I've seen what I feel to be many legitimate slams against the WTS but so
far, NONE regarding money. The antis need to give it up already, and focus
on REAL issues!
Some already have, and now conclude that it's not about the money, but the
power. At least they admit that it's not about the money.
Others pathetically attempt to discredit the GB by showing a picture of what
is claimed to be the Watchtower private jet (which is actually a propeller
plane) and they point out that the GB has used this "jet" to venture off
into areas of Alaska that is known for good salmon fishing. That's proof of
something?!?!? BWHAHAHAHAHA!!! LOL! LOL! LOL!
Again, give it up unless you have some real proof of money mismanagement
(i.e. luxury cars, mansions, whores, paying taxes that are not asked for)
and focus on REAL tangible issues.
That's my advice, anyway.

BTW, I'm not interested in the WTS owning stock in a company associated with
another company that makes a part used on a bomb or whatever...yawn. I want

A propeller plane once used for travel in Alaska just doesn't cut it - and

Wow, king Solomon must not have seen this one! The Bible says allot of
things, not that I really care. Anyone can find fault with just about
anything using the Bible (though Mark Sornson has explained many issues I

Anyway, I find it hard to believe that whatever the "Peterson Complex" is,
that it's all that fancy relative to any other fancy church building. Of

I can't speak for JWs, but I would LOVE for someone to actually point out
their extravagance, show of wealth, and waste. Not speculation in a
newsgroup / message board but something that would at LEAST make a small
article in a well-known credible magazine. I'll continue to patiently wait.

BTW, Carol. Let's say a GB member spends the night at the Ritz. Would you

THANK YOU for the compliment!!! And we ARE a "smart bunch"! But we DO have one
drawback though...the Witchtower Publishing Corporation has had YEARS of
experience and teams of writers/ lawyers/ and spin doctors to cover up and lie
and deceive everyone and anyone they CAN; compared to us "novices", who's
available "resources" are somewhat limited in struggling to expose the false
teachings and beliefs of the "mighty" Witchtower.
The WTS clearly has the advantage...legally...at present...but for those of us
who KNOW what lying SCAM artists they ARE.....and the legions of truthful exJWs
that are presently working their butts off to show others what the "truth about
the trooth" REALLY is .....it's only a matter of time before the clay feet of
the WTS crumble for good, and then ALL its slimy and devious works will be

The thing is, it's the GOVERNMENT which decides
what to tax. It's the GOVERNMENT which "forces"
people to pay tax, and decides which things are
tax exempt.
Not paying a non-existent obligation doesn't
"force" anyone else to pay more. If the voters
don't like it, they should change the tax laws
to take away the exemptions it currently grants.
The town governments are also responsible for
allowing the WTS to build tax-exempt facilities.
The 'blame' goes to the lawmakers, not to those
who take advantage of legal benefits of the
law.

There are MANY "religious organizations" today that buy property, build
churches, and have paid clergy on the premises to attend to the needs of the
congregations.
All are "tax exempt" and many are struggling despite this...for maintenance
etc. AND, there are MANY that rake in the $$$$$, take care of their bills,
maintenance and paid clergy........
AS WELL AS....supporting soup kitchens, clothing distribution centers,
furniture & appliance centers (where volunteers fix up or recondition things to
eother GIVE or resell at a modest price to ANYONE in the Community.....
JWs LOVE to harp on the Roman Catholic church (and ALWAYS HAVE held them up to
scrutiny on every level possible), and I am NOT one...but dammit, even in our
small town, they have many "fine works" as Christians that Jesus mentioned, and
they have Teen counselling centers, food distributions,
free meals on Holidays, and Catholic Charities has offered OUR family a LOT in
the way of offering free books and videos for handicapped kids (current videos
& Disney-type Movies...not religious stuff)...and there is much MORE I could
list
And this doesn't even touch the Baptist Church and the Methodist Church here
that offer many services to the community too.
THESE are the examples of RELIGIOUS organizations that DESERVE a tax exempt
status...those are are DOING SOMETHING on a COMMUNITY level,,,,HELPING OTHERS,
even those NOT of their "faith".
As an exJW, I respect---no, I ADMIRE their stand and their "people" dedication;
the KIND of dedication that JESUS wanted HIS followers to have for
OTHERS....not just Jehovah's Witnesses!
So all this shit flying around about how NOBLE the JWs are...because they spend
hours and hours knocking on doors to teach OTHERS that THEY'RE religion doesn't
"PLEASE" God, and all that, and that THEY (WTS) are the ONLY ones that DO
please God (GAG)....by accepting the CURRENT beliefs as TRUTH (subject to
CHANGE tomorrow, mind you).......
And KNOWING how much $$$$$$$$ that the WTS rakes in off the blindsheep, and
shovels IN $$$$$$$$ to put up "monuments" (YOU know where) that do NOT benefit
but only a FEW JWs at best...it kinda pisses me off, and screws with the entire
purpose of "tax exemption" for "religions"....all, of course, to the WTS

Oh YES, how well I know! A number of years ago, my husband had a GOOD paying
job, and without notice to the emplyees, the company folded, and we were sunk

he filed the US tax return....he filed the wrong one by MISTAKE as

misfiled to fool the IRS)!
They came here like gangbusters and demanded BOTH of us appear in -------in 4
days.....and they browbeat us and threatened us and said we now owed $4,000 for
taxes and penalties and that he's be in JAIL if we couldn't produce this $$$$$
within 30 calendar days, etc.
My GOD, do you have any idea how it hit us? We had five kids and an eight
year-old car on it's last legs and lived in an old "fixer-upper" we had with a
"rent-to-buy" option.......it tore us UP in SO many ways I cannot even begin to
describe.
So, even people who WANT to pay their taxes and lead honest lives...get treated
like scum when the "taxes" aren't "met" according to the IRS.....
And THEN we have the sterling example of the "ever-so-honest-and-noble"

How do they lose money by df'ing?
For ones like those of us who loyally followed every stinking instruction to
Buy: every book, mag, brochure, yearbook, tape, videotape, tract, etc, to stock
OUR "service bags" (or "personal library") or our kids "service bags' (or
"personal library") as well as every book, publication du jour, study book, TMS
book, every service meeting "need" ....
.to "participate".....and .every freakin book that the WTS deemed as "needed"
by ALL family members..........
When a "parent" of minors hits the exit door....so do the $$$$$$$$$$ of all
those "needed publications"....and THAT counts as lost revenue for the WTS.....
Any more questions on this?

The churches here are also engaged in helping everyone no matter what
religion they are - they are not asked first. The WT does nothing for
anyone but themselves. In fact they're the ONLY group calling themselves a
religion that doesn't have some form of charity, some way to offer help in
the community......

I felt EXACTLY the same way at one time. Carol pissed me off to the point I
wanted to strangle her and what I considered to be her hateful statements that
she raved on and on about---concerning the WTS....that I was blinded by but
didn't know it back then.
There are NOW...as many EXJWS as there are active JWs and the WTS biggest
threat today is the 'net......ONLY because the TRUTH about the "TRUTH" is being
exposed and uncovered and put right out there for all to see....and scrutinize
for themselves....in the privacy of their own homes.
it is KILLING the credibility of the WTS and finally bringing into the
light....all that the WTS has hidden to the sheep all these years.....
Elders are supposed to have the "spiritual interests" of Jesus' sheep as their
primary concern.......The WTS says (LIE) come up with new lite to keep UP with
the lies being exposed......
Elders treat the sheep like mushrooms.......keep them in the dark and feed them
pure shit....and they'll continue to grow......
And they WILL pay the ultimate price....

her lack of integrity. And I believe that some anti's are so blind that they
don't see this as an issue. I know that Carol herself doesn't see it.

You got that right sister. What galls so many of us who SEE what scum they
are at the WT, is the faithful slaves defending them as though they were
saints or angels of some kind. Can Satan and his bad boys actually exist?
Are they infesting all the JWs and blinding them to the truth? How can
they not see what's going on? How can they in good conscience look the
other way? Is that how the evilness of the WT & GB continues to destroy,
kill, ruin people and their families? Destroy the natural love people have
for their own children? I am starting to believe they are truly infested
with those wicked spirits they're always talking about - the JWs sweep an
innocent neighborhood and are like the creatures from "Invasion Of The Body
Snatchers." They plant an evil wicked seed in the person which grows, and
grows and kills whatever makes us human and humane, blinding them, making
them like zombies ....... taking away their will, killing their common
sense, their reasoning ability....

Mark Sorenson did answer about his kids, but he posted 3 or 4 replies in the
original thread that didn't answer the question, saying in essence that he
would reply when he could get to it. He also made numerous other posts in
this NG before he posted his answer. so Carol (and I) ass-u-med that he was
avoiding the question.
I still haven't seen the reply posted in the NG, but I did follow his google
link to it . The thread did get rather long and cumbersome to scroll
through, so that may have been part of the problem.
I have however, been looking for a reply to my questions about whether or
not he would allow or encourage his children to go to college, and I
haven't seen a reply as of yet.

I know....it sounds as if we're being facetious here, but there IS more truth
in this than people would care to believe or face.
Twisting scripture to their own "ends", having no natural affection for family
memebers who disagree with ever-changing WTS policy, little or no "hands on"
community services offered to needy folks......just a blind obedience to
whatever the WTS says or does.......it IS frightening even though we tend to
make light of it in desperation sometimes.

Mark------I didn't see it either, and I looked, especially so that I wouldn't
look foolish by chiming in and saying or agreeing that he didn't post a reply.
When he DID post the google link, MY server (not HIS fault) wouldn't pick it
up.....so I still haven't seen it. But it wasn't all that important to me to
begin with.....it wasn't MY question I wanted answered.

I did reply to that -- but I admitted that I
deliberately gave you a non-answer.
It boils down to me never telling other people
(except family and close friends) my personal
