Being right by refusing to understand?
Excellent self analysis!
I think posters of Jason Beghe interviews, should always write "Actor
Jason Beghe," if they can. It would attract listeners who are
interested in the celebrity aspect of Scientology, who might be
looking for information because of a Cruise or Travolta story.
Although I was following Scientology for a few months in the summer --
I think I've read ENOUGH about it -- I haven't been following it
lately, and back then I didn't get a chance to hear the full Beghe
interview, so I listened to it. Between a lot of rambling, Beghe made
a few interesting points.
To combine two of his points, he talks about how the consistency of
something (referring to books such as THE BAREFACED MESSIAH), as part
of his way of evaluating whether something is meaningful, plausible,
or real. Later on, he mentions that Scientology is not scientific.
When I first read part of Dianetics, it lacked consistency as theory,
let alone science. It made very little sense. It was just garbage. It
was not that I needed to study more and spend $300,000, as the nitwit
Scilons who post on this board might suggest. It was that I'd already
read enough in my lifetime to recognize that Scientology is for fools.
Therefore, I concluded that not only is Scientology retarded, but the
people who get involved with it are not very thoughtful or well read
either. So, becoming a Scilon, you may end up below deck being
punished or undergoing a humiliation ceremony, like Pigno, and asking
yourself, "Why is this happening to me...I'm a good person." The
answer is, yes, you are a good person, but you are a fool for signing
yourself into Scientology. Everyone does foolish things from time to
time, but Scientology is merely a con, that institutionalizes
foolishness. The higher up you go in it, the more deluded and idiotic
you become.
Scientology is a dated, 1950's pseudoscience. A religion is different.
It is something a person accepts on faith, without proof. Pretending
that a science is also a religion is plain stupid. Science requires
proof. Scientology has none. Hearing some Scilon nitwit claim they
touch assisted their hamster back to life, or whatever, is not proof!
As Jason Beghe says, rather dramatically WAKE UP!
I agree. As well, if it was anyone saying that scientology was
'retarded', it would not go over so well, he being famous for his NY
touigh talk accent and all..... he could get away with using that word
and not insulting others.
He's kind of like the ex-scientology critic family guy, IMHO
