And people laughed at the Kinderhook Plates...

Finally - proof-positive that *some* humor does come from Jerusalem.

The existence of the "hidden codes" phenomenon was first published
by Professor Eliyahu Rips along with his colleagues Doron Witztum and Yoav
Rosenberg. They researched into the seemingly unique patterns encoded in the
Book of Genesis. Scanning the text by computer using a scientific method
called Equidistant Letter Sequences (ELS) has disclosed that "hidden" in the
Torah text are words or meaningful combinations of letters.

For example, it has been found that the word "TORAH", (in Hebrew letters), appears at the
beginning of both the books of Genesis and Exodus, with an equidistant in
both cases of 50 letters, starting from the first occurrence of the letter
"Taf", (Hebrew Letter) in each book. Mathematicians have calculated that the
probability of this occurring randomly, and not by deliberate design, is
less than one in three millions.

Bible Codes has been designed to explore the hidden dimensions and depths of
the Hebrew Bible's text, that which lay hidden for centuries can be brought
into the light with the push of a few buttons. The researcher can now go
below the surface of the text and obtain new insights and understanding.

And to show just how bogus the whole bible codes thing is
someone did a little research with the exact same methods and
found a lot more predictions in the book Moby Dick.
