Does anybody know? Is there really a valley by that name in Tibet? Or
is Shangta a corruption of the mythical region Shangri-La ./
Shamballa?

gently guided from a lamasery, enclosed in the western end of the

Another name for Shangri-La is Shamballa ... which is connected to
Sanat Kumara ... which is connected with Sufi El-Khdir - “the green
one,” and "eternal youth”. (Sanat Kumara was also said to mean
"eternal youth").

Valley of Shangta? The name Shangta sounds Chinese.

Is this the same as Shanghai, China? Not sure. Shanghai and Tibet
don't appear to be close, but there is a train.

So where is a record of this Shangta Valley? It's supposed to be near
the Katsupari Monastery in northern Tibet. Maybe by the Buika Magna
Mountains (also in northern Tibet)?
