Asalamalikum from brother habib imam ! WOW No anti-muslim obsceneties for 3
straight days !! I bet Muslims are abandoning Islam in droves, their
collective sighs of joy calming my rage !!! Anyway here I excerpt a term
paper I had written 4 my Theater 101 class 4 years ago. (May I inquire if
anyone can put this up on a site such as Jai's Jayate site ??? Preferably
after due verification of historical facts ??)

Hollywood, and in general commercial cinema worldwide, produces a lot of crap
and a few good ones. Either way, it makes a HUGE amount of money and holds
HUGE mindshare in the entire world, and Most Importantly, has transformed the
Motion Picture into the most potent communication medium in Human History.
The mega success of Hollywood (and similiar genre) worldwide is attributed to
the uncanny REALISM and PROFESSIONALISM of its actors, sets and marketers. It
achieves total SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF, forever hypnotizing and enfranchising
every veiwer...

That Jewish business and creative genius made Hollywood what it is, is well
known. But, would u believe Hollywood owes the original roots of this MEGA
success formula directly to HINDUISM ??!!! Its true !! Read on to find out
how...

The core techniques of Realism and Suspension of Disbelief, are collectively
called METHOD ACTING. This (or variations thereof) is used by every single
actor WORLDWIDE (Hollywood esply). Method Acting, or simply The Method was
invented and pioneered by a Russian genius actor/director Konstantin
Stanislavsky (1868-1938). Lee Strasborg and Stella Adler learnt it from
Stanislavski and brought it to Hollywood. Eventually EVERY Hollywood actor
(Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, Robert Di Niro, Dustin Hoffman, even pretty
faces Marylin Monroe and Tom Cruise) are students of this method. So where is
the Hindu origin of Method acting ??

Up until Stanislavski, ALL world theater and cinema was based on classical
Greek techniques - very ornamental, heavitly musical, operatic. But this also
made it elitist and mass audiences found it boring. Stanislavski a brilliant
theatrical genius, found that with classical acting, he could do no justice to
Chekov, Tolstoy and other writers of intense human condition.

So to achieve realism in actors and achieve total audience rapport with
suspension of disbelief, he decided to induce temporary but intense states of
emotional and psychological openness in the actors. In this state, the actors
wud strive to TOTALLY BECOME the character they depict, in body and mind,
instead of just merely PLAYING the role. Now this was fine as a concept but he
found actors just COULD NOT open their minds consistently enuf to TRANSMUTE
into another imaginary person. This is when Stanislavsky remembered some HINDU
RIGVEDIC/YOGIC psycho-sprititual techniques he had learnt when he lived on LEO
TOLSTOY's communes.

Tolstoy had founded his communes as a socio-cultural refuge from the tyranny
of the Czar and the Church. These communes also attracted North Indians (esp
Afghans), Iranians (Bahaii, Zoroaster), Georgians, Armenians, Jews and other
European and Asian peoples fleeing despotic Islamic and christian colonial
empires of the Ottomans and other European powers. In the communes, Tolstoy
(and Stanislavsky) and others synthesized the humanistic aspects of otherwise
despotic religions (Islam and Orthodox Christianity) into a
spiritual/mystical syncrecy based on practice of expressive ritual, sensory
modulation, symbol worship, and direct psycho-spirtual connection with each
other and God.

The core practices of daily life in Tolstoy communes were - VOLUNTARY
VEGETARIANISM and HINDU RIGVEDIC practices of RYTHMIC CHANTING, YOGA,
PRANAYAMA, MEDITATION, SENSORY OCCLUSION/MODULATION and AVATARIC TRANCE
INDUCTION !!! As is well known, Tolstoy was heavily influenced by Hinduism and
Buddhism, which actually made him rebel against Christian and Czarist tyranny
in the first place. Descendants of such mystical comunes exist even today
worldwide (Dukhobors in Canada, Molokans in Turkey and other such).

These essentially Hindu practices, Stanislavsky found, could transform any
person's mind into an intense psycho-spiritual state of openness,
receptiveness, connectedness and empathy with other people as well as even
the inanimate environment. This was precisely the state of mind actors needed
to be in, in order to TRANSMUTE into the characters they play, instead of
just animating the role.

So Stanislavsky evolved a systematic set of techniques borrowed from Rigvedic
Hinduism and Tantric Buddhism - pranayamic breathing, rythmic chant-like
reading, kinesthetic sequences similiar to Tai-Chi, meditative imagery
induction, self-analysis, sensory occlusion and sensory transmutation (truely
FEEL like a blind person) ... and so on.

The success of plays and movies based on this Hinduism derived acting
technique, spread like wildfire worldwide, and the rest, as they say, is
History. Remember to thank Hinduism, every time u watch such astonishing
performances as Meryl Streep in Bridges of Madison County, Dustin Hoffman in
RainMan, Robert Di Niro in Raging Bull, Al Pacino in Godfather, Marlon Brando
in Last Temptation of Christ, or Denzel Washington in Malcom X.

So there, brothers, is how the modern mega-billion dollar movie industry (incl
Hollywood) owes it to Hinduism and (why am i not surprised) the Jewish
community that so successfully adopted and propagated Stanislavsky's Hinduism
derived Method Acting.
