Here is a an open letter which I have sent to Andreas Heildal Lund per
E-Mail:

QUOTE
Andreas,

OK you banned ARC_Triangle from OCMB, but with regard to the reason why

I came back under a new nic, what have you done with regard to the
violations of your so exalted "Rules of Conduct" with regard to Terril?

If you take a look at the thread, "Tech outside the CoS" and you want
to uphold what you said on XenuTV when you were in the USA, then excuse

me if I find that there is a slight discrepancy.

If you do not want to redress it, then I can invent a lot of different
personas to hold a mirror up to your statements, until you do.

Terril is an honourable person. We asked him about four years ago to
not post "wins" all over the place, but to confine it to his own
thread(s).

He did and has done so.

Condoning the abuse that Terril has had to endure on "Tech outside the
COS", makes you (with regard to your spouting of the "FAQ") an
hypocrite.

With no regard to you whatsoever

Like most "nobility" and the inbred "quality" of their heritage, you do
have that retarded thirteen-year-old sound to your arguments.

If your conception of yourself is as, "a whiny douche bag", and you
project this onto others, then you really are more to be pitied than
scolded.

Your ego obviously far outstrips your intellectual potential (I would
have said intellectual ability, but obviously you have very little of
that).

Just retreat into your little tin-foil hat, and feel secure in the
fallacies of your own making.

Maybe so, but Nec has a valid point in that the standards on that site are
not equally applied or enforced.

But, as I said before, this kind of thing is subject to interpretation and
subjective impression (as are all things in life) and it's never gonna be
perfect.

You are not seeing the larger picture here (and "Lord Xenu" most
certainly is not).

If you look into my past posts on OCMB (well over 2000 of them) then
you will see that any time the banning of a poster has come up, I have
completely opposed it.

As I argued then and have continued to argue, it is a slippery slope,
and once the precedent has been set, then you will get the next poster
trying to shift the goalposts to an even more trivial reason for
banning another poster until the self-immolation of an MB as a viable
vehicle for not only expressing critical opinion, but also as a meeting
place where views can be openly exchanged will have been subverted.

When you start using the same methods as those you oppose, then you
become the same filth, no matter how "high" you ideals or convictions
are, that you are "fighting for the right cause".

You see how "Lord Xenu" tries to use exactly the same tactics of black
PR which he decries in OSA. That makes him the same kind of filth as
OSA. He pulls it out of his ass, and then tries to use a sympathetic
audience to marginalise. The only thing is that I have been playing
this game far too long. By acting like filth "Lord Xenu" and Fred Durks
become filth.

OSA's work does not have to be done on ARS or OCMB, the partisan
posters are creating exactly the same environment of intimidation and
discrimination that enhances and advances the "moral" position of Co$
who can point to ARS and OCMB and beat their chest in faux dismay.

My position has always been that critical debate ends where censorship
begins. Disconnection is the ultimate resort of this censorship and
diminishes those who have not yet been purged in that environment where
they have condoned such censorship.

The question which then has to be asked is, "Who is next?"

Who will be the next person to fall victim to the "Not one of us"
mentality?

Who will be the curator(s) of the gallery (or tribunal) with regard to
determining the legitimacy of "Being one of us"?

When this kind of environment is allowed to flourish then no matter how
high the initial ideals, only filth remains.

Private message boards are different from usenet. Someone owns the darn
thing and has to put up with the heat. Since you, the user, aren't the
one running it, and having to moderate it, you needn't expect that the
actions taken will conform with how you would prefer things to be.

Realpch,

Any MB is an open MB - that is the nature of the beast.

With regard to a "private MB", well that all depends on how willing one
is to either draw the garrotte around the throat of an individual
poster as the "owner" or how willing that "owner" is to turning a blind
eye when the garrotte is applied.

Andreas tries to uphold the pretence of "open debate" whilst it is
being stifled in his name.

I told Andreas publicly and privately to fuck off on a matter of
principle, which I have documented above. You are correct inasmuch as
you say that it is his ball, and he can go home with it any time he
wants. However if he put the ball into play, then he cannot complain
when the other players kick the ball and it doesn't roll the way he
dictates.

If you know anything about soccer then you will know that there is a
big difference between a "foul" and taking a "dive".

All I would need to do to get back into Andreas's good graces is by
apologising and "realising" my "mistakes". Well that is not going to
happen any time, "real soon now".

Why is that?

Simply because the main accuser, namely Don_Carlo, had to publicly
retract his drivel, before Andreas (having been nudged in the direction
via E-Mail) picked up on an already done and dusted theme.

The rest, as the saying goes, is history.

I don't follow. You have to register for that board, there's a TOS, and
your participation can be suspended.

Uh huh. Well, if what I've seen on my few visits over there is par for
the course, and I were the owner, I'd shut the whole thing down. I can't
imagine how irritating it must be to put up that forum, and have people
misbehaving in it. It would be like a rowdy party in your own living
room. I doubt Andreas reads all the posts there. I suspect that he
responds on the basis of the annoying emails he must receive daily about
matters on the board.

Well, as I've pointed out before, that's an excellent way to get your
butt tossed. If you go to a party in someone's home and someone is
behaving like a jerk, is that how you deal with your host when
addressing the problem?

You don't have to "realize your mistakes". Probably all you'd have to do
is to is to apologize for the way you handled it. Or you know, there's
always the classic "vote with your hat" move...put it on and leave. You
could start your own forum.

that you "don't know" is pretty obvious.

You have never been a NetAdmin, let alone a moderator of a little MB.

You have the, "confidence of ignorance" because you essentially have no
idea of what you are talking about.

When I criticise Andreas, I do so out of personal experience, and when
I say that he is doing a piss-poor job then it is again based on
experience that far exceeds Andreas's limited IT perspective.

Where you make the mistake is that you think that my criticisms are
motivated by the banning of myself as a poster on OCMB.

I stuck it out there for a lot longer than Merlin for example (who I
know personally). Not to betray confidences but Merlin threw his role
as moderator down in disgust. With him gone, OCMB has become a
quagmire.

I know more of the internal workings of OCMB than you can imagine, and
I am also qualified to comment upon the failings within that MB.

So please try to refrain from telling me anything - though I would not
be averse to answering any questions if you asked.

I remember reading an article from Paul Krugman, where he said
something interesting which I think is not only applicable to the

To quote Klugman:

This is one of the reasons why I actively seek out people of different
opinions to my own, and discuss not only our differences but perchance
also to find common ground. If you read my past posts (going back over
twenty years or so on varying topics) you will find that I can be
intransigent or even downright abusive, I am however willing to back
off if there is a sign that the other person is reciprocating.

It is also a reason why I post contrary opinions to the "established
wisdom". Not necessarily because I hold those opinions, but because
they should be held up to the light to be examined and lessons, if
possible, learned instead of being shouted down and effectively swept
under the carpet in the name of "incestuous amplification".
Lord Xenu is a prime example of the dangers of the, "not one of us"
paradigm in the quote above.

If I did not have my own reason for being critical of Scientology, then
I do not think that any arguments Lord Xenu or Fred Durks could muster
would ever impress me.

I think that the danger is great that many of the people one would want
to warn of the dangers of Scientology will be alienated because they
will not agree to an undifferentiated and polarised anti-cult cult,
which uses the same methodology of debate (or rather lack thereof) as
the very thing they seek to criticise - namely Scientology.

Yeah. I don't read ars on Google, and I'm reading through Lightlink
which now has a very short retention span, and I read the articles by
date rather than thread, and I mark as "show unread" for my preferences.

My goodness. All this drama over a message board?

Courage....honor.....puffy chested proclamations.

Wake up!

What specific actions do you want Andreas to take? Please specify the
things you want Andreas to do.

Do you want him to ban people that harass bb?

What will make you happy?

You told me that I spent a lot of time writing without saying much, but
so far you haven't said what your specific demands are.

Would you care to stop all the drama for a while and make a list of
your specific complaints and make a list of proposed solutions?

Like I told you a while ago, the current way in which you are
addressing this problem will prove to be ineffectual and hopefully
you'll figure out a more effective means of communication than your
dramatic whining and complaining. It is just a damn message board and
one that you do not own. Whining that you or someone else is a victim
of poor moderation on a messageboard is pathetic. It isn't honorable
or courageous. And thankfully Terrill himself hasn't taken this whiny
approach.

What are babbling about?

Just because I can admit that whining about how Andreas runs his
message board on ARS is likely to be a fruitless endeavor doesn't mean
that I "admit my own uselessness". I'm not sure what you are going on
about here with "virtue", but words like honor, courage, and virtue
seem phony and misplaced on an anonymous discussion board on usenet.

> If you have no social courage, then I would suggest you get some, and
> try to escape from being the maggot on the borders of a postulated

"Social courage"? You mean like the immense amount of courage it
takes for an anonymous asswipe to post defamatory information on
usenet?

I am so in awe at your virtue, honor, and courage. You are so brave,
NEC. You stand up to fight against the horrible evil of poor
moderation of a message board by sacrificing your anonymous username of
NEC to the slings and arrows of condemnation on ARS. With such
tremendous personal sacrifice as this, I don't know how you can keep
surviving!

Your bravery is outstanding. I am sure if your friends and family
could see you now, they would be arranging for a ticker-tape parade in
your hometown.

> You have nothing. Terril at least has honour.

I'll grant you this, Terril was at least decent enough not to whine
about his treatment on a messageboard. And he told you that he didn't
need you to speak for him or defend him -- so I certainly have some
respect for him. I'm not sure how "honourable" Terril is, because to
me, he (or she) is just a bunch of random letters with no face or
voice. I save words like "virtue", "honor", and "courage" for people
that operate outside the world of messageboards.

"Brave" messageboard posts? -- "Virtuous" acts on a messageboard? --
"Courageous" replies on a messageboard?

You sully the word "honour" when you write about it like you do.

"a postulated propriety that I claim to champion"? I like the
assonance of "postulated propriety" and the rhythm of the words, but
again you write much and say very little. It's all fluff.

You've written many posts but you have said nothing of value. So can
you please concentrate and focus next time and answer these simple
questions:

Ach, der getroffene Hund bellt.

I'm sorry Alert you lost any reason to be taken seriously quite a few

When you eventually get that charisma bypass transplant you have been

Lord Xenu,

no actually spinal cancer.

I spent all night injecting her with morphine (because she wanted to
die at home - she was stubborn that way) until she died with about a
liter of water in her lungs at around 4 AM.

But thanks for asking, I'm sure she'd appreciate your concern.

You take care now

Probably we should consider a 1,000 mile fence along our border with OCMB,
maybe with motion sensors and dogs.

Don't get me wrong. OCMB has some wonderful people, and, I'm sure we can
afford a liberal visa policy and amnesty for those who show themselves
capable of speaking ARSian without drooling on the thesaurus.

But, contrary to popular rumor, ARS has no shortage of people willing to carp
and whine and just because someone can wield an intellectual leaf-blower with
minimal payoff isn't much of a justification for existence.

Naturally, OCMB has legitimate aspirations to deport some of its own, but
maybe they could just create a 'safe haven' compound internally; maybe assign
fred and nec as 'balanced' moderators who could spend their time deleting
each other's messages.

'Nec', if you disappear in the next 3 minutes, there is a very small group of
people who will either notice or care.

They are those who actually *enjoy* taunting dingleberries like you into
'expressing themselves' more succinctly.

It's a nasty habit, but, at worst it reflects on their taste.

Hopefully you will find a better venue for whining about your dead mother,

I'm not sane because I find it odd that someone would come here and
whine about a messageboard?

So far NEC has not provided us with answers to these questions:

1. What are the specific complaints against Andreas

2. What specific demands do you make upon Andreas.

3. What can the people of ARS do to help resolve your problem with
Andreas

If you think that what NEC is doing is helping him to win friends and
influence people to take up for his point of view....then it is you
that has a problem with sanity.

No. That isn't even close to this situation.

I entered into a long debate with Durks about his own statements,
because the evidence showed his statements and reality were not in
tune. My discussion was 99% involved with responding to the statements
that Durks made.

NEC on the other hand has come here to whine about Andreas. He is not
debating Andreas -- or responding to the comments of Andreas here -- he
is whining about how some guy moderates his own messageboard and he's
being a complete dick in the process -- by being a pompous asshole.

> Sometimes people feel passionately about some things.

So what?

When people feel passionate about ridiculous things and then become
pompous assholes and act like total dicks -- then they deserve to be
criticized.

Some people feel passionately that they should do all sorts of weird,
immoral, or dangerous things -- passion is no excuse for being a
pompous asshole.

> You know the old saying...walk a mile in his shoes, etc.

It is most difficult to "walk a mile in his shoes" when the asshole
won't even tell us what the fuck his specific problem with Andreas is.
He as written many posts now, probably over 20 -- and still hasn't even
said:

1. What is NEC's specific problem with Andreas.

2. What is NEC's specific remedy for the problem he has with Andreas.

3. What can the people of ARS do to help NEC resolve his problem.

Now supposedly, NEC has some problem with Andreas and wants us to help
him get Andreas to do something to appease NEC, right?

That is what this is about right?

Alert,

there is nothing about your posts to OCMB or here that a little bsod
couldn't improve - I'll see what I can do for you.

It seems that you and Kusinagi's Ghost are actually trying to implement

I still can't see any works of Shakespeare though (unless you count
your own left hand mousing of course).

I would have quoted the post I am replying to, but it was so inferior,
that even my clipboard refused to accept it.

BTW, ElRon's "tech" is about your limit (now that's sad) as has been
witnessed by your bumbling attempts at being a wannabe techie on OCMB
where you showed yourself up as the true zbeba

Before I forget, MissDorfl has posted a link on OCMB that might go a
ways to clear up your obvious lack of erudition.

For anyone else who might be interested in knowing just what a
lightweight Alert is, even as a wannabe techie:

Apart from the URL above Alert, my only other advice to you would be

BTW if Alert mentions MILF to you, believe me when I say, he might have

In one word hypocrisy.

As you know I warned long ago of what would happen on OCMB, and I think
you will agree that everything I said then (over two years ago) has
come to pass.

In recent times (since he assumed the position of moderator as dictated
by the "Peter Principle") he has made a mockery of his own ROC or FAQ
as he likes to call it.

I know Merlin personally and without saying too much, he gave up the
position as moderator on OCMB in disgust, and it was not disgust with

As you well know, Merlin kept me to a higher standard of posting than
he did others, simply because we did and do know each other privately.

You're kidding me - right?

So far most of the monochrome facilitators of RTC who I have had the
misfortune of meeting here can't even find their own ARS with both
hands, a torch and a map.

Perhaps if I had publicly disconnected from you and Terril, and did not
consider you to be my friends, then I might still be posting on OCMB.
Or if I did so now, then the fickle morons who call themselves
"critics" would turn around and "support" me.

Fat chance then and fat chance now of my ever doing that. You know that
I still consider Scientology to be a political anathema (upon which you
and I disagree), and RTC to be a criminal organization (upon which we
are, I think, in accord).

The only people I feel sorry for on OCMB are those, who although they
do, or might in future, want to reject RTC, but still wish to hold on
to some validity of Scientology for themselves (after all many have
spent not only years, but also decades immersed in that environment)
will be mercilessly hounded to renounce and repent any and all
connection to their past or else be hounded off the critical board back
into the arms of the waiting RTC.

I foresaw the direction OCMB was taking over two years ago. I am a
liberal with teeth, the Fox news morons are unfortunately there to stay
with Andreas's blessing - his problem, not mine.

Merlin fought the good fight, I know, I was with him all the way.

I fought against Andreas on his own site, because he has now allowed
his own intentions to become a mockery - with regard to the message
board. I am not in any way shape or form casting any dispersion on
Andreas as a person of either good faith or ethical fortitude.

He chose his way, and his friends, I choose mine.

So far my friends have more stature, honour, honesty and the bottom
line is, I am asshole enough that they don't need to post gratuitous
"me too" lunacy to bolster me..

As did I. But the vast majority of those struggling would never try
to pass themselves off as computer geeks.

Then there are those who want to be recognized as computer geeks,
and try to achieve this by tossing out geek jargon in lame ways.

Maybe our lamer is not as pathetic as the morons who think they are
"elite" because they can compromise naive users' computers with
scripts somebody else wrote. But it is a member of the same species.

Don't EVER correct Zinj. He was just playing around with words. Believe
me, he knows better...if he says 'dispersions' it's because he wanted
to, not because he's some nerk from the Bozarks.

Oh, whew. I've been skipping every other NEC post to see if they were
stylistically progressing. Nup, he ain't goin' anywhere real soon, it
seems. But reading them one at a time gives me this deep, icky sense of
pity for this poor fellow, who is desperately trying to convince
someone, anyone, of his superiority. Reading every other one reduces the
pity by half. Heh, you should try it. Now I'll go back and read the
other half of them so as to better understand your poking him with stix.
Again, WHEW. Coulda been ugly!

My reply on OCMB regarding "Nec_V20":

[Nec_V20 has] never applied to have the ban lifted so it never
was. On the contrary, he has in writing repeatedly denied to do
so or to accept the rules of OCMB. He also refused to accept
that he had done anything wrong and he's been e-mailing me to
the extent (and with a language) that I refuse to reply to him
anymore. Those who want to make their own rules can also make
their own message board.

I've communicated with thousands and thousands of people since I
started OC 10 years ago. Without doubt the person behind Nec_V20
is in a class all by himself in my book. I lack words. Based on
how he has been acting he will not be allowed on OCMB until
something dramatically changes. He is currently the only person
of all the thousands who have been here who have managed to
create such a position for himself.

For now that is all I want to comment on this character and his
case. I'm fed up.

From:
http://ocmb.xenu.net/ocmb/viewtopic.php?t=18405&postorder=asc&start=210
I'll add on ARS: I'LL HAPPILY SHARE WITH YOU OUR E-MAIL
COMMUNICATION SINCE HIS BAN ON OCMB IF HE ALLOWS ME. Then you
guys can judge me/him/it yourself. But who cares??? There are
more important things than this loose cannon.

Paying money to join a klub full of "people of our caliber"...I can see
how self satisfied minkeys like yourself would be impressed by it and
think it a good investment.
