My question for one is if he thinks money is evil, why did the dude
study a Law degree from the University of Sydney?
The Evangelical Union should probably be renamed to "Anglican Union"
because that's what the group consists of.
This is only my opinion, and you may want to hear some of his
preaching.

Geoffrey Lin (also known as Geoff Lin) representing the Christian Club
at the University of Adelaide (ES Adelaide, short for Evangelical
Students) and the Atheist Club had a "battle" of words to see feat as
to whether God was "dead" or not.
Obviously, the Athiest Club pulled no punches and made it clear that
God could not be "dead" since he was never "alive"; however, even IF
he was alive, he was now "dead" because the unneed of Him (God) in
modern society.
Anyway, you can see the full clip (there are three) on YouTube; in
which Geoff Lin (the Christian Worker) infamously loses to the Athiest
teenager. However, as with much Anglican propoganda, Lin retains his
smile and "smirks" at the video camera ending the session with a huge
applause from the Christian group, despite his obviously flawed
argument for the need of God.
Lin's argument was based on the fact that people in the modern world
face hurt, and that if there was no God, there was nobody to get the
agent of hate back. Obviously, this argument clearly shows reason man
MADE God (and God did not make man), however.
PS: Geoff Lin has a degree in Law, and is a pastor at Holy Trinity
Adelaide (Anglican Church).

It totally beats me why Reuben Salagaras would have studied Law/
Engineering, but
most possibly because it's one of the more difficult subjects at
University, so he wanted to up his respect.
I felt that as a leader he was arrogant, he always thought he was
right, like Geoff Lin, studied law for the pride (which is
unbiblical). His life was full of holes.
He then felt that he could only feel loved from Ministry, so pursued
that.
Another example of a person who has created God in His image, rather
than believing He was created in God's image. No wonder you see so
many arrogant and proud Anglican ministers who have Law degrees but
never practice it. I think it may also extend to the fact he found
that his life wasn't "clean" and that he would have to disclose "Sins"
that he didn't want to...

I've been attending the University of Adelaide Christian group on-and-
off for the past three years; I've graduated as of December 2008. And
I have to report it was an utter waste of time. It did not challenge
me; the principles that were discussed were not thought-provoking and
the arguments put forward were simply not strong.
As a girl however, I was assigned to a "small group" (also known as a
"cell group" by some Churches) and I was led by Miriam (she has since
been married, and is now Miriam Telfer, or maybe it's Miriam Telfa).
Her father was apparently a
lecturer at the University of Adelaide. Anyway, for what it's worth, I
was never contacted other than the ocassional automatic-email, and for
someone who was at-the-time studying "Nursing" (as I recall), I
obviously didn't feel very well "nursed" in the group. The group was
sectarian and I can only compare it to the "Exclusive Brethren" sect
in Adelaide. Anyway, the feeling that I got from it was everybody (all
the "Christians") would be in a group dancing; and I would be left
out. As I recall she was from St Matthew's Church in Kensington, which
is a mainstream Anglican Church of Australia, which makes it all-the-
more surprising, considering this evangelical denomination often
boasts of its "fellowship" with people - obviously they are referring
to other Christians, rather than people in general.
Miriam shared things with me that are too private to put on a public
forum (and I will get in trouble for confidentiality breach), but
Miriam Telfer was let's just say not as "clean" as we all might think.
She did some pretty "naughty" things to say the least. I think she was
hypocritical. I think she's faking a lot of her life. I think she was
a rubbish leader. As a leader Miriam Telfer freaked the absolute hell
out of me in our small group session. I think she must have paranoid
schizophrenia or something. She was telling me a ghost was out to get
me; contradicted herself and said that ghosts dont exist. Miracles
dont happen. freakin sociopath, the woman is.
The other person that really caught my attention was Reuben Salagaras,
who was at that time the president of EU Adelaide (now known as ES
Adelaide). Reuben Salagaras would always make a point. Contradict it.
Sounds like he has schizophrenia.
Mark Peterson was the person in charge of the music, and they tried to
sing songs that sounded like pop songs to attract people for the sake
of it. The group would always argue about what to sing and what not to
sing. It wasn't that great-an-atmosphere, in my opinion, for any
intrapersonal growth, if you look at it from the perspective of
Maslow's Hiearchy of Needs.
Mark Peterson spent all of his time trying to convince everybody music
was "evil". (how ridiculous, God made music!). He always would use the
example of a U2 concert which makes you feel "awesome". How
interesting, for the Anglican Church has created many priests who are
"feeling" children. He has this heretical belief of a dichotomy
between flesh and spirit (that the more spiritual you want to be, the
less "flesh" you have to be). These people also believe that Jesus was
not human because if he was human he cannot be godly (this group
includes muslims). Therefore, the more "godlier" you want to be, the
less "music" you should have in yoru service. RIDICULOUS!
Mark Peterson is IRRELEVANT, he is ARROGANT, cocky, he has strong
opinions, little empirical evidence. Thinks he's great, doesn't live
up to the hype. He's not a great instrument player. He looks like he's
got a psychological issue; doesn't seem to understand he BAGS music,
but then PLAYS music. Sounds like he might have schizophrenia.
