Beware logging on to this "XSO"-chat group, this is likely just another
trap from OSA to track you back, to find out about your identity, and
find out about who is looking to contact "ex" - scientologists, most of
whom are in fact nothing else but phony critics and phony "ex"'s, most
of them are still working for scientology.

I have learned, that there are officially OSA-posters there. But be
aware of the ones who call themselves "XSO" (Ex-Sea Orger) as well. I
can imagine that they have put up this group a similar way and for
similar reasons like they run ars, this newsgroup.

Their (OSA) goal is, to find out about you, if you really left
scientology, most likely, where you are now. They will do it this way,
I can imagine, although I have never been in this group: but there will
be different posters, ones, who admit openly that they are OSA and
others who claim, that they are ex-sea-org. To convince you of those
"X"'s that they really are out of scientology, the "x" will argue with
the OSA and the "x" will likely put lots of blames on them and on
scientology in general and most likely will he say things, you would
say as well. They are what is called "phony xso" like there are phony
critics on ars (this newsgroup). That will last a while until you get
more and more convinced that the "x" is really an "x" and dislikes
scientology like you do. He will then offer you contactship. First he
will try to get it from you the usual way: lets talk on the phone, call
me, write me an eMail, things like that. Once you private message with
him, he willsurround you more and more with his questions and probably
ask you "don't you trust me? Me, who has suffered a lot when I left Sea
Org and I did this and that for guys like you", until he knows
everything from you, he wants. If you hesitate to contact him, he will
not give up. He will say things like that: "Media is interested in
contacting x-sea orgers. Just give me a call, and I will connect you".
Or "someone wants to write a book about x-sea org and needs
information". He will promise anything you want - that he will keep
any information you give him, safe and that you will not be mentioned
if you don't want.

Very likely there is no author in his back at all, only some curious
scientologists eager to pull you back into their weird world.

Know, that this is very likely the one and only purpose of that
creepy-sounding "XSO" group.

.Lily.
