ZADOK, JESUS AND ECKANKAR FACT SHEET
1.) Zadok was a high priest in the time of David and supported
David in the time of conflict.
2.) Zadok then fled with his family to Egypt, set up a Temple
(in Leontopolis, which survived for
200 years and then went underground) there and founded a
mystical school of thought or an inner
core consciousness.
3.) Zadok was an admirer of Hilel (the reformer).
4.) When Zadok fled to Egypt, he set up his own school of
thought and his descendants and
followers were called Yehozedk, or sons of Zadok, or just plain
Zadok.
5.) Juda's Aaronite counterpart was known as Saddouk, a
paraphrase of (son of) Zadok or
Zaddik (the just.)
6.) Zadok was grafted into the family of Aaron Levites,
Aaronids and Zadokites were all children
of Levi, according to OT and HB.
7.) The sons of Zadok were children of Aaron but became
separated.
8.) Zadokites left for Egypt in 160 BCE, during the Hellenistic
crisis..
9.) Sadducee were supporters of the Zadokites of the Aaronid
priesthood.
10.) The first set scrolls of Qumran were buried in 63 or 64
BCE
11.) The Qumran was in the hands of the Sadducees for safe
keeping and burial.
12.) John the Baptist, called Yochanan the Essene, was a Levite
and a direct descendent of Zadok (and
in that community they called him Zadok or son of Zadok), son
of the priest Zacharias and
Elisabeth, cousin of Mary, mother of Jesus, was a Nazarite by
birth, but was raised in an Essene
wilderness community 8 miles from Qumran (where the scrolls
were originally written and hidden
in the caves). See Luke 1:80. They refer to themselves as "The
Wilderness" and they called their
movement "The Way"
13) The Qumran lived in these caves, had a scriptorium and had
a cemetery of over 1000 souls.
14) The caves were 5 miles from where John the Baptist was
baptizing in the River Jordan. John
the Baptist was raised in the very community who wrote the Dead
Sea Scrolls.
15.) John the Baptist and his disciples relocated themselves to
Bethabara, 8 miles from Qumran.
This new group became a John the Baptist Sect which is in
existence to this day.
16.) A careful study of Essene literature and documents will
show the principles of the Light,
Sound and a Living Master. In fact the original writings of the
Apostles Thomas, Mary M., etc., were filled with the principles
of light and sound as the true god-head and thus were controversial to
the status quo.
17.) There were many diaries or gospels that were left out of
the Bible, as well as main stream religious thought and
were simply not taught and disregarded as heresy, because of it's
content.
At one point in history were ordered burned by the clergy, for
obvious reasons.
18.) For an example, Thomas (Didymus=Twin of Jesus) went (as
well as other places) to India, and a place called the land
of the 4 rivers, which we know today as the Punjab (the beginnings of
Shabda Yoga) Thomas preached the principles of light and
sound there and was very successful.
19.) Draw your own inferences and conclusions.
