But... they had a chimp in a robot in a chimp suit suit!

That's funnier than *anything*.

I know it.
Steve Martin knew it.

Conan O'Brien knows it.
The writers for "Talk Soup" know it.
The writers for "Lost in Space" knew it.
They Might Be Giants knew it when they made their demo tape.

Rudy Rucker knows it.
John Sladek knows it.
Stanislaw Lem knows it.
Thomas Pynchon knows it.

Isaac Asimov knew it early on, but forgot.

George Lucas knew it, but sometimes leaned on it excessively.

Robots are funnier than chimpanzees.

Whether the producers of "Battlestar Galactica" knew it is the
subject of great debate in the literature.

The thorny issue of: "Shields and Yarnell: Funny or not funny?"
is left as an exercise for the alt.sex.robots readership.

Shields and Yarnell imitators are not funny.

So? The Muppets had a guy in a Zoot suit!

I almost typed "goy in a Froot Loop", but that wouldn't have been funny.
It would have been a tragic cry for froot. Froot of the luim.

What do they call Fruit Loops in other lands, you ask?

USA: Froot Loops
France: Fruit Luips
England: Frewt Lewps
Spain: Frooto Loopso
Russia: F(backwards r)oot Loops [it's always a backwards lowercase r]
Diaperland: Dirdy Dirdies!
Antarctica: Brrrrr Brrrrrrs
or did I get the last two backwards?

Well, it's funnier than chanting "pants" over and over.
