Scientology-based school?

http://www.aptosacademy.org/

Narconon Northern California contributed $1,950 to the school in 2007.

Although I didn't look thoroughly, I didn't find mention of Hubbard, or
"Study Tech," but there is this bit: "At The Aptos Academy, we believe
... That this desire must be supported by introducing the child to a
proper study technology and encouragement of good study habits."

I don't think "study technology" is a common expression outside
Scientology, isn't?

I did a Google advanced search of the site for Hubbard and "applied
scholastics." Neither came up. But of course, the front groups are
trying to hide the connection more and more these days.

No, it isn't. Somebody might easily enough come up with the phrase
independently, but I haven't seen it elsewhere.

Seems like it might be a good idea to find out whether they are paying
royalties/licensing fees to ABLE, Applied Scholastics or some other
Scieno entity. Is that hard to do?

I didn't see it in their 990 filings:
http://dynamodata.fdncenter.org/990_pdf_archive/770/770411034/770411034_200612_990.pdf

But it's not necessarily a reason to rule out. As an example, Applied
Scholastics International reworded "Trademark license fees" as "Program
svc fees" starting 2006.

I have trouble believing the phrase could have come from anything but
Scientology-speak. The misuse of the word "technology" in that
particular way is uniquely scilon. And in fact, that whole sentence is
clumsy in ways that automatically make me think it was written by a
graduate of "study tech."

my bit of info on that might be accurate,, craig jensen sent his
kids there,,, it does use scn study tech, but does not tow the cult
line all that closely,,, .. I heard about the yoga bit when they
first stated doing it. that would normally not be tolerated by cult
management
