Yes, this is true; in fact, there are said to be, by anthropoligists,
hundreds
of estimated pagan myths that have a single figure, like Noah, who
brought his family, as sole survivors; through a flood that wiped out the
world!
But, the biblical account is more accurate.
Did you know that there was a popular "MYSTERY" cult before and after
Jesus sorrounding a mythological figure called Tammuz; a godlike being
who is said to have died, and resurrected from the dead!
Yes, and cynics hassle us about to this day!
But, Jesus is differant. He is "Incarnate God".
Did you know that Saturday Night Live's "Church Lady" exposed
Santa Claus as being....Satan? Indeed, if you take the letters that
form the word, "Santa"; and apply it as a code to solve...it comes out
to be "Satan".
Yes, but actually Santa is just some silly little way we relate to children
about giving gifts to them. Saint Nicholaus is said to have given children
toys, children who were very poor. This does not mean that Santa is a "god"
that people worship, anymore than "mickey mouse" is a "god" that people
worship.
Actually, we do not let people worship him, because then we would have to
pay them a lot more money.

Even if I do celebrate Christmas I would NEVER lie to my child and tell him
about some figure that comes down a chimney. How could they ever respect me
when I've lied to them? How could I tell them that it's not OKAY to lie?

It is said to be so, I doubt that he went down chimneys in the winter though.

So because Americans use the name Santa means that he is Satan himself?
Thank God we have comedy TV programmes to enlighten us all the the perils of
life. I wonder if Frasier will deliver some meaningful insight into the
Scriptures in this weeks episode?

coming at Christmas has continued in his honour.

Sorry but Father Christmas, or Santa Claus, was dressed in green until Coca
Cola released an advertising campain in which he was dressed in the Coca
Cola colours - red and white. Coca Cola still own the trademark of the red
and white Santa.

While I am glad that you have a sense of humour; although, I am
surprised that more people have not noticed that a number of my articles are
given, partly with tongue in cheek; I simply would not know how someone
could seriously judge someone else because they choose to or not to
celebrate a harmless holiday; when Paul so clearly writes, "Let no one judge
you on this matter".
While I may be judged by people who use such standards, there is
really nothing I can do about it; except perhaps to plead with them to focus
their judgements on things of importance, rather than on things of no
importance.
As to the Santa myth, I personally do not like the idea of telling
someone that there is a Santa, when there really is not. I have avoided
doing so myself, but I saw no reason to break it to my little girl that
there is no Santa; when others had perpetuated it.
As far as I can see, disobeying Scripture, and judging people
based on holidays is far worse than using some imaginary Santa so as to give
gifts anonymously. Far worse. What I see as even worse is accusing these
billions of people of worshipping devils, or so such implying, with as many
words; merely because they wish to have some holidays in their year.
Notice I do not condemn you for not perpetuating the "Santa myth";
nor, would I condemn you for abstaining absolutely from Christmas, if in
fact, you do so. But, I can not but help people who would accuse the world
on such silly matters. When there are so many real problems in the world.

man exists in childrens fantasies today. Even though you indicate he
originally wore green and that the red suit came from Cocca Cola? This is
utter rubbish. St. Nicholas always wore a red suit before C&C was ever
thought of and in fact before the USA ever existed.
Are you familiar with Martin Luther? If so then you must be aware the he
above all other great reformers did more in introducing the Christmas we
have today than anyone else as a family affair especially for the young.
