Miss Martha H. Brotherton - whore and liar!
==============================

If you will look carefully at Martha Brotherton's 1842 words, you will clearly
see why the Lord's Anointed referred to her as a "liar" and a "harlot."

Martha accused Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and Heber Kimball of being
involved in secret polygamy at Nauvoo -- of trying to seduce innocent young
girls like herself into spiritual wifery. As we all know, Joseph Smith very
clearly DENIED that any Church-authorized polygamy ever occured among
the Saints at Nauvoo. Therefore, Martha was clearly and obviously a "liar."
(Ask any RLDS born before 1900, they'll vouch for all I say!)

But, don't take Bro. Joseph's word for it -- allow the little English hussy to
speak for herself:

> "... "Well, but," said Brigham, "you must promise me you will never
> mention it [the offer for her plural marriage to the Apostle] to any one."
> "I do promise it," said I. "Well," said Joseph, "you must promise me the
> same." I promised him the same. "Upon your honor," said he, "you will not
> tell." "No, sir, I will lose my life first," said I... The next day being Sunday,
> I sat down, instead of going to meeting, and wrote the conversation, and
> gave it to my sister..."

So!! Martha admits right there that she first promised something very important
to the Lord's Anointed, and then went home and broke her sacred promise. That
is a LIE!! my friends, and for telling such a lie she deserves eternal hell-fire!

Secondly -- it is obvious that the little hussy was indeed a harlot. For, if you read
her account, you will see that she (an unmarried girl not yet 18) -- was ALONE
in a locked room, with a man not related to her, with the shade pulled down!! And
to make matters far worse, Martha herself admits, that she responded to a serious
question from the Prophet of the last Dispensation and Holder of the Keys to
the Gathering of Israel, thusly ---> "Sir," said I, rather warmly, "it will be too late
to think in a month or two..."

So!! Martha admits right there that she was talking "WARMLY" to such men, alone,
in a room with the shades drawn. Who but a prostitute would have done such a
thing in Nauvoo, in 1842!!

Finally, we must recall that Brigham Young later had Martha sealed to him, (after
she had died), in a proxy marriage carried out in the Salt Lake City Endowment
House. Now, why would have Brigham ever gone and done such a thing? The
answer is simple --- all of the other girls he converted and baptised while on
his mission in England had become faithful, LDS members, destined for the
Celestial Kingdom. But, the tramp Martha, was destined for damnation!! To save
this one lost sheep, the gentle and merciful Brigham (always known for his
infinite compassion) "bound on Earth" so it might be "bound in heaven," and
granted forgiveness to this common prostitute, this horrid harlot, this lying
lady of the evening -- and kept his promise to her: "if you will accept of me
I will take you straight to the celestial kingdom; and if you will have me in
this world, I will have you in that which is to come..."

MORMONISM VINDICATED!!
MORMONISM TRIUMPHANT!!!!

Put that in your hookahs and smoke it, oh ye lost
and corrupted generation of divinely-rejected Gentiles!

By the way -- none of you have ever read this statement in its full and original
publication. Here is its first printing, (not an edited Brodie paraphrase or copy).

Still more dirt on Martha!!

This little tramp crept into the holy Mormon ranks by feigning
conversion in England. It is obvious that she was insincere in
her prodession of latter day faith, in that she did not "endure until
the end" -- she barely managed to remain a Mormon for a year!

Also, since her mother and father left the Church at Nauvoo, right
after Spring Conference in 1842, it is obvious that they knew they
had raised a whore and had helped her worm her way into the holy
ranks of the "Chosen People." Martha's brother left the Church,
returned to England, and wrote a nasty book about Joseph Smith.
Only the brother of a harlot would do such a thing.

Finally, we can note with an air of righteous assuredness the fact that
Martha, after being kicked out of the Church, was never again accused
of prostitition by anybody, anywhere, for the remainder of her known
life. The reason for this turn-about is patently obvious: After being
exposed as a 17 year-old girl of ill-repute by the Lord's Anointed --
and after having that exposure carried throughout the state of Illinois
and beyond, by hundreds of preaching elders, sent out from Nauvoo
by Bro. Joseph to spread the honest truth, Martha was so embarrassed
that she was forced to leave her cat-house abode and hide herself in
anonymous shame, among her unfallen sisters of virtue.

Thus, Martha, the 17 year-old whore, was exposed and blasted by
the righteous words printed in the Nauvoo "Wasp," (ever an upholder
of righteousness and purity) --- to the point that her troops of male
customers faded away, going elsewhere to satisfiy their lurid lust.

And that, my friends, is why people like Mr. Smethurst of Pittsburgh
took it upon themselves to inform us that Martha was not (nolonger,
that is) a filthy little tart!!
http://www.lavazone2.com/dbroadhu/PA/penn1842.htm#072742

The very fact that nobody ever called her a harlot, (except the divinely
discerning top LDS leaders), shows how successful she had been in
keeping her wicked little career a closely-guarded secret!! But there
was no way she could pass before the all-seeing eye of the Seer of
Palmyra, and remain undetected in her 17 year-long life of sin!!

Score one more big fat point for the Lord's Anointed, and one
more nail in the coffin of those minions of Satan who, like Martha
H. Brotherton, dared to say that Joseph Smith, Jr. ever attempted
to talk any innocent young girl into polygamy at Nauvoo!!

So said the "Saints' Herald" in 1880!
So let it be recorded and remebered for all time!

Who, indeed, whould belive such lies!!!

LIE #1 -- That Joseph ever taught that "having two wives" was of God.
See an admirable defense of our beloved Prophet and Martyr, against vicious
charges that he ever advocated of practiced Polygmay at Nauvoo, as written
by LDS Elder Thomas Smith and published in the LDS Millennial Star,
XII (Jan. 15, 1850) - pp. 29-31.

LIE #2 -- That Sister Martha H. Brotherton was ever "shut in a room for
several days" by the top leaders of the Mormon Church. By her very own
admission, Joseph Smith and Brigham Young only shurt her up in Bro.
Joseph's office above his Red Brick Store for several hours -- not DAYS!!

As Brother Joseph says himself -- "who would believe such lies" ??? It is
absolutely ridiculous to think that Joseph and Brigham would have shut
Sister Brotherton up in that office for SEVERAL DAYS -- because, as
Miss Martha herself says, that office was in frequent use!

Here is yet another terrible lie, directed at the Church of the Latter Day Saints
by the lovers of Lucifer, trying to make us think that Martha's statement had
even one ounce of truth in it.

LIE #3 -- That Joseph Smith was somehow involved in any of this sordid
scenerio, as painted by that little whore and liar, Sister Martha --- Why, our
Beloved Prophet and Martyr (honored and blest be his ever great name)
HIMSELF says: "There is no person that is acquainted with our principles
who would believe such lies" ... as "to believe in having two wives." This utter
refutation of Martha's terrible allegations is printed in black and white, right
in the sacred "History of the Church," as published by both the RLDS and
by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Salt Lake City.

Thus, the Holder of the Keys to the Last Dispensation demolishes Miss Martha
Brotherton's scandalous lies with the holy latter day truth, out in the open daylight
for all to see: "There is no person that is acquainted with our principles
who would believe such lies" The Doctrine and Covenants then in use clearly
forbids Polygamy, and limits a man to one wife -- those were "our principles"
then, and they stand ever firm today -- No person acquainted with LDS principles
today would ever accuse the President of the High Priesthood of the Church of
advocating "having two wives" or of keeping 17 year-old girls shut up for days.

Long live Hyrum Smith -- who stands at the left hand of the Firstborn in glory
Long live Joseph Smith -- who stands at his right hand
(those places having been reserved for the martyrs from all eternity, so that even
the Firstborn could not give into to his disciples' request to grant those honored
positions unto them, back in the meridian of time).

How can ANY Gentile now refrain from not exercising faith, repenting, being baptized,
and placing himself under the firm authority of the latter day priesthood, immediately!!!

I am shocked! Yes, shocked, to discover that such things are being printed by a
journal with a beloved name like "sunstone" atop its masthead.

Joseph Smith, Jr. (honored and blest be his ever great name) and that epitome of
righteousness, Apostle Orson Hyde, both stated publicly, for all the world to hear
and understand, that Nancy Rigdon was a whore and a lair, just like Melissa Schindle,
Sarah Pratt, Martha Brotherton, and all the rest of that troope of tarts at Nauvoo, who
had the utter audacity to accuse the President of the Church of attempting to seduce
them into a "polygamy," (which has always been exploded as a myth and a slander).

This writer for "Sunstone" cannot even get her facts straight.

LIE #1: That Elizabeth Brotherton Pratt called her sister Martha "a whore." She did
not -- Elizabeth was obviously as bamboozled as the rest of the Saints in England,
who thought that Martha was an innocent young lady, barely out of childhood -- a
spotless virgin who could enter the waters of LDS baptism without hesitation. Let's
face it, brothers and sisters, would have Parley P. Pratt -- the Archer of Paradise --
ever taken Elizabeth Brotherton as his wife, had he known that she had allowed
her harlot sister to enter the church under false pretenses?? Elizabeth never called
Martha "a whore," because she did not know that fact until it was revealed to her
from the mouth of the Lord's Anointed, President Joseph Smith, Jr. himself.

You see, Elizabeth never accused her sister of lying about anything involving the
alleged affair above the Red Brick Store in Nauvoo in March of 1842. If you read
Elizabeth's statement, she only says that Martha has told many lies. To try and
slander the character of ELizabeth Brotherton Pratt, by insinuating that she knew
of her sister's lies and harlotry before Spring Conference, 1842 is patently ridiculous.
Why, had Elizabeth B. Pratt known of such things, and not reported them immediately
to the Church leaders in England, a man of Pratt's virtue would have never married her!

LIE #2: That our beloved Prophet and Marytr ever assassinated the character of any
of his followers, or members of his church. That is simply untrue. Josesph was an
honest, forgiving, compassionate, leader in the latter day cause, who went out of his
way to try and preserve the character of members like John C. Bennett, G. M. Hinkle,
Sidney Rigdon, William Law, William Smith, and O. P. Rockwell (to name just a few).

Apostle Orson Hyde clearly tells us that our Prophet took Nancy aside, in private
and in secret and there discussed with her the "facts of life" in relation to her
whorish lifestyle -- however, Nancy chose not to abide by Brother Joseph's initimate
advice, and she made it sound like President Smith had tried to make her his plural
wife. Indeed! Who would believe such a fairytale!!

LIE #3: That Nancy Rigdon was ever solicited by Joseph Smith, Jr. to be a plural
wife. Why, at the insistance of President Smith, Sidney Rigdon himself placed a
notice in the newspapers saying that no letter in Bro. Joseph's handwriting (trying
to seduce Nancy to be a plural wife) was ever given to Nancy.

Think about that for a moment -- the girl's own father backs up Joseph Smith, Jr.,
by saying that there was no letter penned by Joseph to Nancy -- not one single
word in the Prophet's holy handwriting!

And to top it all off -- Apostle Orson Hyde wrote and printed an address saying
that Rigdon's house in Nauvoo was essentially a whore-house. Who could possibly
think well of such a man as Rigdon, who pimped his own daughters!! So, when
Rigdon confronted Smith about the supposed seduction of Nancy, the Prophet
could answer in righteous indignation, that he was only "testing her faith."

It is a well known fact that in ever single case where Joseph Smith, Jr, was ever
accused of asking one of his followers to tell a lie or do a bad thing, that he was
merely testing their faith. How many scandalous stories have been put into
public circulation in relation to Joseph's kind and self-sacrificing actions!!!

Nancy Rigdon?
Don't you believe a thing she ever said --- a whore and a liar.

Melissa Schindel?
Don't you believe a thing she ever said --- a whore and a liar.

Martha H. Brotherton?
Don't you believe a thing she ever said --- a whore and a liar.

Sarah Pratt?
Don't you believe a thing she ever said --- a whore and a liar.

Proof that Martha H. Brotherton was a whore.

Some readers may question whether a very young lady from a protected life
among the Latter Day Saints in Victorian England could have ever pursued
a career as a prostitute, then, or after her arrival with her parents in America.

Howver, the prestigious "New York Herald" spread the word of Martha's
life of easy virtue --- by printing a letter written by someone named Foster.
In that letter it is clearly demonstrated, and proven beyond a shadow of a
doubt, that the notorious rake, John C. Bennett, frequented the following ladies
of the evening at Nauvoo:

1. Mrs. Emmeline White
2. Mrs. Sarah Pratt
3. Margaret Nyman
4. Matilda Nyman
5. Sarah Miller
6. Martha Brotherton
7. "Others" (obviously including Nancy Rigdon, etc.)

But, do not take Mr. Foster's word for such things -- the same accusations were
reprinted in the Nauvoo "Wasp," on Oct. 15, 1842 on page 2.

Now, why does this matter?

1. Because Martha never published a letter in the Wasp denying the charge.
2. Because the Wasp was edited and managed by an Apostle of the Church
(William Smith, brother of the Prophet) who was blessed with the holy
gift of spiritual discernment. Like the "Ensign" of today, the "Wasp" of
that day printed only wholesome article, full of truth and light.

Thus, we see that the devilish John C. Bennett was among Martha's male
customers. It may be suspected that he was savoring her favors as early as
1840, in Manchester England. Certainly he must have been on hand at New
Orleans in Feb. of 1842, when the ship carrying her family and other Saints
from Liverpool landed in America. And, can there be any doubt, that by
March of 1842, John C. Bennett was in bed with Martha in St. Louis, as the
steamer carrying that company of Saints made its way north, up the river?

By mid-March, 1842, Martha was in Nauvoo, and John C. Bennett had many
long hours to sample her hidden wares before the alleged incident in the
second story office of Joseph's Red Brick Store at Nauvoo was said to have
occurred (near the end of March).

We can rest assured that as early as two weeks before Spring Conference, that
Martha H. Brotherton, tramp and "ho," had lit her red light on the streets of
Nauvoo and was "taking all comers," as they say.

So -- who can possibly refute the mighty voice of truth, trumpted by the "Wasp":

1. That Martha H. Brotherton was a whore and a liar.
2. That her words are not to be trusted -- or even read by the Saints
3. That, therefore, Joseph Smith, Jr. did NOT try to seduce her into polygamy
4. And, that there was no polygamy at Nauvoo.

If you do not believe me, just consult the holy pages of the "Wasp" itself.

Case closed.

Still more dirt on Martha H. Brotherton --

This is from the newspaper published at Nauvoo by
LDS Apostle (and brother of Joseph Smith, Jr.)
Elder William B. Smith:

"... John C. Bennett, the pimp and file leader of such
mean harlots as Martha H. Brotherton and her
predecessors from old Jezebel..."

http://www.lavazone2.com/dbroadhu/LDS/wasp1.htm#082742

====================

From this we see why the LDS Church leaders have consistently
denounced the testimony of Miss Martha H. Brotherton, in
regard to there having been polygamy among the top leadership
of the Church at Nauvoo."

1. It is unthinkable that a latter day apostle of Jesus Christ would
ever knowingly print a falsehood in a church publication. So.
William Smith printed the utter and unassailable truth.

2. It is unthinkable that, even if such a falsehood were printed in
a Mormon paper like "The Wasp" that President Joseph Smith, Jr.
would have let it stand, and not corrected such a strong denouncement.
So, Joseph backed up his brother's publication of the truth totally.

Therefore, the "Wasp" statement MUST BE TRUE -- and

John C. Bennett, while serving as temporary Counselor in the LDS
First Presidency, Commander of the Nauvoo Legion, Quarter Master
of the Illinois Militia, Master in Chancery for Hancock County, Senior
Warden in the Nauvoo Masonic Lodge, Chancellor of the University
of Nauvoo, and Mayor of that same city, was all the while a PIMP.

And who was the harlot pimped by this terrible person at Nauvoo?
Obviously -- as an Apostle of the LDS Church has informed us in
his newspaper, the harlot was Miss Martha H. Brotherton.

And, not only was Sister Martha a prostitute for President Bennett,
she was more exactly a "mean harlot," --- that is, one stingy with
the truth and ever ready to tell vicious wicked lies about wonderful
champions of decency like Heber C. Kimball, Brigham Young, and
Joseph Smith, Jr.

As a "mean harlot," her lying accusations can be readily distinguished
from the reliable words of good harlots, like Rahab, the ancestress of
King David, of course.

Furthermore, it will be seen from the revelation in "The Wasp," that
Martha H. Brotherton had "predecessors" going all the way back to
"old Jezebel," who was so roundly condemned in ancient scripture.

Like Queen Jezebel, Martha H. Brotherton set out to destroy the work
of the servants of God -- and, like Jezebel, she deserved to be killed
and her body torn apart by rabid dogs.

Remember -- Martha H. Brotherton accused Joseph Smith, Jr. of
attempting to convince her to become the plural wife of Brigham
Young, in March of 1842. What an impossible, false, lying accusation!!!

Her slanderous harlot's lies were soundly destroyed at the April 1842
conference of the Church, when Hyrum and Joseph Smith rose before
the assembled Saints, in awful righteous indignation, to loudly
proclaim once and for all --

THERE WAS NO POLYGAMY IN THE CHURCH!
and, therefore
MARTHA H. BROTHERTON WAS A LIAR AND A WHORE!!

How much more clear can anybody possibly present such facts!!

that looks like what a certain person would write, but he would use several thousand
more words to say the same thing, and you would have to read it two or three times to
figure out if he was "for it or agin it".
And he would tell you to call the missionaries if you really wanted to learn about the
