OK folks...time to take a break. Time to relax a little and educate me. I
would like to know who is famous AND Mormon....here's who I know.

Wilford Brimley--"Our House" actor...also in "The Firm" with Tom Cruise...used
the "F" word in one scene, but I wouldn't know, it was rated "R"--wink wink

Steve Young--quarterback for that nasty, stinky, always winning SF 49er's

Orrin Hatch--Senator...on TV alot on SUNDAYS!! LOL!!

That's about it for who I know for sure...I need to confirm some others
though...

William Shatner--heard he's inactive but was in the Church in Canada
Robert Pine--Sergeant Gertrare from the old "CHIPS" TV show...he was in a
church video

So, now....hit me with who YOU know that's famous..

TY Detmer is LDS, but his little brother Koy is not. Ty joined while he was
at BYU.

Steven Covey used to be LDS . . .

Sorry, he was hired to do the video. It would have been interesting to ask him
how he felt about getting baptized when it didn't count.....

I don't know if any of you are Science Fiction fans, but Orson Scott Card,
of Ender's Game fame is an active member. He's won Hugos, Nebulas, and a
variety of other big-time awards. In fact, he's written several books for a
specifically Mormon audience and based some (most) of his other fictions on
Book of Mormon stories, including one series that retells the Nephi story.

How about Peter Vidmar, gold medal gymnast. I have a tape of
him giving a youth conference. Awesome dude. Used to have a
poster, but it went the way or all the earth.

bad choices . . .

A couple spouses of famous people who are LDS are the wife of Larry King.
And the Wife of Rick Schroeder(I'm not sure of his status though) In fact
the Schroeders often host stake and ward activities at their spread in
Colorado. (Somewhere near Grand Junction)

In fact Gordon Jump was Peter in the Temple Endowment from the 80's and I
believe Glen Larsen did Battlestar Galacticca which has a lot of LDS
beliefs in it. Also 2 time NL MVP of the Atlanta Braves Dale Murphy who is
now a mission president and Danny Ainge.
