Mitt is overly concerned with his physical appearance. That picture is too
slovenly to be him
Because he is so vain, he is going to go more left than Nixon, whose many
social and economic policies were astonishingly lefty for a republican
he almost has to go left to get rid of that automaton presentation

Your best side may be your left cheek, ac苞ord虹ng to a new stu苓y.
The re貞earch, by Kel貞ey Black苑urn and James Schir虹llo from Wake For苟st
Uni赳ers虹ty in North Car觔衍i要a, finds that im苔ges of the left side of
the face are per苞eived and rat苟d as more pleas苔nt than pic負ures of the
right side. This may be be苞ause we pre貞苟nt emo負ion more in負ensely on
the left side of our face, say Black苑urn and Schir虹llo, who pub衍ish their
re貞ults in the jour要al Ex計e訃i衫en負al Brain Re貞earch.
Past studies sug茆est that the left side of the face is more in負ense and
ac負ive dur虹ng emo負ional ex計res貞ion-which may ex計lain why West苟rn
artists' por負raits pre苓om虹要antly pre貞苟nt sub虻ects' left pro苯ile,
Black苑urn and Schir虹llo said.
"Our re貞ults sug茆est that posers' left cheeks tend to ex虐ib虹t a great苟r
in負ens虹ty of emo負ion, which ob貞ervers find more aes負het虹c苔lly
pleas虹ng," they wrote. "Our find虹ngs pro赳ide sup計ort for a num苑er of
con苞epts - the no負ions of lat苟r苔l虹zed emo負ion and right hem虹貞pher虹c
[right half of the brain] dom虹要ance with the right side of the brain
con負rol衍ing the left side of the face dur虹ng emo負ional ex計res貞ion."
Par負i苞i計ants were asked to rate the pleas苔ntness of both sides of male
and female faces in black-and-white pho負os. The re貞earch苟rs pre貞苟nted
both orig虹要al pho負os and mirror-reversed im苔ges, so that an orig虹要al
right-cheek im苔ge looked like a left-cheek im苔ge and vi苞e versa. The
re貞earch苟rs found a strong pref苟r苟nce for left-sided por負raits,
re茆ard衍ess of wheth苟r the pic負ures were orig虹要ally tak苟n of the left
side, or mirror-reversed. The left side of the face was rat苟d as more
aes負het虹c苔lly pleas虹ng for both male and female posers.
These pref苟r苟nces were al貞o con苯irmed by mea貞ure衫ents of pu計il size,
a re衍i苔苑le un苞on貞cious meas赴re衫ent of in負er苟st, the
in赳es負i茆a負ors found. Pupils di衍ate in re貞ponse to more in負er苟sting
or pleas苔nt stim赴衍i, and con貞trict when look虹ng at un計leas苔nt
im苔ges, they not苟d.
