The FAQ for Alt.Religion.Scientology:

1. Should I use my real name when posting to this newsgroup?

Answer: Why should you when Scientologists don't use their real names in
person. See "Buddy in action" at:

http://www.xenutv.com/originals/incident.htm

http://www.xenutv.com/originals/4th.htm

2. How do I know who on this newsgroup is a real critic and who's a
Scientologist just pretending to be a critic?

Answer: Very difficult to tell. When Clearwater opened a remodeled alley
next to a Scientology building, the group behind the remodeling claimed
there to be no Scientology connection but it was later discovered that major
Scientologists were behind the decision to not allow critics to purchase
memorial bricks in the alley:

http://www.xenutv.com/originals/alley.htm

3. What does OSA stand for?

Answer: OSA stands for Office of Special Affairs. The head of OSA, Mike
Rinder, had a great number of Clearwater police officers working under his
control:

http://www.xenutv.com/trust/policevideo.htm

4. What is an "OSA Troll"?

Answer: An "OSA Troll" is a Scientologist pretending to be a critic. The
reverse of that happened when writer Mark Ebner went undercover in
Scientology for Spy Magazine. He later wrote many other fine articles
exposing Scientology's lies and abuse:

http://www.xenutv.com/mb/ebner.htm

5. How is Scientology going about stopping the criticism that takes
place on this newsgroup?

Answer: They will continue to make ridiculous moves which will prove largely
ineffective, much as the time they came to picket my home:

http://www.xenutv.com/mb/revenge.htm

6. I've been invited by some of the other posters on the newsgroup to
go to a picket with them, should I go?

Answer: Look at the fun you'll have:

http://www.xenutv.com/pickets/index.html

7. Somebody on the newsgroup requested that I send him or her my
Scientology promotional mail that Scientology sent me, should I send
it to them?

Answer: First, read it and have a good laugh. Get the know the silly words
Hubbard created such as "enturbulate." Make yourself familiar with
Scientology's many front groups. Then educate the public on the various
types of fraud they perpetrate: (Oh, and send the mail if you like.)

http://www.xenutv.com/trust/race.htm

8. If I do start posting articles on this newsgroup that is hurtful to
Scientology, what tactics will the Scientologists pretending to be
critics use in order to frustrate and stop me?

Answer: Nothing compared to what Scientology does to its own members.
Clearwater held a week's worth of hearings back in 1982. Watch them all
online:

http://www.xenutv.com/hearings/index.htm

9. Some other posters on the newsgroup recommended that I log onto a
web site that is supposed to have more criticism of Scientology,
should I do this?

Answer: Think for yourself:

http://www.xenutv.com/links.htm

10. What ways are there to "handle" Scientology?

Answer: Ask questions. Seek out former and current members and find out
their stories:

http://www.xenutv.com/interviews/index.html

11. Scientology likes to make the world believe it is invincible, does
Scientology have any weaknesses and if so, what are they?

Answer: Their leaders look really silly on camera:

The FAQ for Alt.Religion.Scientology:

1. Should I use my real name when posting to this newsgroup?

Answer: Using your real name when posting to this newsgroup is a very
bad idea. There are a lot of Scientologists on this newsgroup, some
are up front about it but most are not. The last thing you want is for
Scientology to find out who you are. Scientology can not stop or
destroy its critics unless it's able to locate them first. If you make
public your real name, you make it possible for them to do this. Also,
it might be a good idea that the email address that's associated with
your posts be a secondary one. If you start posting anything truly
critical of Scientology they will start bombing the email address
associated with your posts with junk email and email containing
viruses, so be careful.

2. How do I know who on this newsgroup is a real critic and who's a
Scientologist just pretending to be a critic?

Answer: I have compiled a list of Scientologists pretending to be
critics on this newsgroup, which are called "OSA trolls". For a list
of the names Scientology is posting under on this newsgroup please
read an earlier post titled: "Names Scientology is Posting by on this
newsgroup".

3. What does OSA stand for?

Answer: OSA stands for Office of Special Affairs. It's a division of
Scientology created in order handle threats to Scientology from the
outside world. These are the people that go after Scientology's
enemies, critics & antagonists. They also have the job of "handling"
this newsgroup. For a list of the names Scientology is posting under
on this newsgroup please read an earlier post titled: "Names
Scientology is Posting by on this newsgroup".

4. What is an "OSA Troll"?

Answer: An "OSA Troll" is a Scientologist pretending to be a critic on
this newsgroup. They work in the OSA division of Scientology. Their
job is to "troll" this newsgroup looking for real critics & criticism
of Scientology. When they come across any hurtful criticism of
Scientology they will attack the post and the person posting it. For a
list of the names OSA members use to post by on this newsgroup, please
read this post titled: "Names Scientology is Posting by on this
newsgroup". For a list of the tactics these "trolls" use in order to
stop real critics & criticism, please read a post titled: "Tactics OSA
uses to stop critics on this newsgroup".

5. How is Scientology going about stopping the criticism that takes
place on this newsgroup?

Answer: Scientology does have a plan and an operation in place for
stopping real criticism of Scientology on this newsgroup. The way
Scientology is trying to "handle" the critics on this newsgroup and
all critics of Scientology in general is outlined in some earlier
posts titled:

"Scientology's Plan to Stop Critics & Criticism on this newsgroup"
"How Scientology is playing both sides of the coin"
"The Magical Transformation of Church Member into Critic"
"Scientology's Trick to keep people from REAL criticism"

6. I've been invited by some of the other posters on the newsgroup to
go to a picket with them, should I go?

Answer: If you have never been on a picket before and Scientology
doesn't know that you are antagonistic or critical of them, you should
not go. If you go, Scientology will find out who you are and what you
look like. They will take your picture and create a new file at OSA
headquarters with your name on it, under "enemies of the church".
There's a trick Scientology employs in order to smoke real critics out
into the open, for more information on this, please read an article
titled "Scientology's Decoy System". If Scientology ALREADY knows who
you are and you have already been on a picket before, it's probably ok
to go again, what more damage could they do? Make sure that if you go
on a picket to dress respectable, don't be scene picketing with people
acting like boobs. Don't let other picketers come to the picket
looking like they just came out of a mental hospital or looking like
bums. Scientology wants the world to think critics are just a bunch of
nuts. A lot of Scientologists, posing as critics will come to pickets
dressed like idiots and act like idiots, wearing Xenu masks, dressing
in red pajamas, dragging stuffed "duke" dogs and shouting into bull
horns in order to discredit REAL critics. Their goal is to give all
critics of Scientology a bad name. Remember, and this is very
important, everybody should act and dress like respectable members of
the society!

7. Somebody on the newsgroup requested that I send him or her my
Scientology promotional mail that Scientology sent me, should I send
it to them?

Answer: No. If the person you are sending the mail to is not really a
critic of Scientology but a Scientologist, you will be informing
Scientology of your name and address and that you are currently taking
a critical view of them. Even if you were to cut out your name and
address off the mail, your name and address could be still on that
piece of mail in some other form like a bar code. Don't take the risk,
it's not worth it. Any Scientology promotional mail you don't want,
just tear it up and throw it away. If Scientology wants to waste their
money sending it to you, let them.

8. If I do start posting articles on this newsgroup that is hurtful to
Scientology, what tactics will the Scientologists pretending to be
critics use in order to frustrate and stop me?

Answer: There is a list of all the dirty tricks they will try in order
to stop you. They will use psychological warfare on you. Being an
ex-Scientologist who was at a high level when I was in Scientology, I
recognized all of their dirty tricks. The explanation of each
technique they use is outlined in an earlier article called:
"Techniques used by Scientology to handle ARS".

9. Some other posters on the newsgroup recommended that I log onto a
web site that is supposed to have more criticism of Scientology,
should I do this?

Answer: Doing so could be a very bad idea also. Whenever you log on to
any web site, where you are can be traced back from that web site back
to you through the jumps it takes from server to server all over the
internet. If the web site happens to be controlled by Scientology's
OSA division, they can find out who you are and that you are currently
hungry for criticism of their church. This is a highly debated subject
between some others on this newsgroup and me. Usually Scientologists
who are pretending to be critics are the ones who want people to go on
OSA controlled web sites. For example, there was a man named Bob
Minton a few years ago that had a web site named xenutv, which was
critical of Scientology in a real way. When he lost his court case to
Scientology, he lost control of that web site to them. Now,
Scientology has control over the domain name. You see, just like the
Cult Awareness Network( CAN ), Scientology takes over it's enemies
instead of destroying them. The Cult Awareness Network use to be a
company that made people aware of cults, but now it is being run by
Scientology. Scientology likes to play both sides of the coin, this is
in order to keep things under control.

10. What ways are there to "handle" Scientology?

Answer: There are things you can do to "handle" Scientology and to
communicate to the world their antics. For a list of some ways, please
read this article titled: "Some different Ways to "Handle"
Scientology".

11. Scientology likes to make the world believe it is invincible, does
Scientology have any weaknesses and if so, what are they?

Answer: Yes, Scientology does have its weaknesses. Every organization
has its strengths and weaknesses and Scientology is no different. One
of the biggest seems to be its tremendous need to expand. For a list
of the rest, please read an article titled: "Weaknesses of the Church
of Scientology".

If any of the articles I've pointed you to in this FAQ cannot be
found, it is because Scientology is illegally canceling my posts.
Please post a request for it or wait for me to re-post it in the near
future.

Thank You.
