Remember when forming Eckankar, Paul Twitchell talked about the need for an ideal? He wrote about this in Letters to Gail.
I wonder what were Paul Twitchell's ideals? What persons did he idealize? I mean, while living on SRF grounds and later while a Ruhani Satsang initiate.
How can ideals serve as spiritual aids?
There are lots of facets to explore about this, I am mainly introducing the topic.
(BTW Fife. This is how you create a topic for discussion and invite spiritual insights.)
Other questions to ponder perhaps are:
What happens when the ideal dies?
What happens when an assumed literally true ideal is exposed as fiction?
How does Eckankar deal with death of ideals? What, if any, is the advice? And do the masters talk about this? Was it mentioned in any of the Paul Twitchell books, or copied materials?
O.K. Enough from me. I hope this turns out to be a good discussion.
