is
already popularly evil, we become re-classified as attackers and the
enemy as bad hats as they're for the evil if they attack us."
....."We just run propaganda campaigns.
"The objective is to be identified as attackers of popularly
considered evils. This de-classifies us from former labels. It re-
classifies our attackers as evil people. Which they are."
...."So we
"(1) Seek to avoid opportunities for the enemy to classify us.
"(2) contest or expose any previous classifications as false (dead
agentry, etc.)
"(3) Engage in a series of campaigns which confuse past
classification.
"(4) Achieve for ourselves a dominance in classifying ourselves and
others."

Ron on a good day, very Machiavellian! The trick is to look at the logic
without attempting to refute it. You can't know your enemy by just
repeating that he sucks.
> ....."What is being attempted by black propagandists is to classify us

So there you are. John Sweeney was unknowingly pressing that button, at
least for Tommy and Mike Rinder who don't understand LRH but do pick up on
words.
> "The objective is to be identified as attackers of popularly
> considered evils. This de-classifies us from former labels. It re-
> classifies our attackers as evil people. Which they are."
"We are opposed to illegal drugs, you oppose us, *therefore* you are in
favour of illegal drugs."
And it's more insidious version:
"We are opposed to illegal drugs, you are opposed to illegal drugs, can we
come and tell lies about illegal drugs to your children?"
> "(1) Seek to avoid opportunities for the enemy to classify us.
Keep at it folks! Call it a cult. Put the word 'cult' into every leaflet
and public statement about the CoS at least once. Say it at least once in
every media interview. If the media won't do this, make them come half way
and stop calling it a 'Church'. Give 'Church' back to the Christians.
> "(2) contest or expose any previous classifications as false (dead
> agentry, etc.)
The CoS is a cult. It fits the modern definition.
> "(3) Engage in a series of campaigns which confuse past
> classification.
"Religious experts say..." Religious experts are being selectively
dishonest. If they aren't prepared to discuss the cult, they should shut
up about the religion.
> "(4) Achieve for ourselves a dominance in classifying ourselves and
> others."
"We are the Authorities". Yeah. Right. Like drug addicts are experts on
drugs, racists are experts on races, and paedophiles are experts on
children. And democrats.org or gop.com are going to give you all the
facts.

I am printing some copies and am distributing them to local politicians.
I think it is smart to use Lorne Dawson's "established cult" label.
Here's a photo of Lorne L. Dawson and his book "Comprehending Cults"
and below is an all time relevant quote from it regarding Scientology
fitting into the category of an 'established cult.'
http://www.arts.uwaterloo.ca/arts/ugrad/profiles_professors/dawson.html
From "Comprehending Cults",LorneL.Dawson, Oxford Univ Press, 1998,
p31-32.
"...most of the cults studied in any depth during the recent
controversy about NRMs [New Religious Movements] are actually
atypical. Scienotlogy, Krishna Consciousness, and the Unification
Church, for example, are relatively long-lived and relatively large.
Accordingly, many of their features are rather sect-like. They are
more highly organized and are more ideologically and practically
sophisticated in their relations with the larger world. And except
in
the case of the Unificiation Church, they have managed to survive the
death of their charismatic leader. Originally, though, each of these
groups displayed markedly the traits of a cult. Moreover, they
continue to display many cult-like attitutdes and practices, such as
the emphasis on esoteric teachings and the satisfaction of individual
needs. Perhaps, then, yet another category should be added to the
church-sect typology, that of 'established cult'."
Thanks to you and Frank. Very pertinent stuff in there :)

Am I the only one that sees pages 30 and 31 as very damaging to OSA?
