"After traveling extensively throughout the United States, Neville eventually made his home in Los Angeles where, in the 1950s, he gave a series of talks on television and radio, and for many years lectured regularly to capacity audiences at the Wilshire Ebell Theater[16]. In the 1960s and early 1970s, he confined most of his lectures to Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco."

About Neville's teacher:

"It was Abdullah who taught Neville how to use the law of consciousness and how to see the Bible psychologically. And as Neville began to see the world as a picture world, projected from within, his faith in himself grew."

More about his publicity.

"I am at a loss for dates here, but I do know that during the early years of the 1950′s Neville had his own television program. He made two phonograph records during those years which are now available on (Audio CD) cassette tape. He also debated with teams of ministers, priests and rabbis on special television programs."

The Key to Eckankar 1868-1985-1992

Authorized ECKANKAR edition.

Foreword/Introduction is by Harold Klemp, the Mahanta the Living ECK
Master.

[ CAPS added in and used for emphasis, not for shouting ]

Introduction

First printed in 1968 the KTE was one of the EARLY books that
introduced people to that wonderful Tibetan ECK Master, Rebazar
Tarzs.

His CONVERSATION with Paul is a HISTORICAL DOCUMENT that reflects Paul
Twitchell's state of consciousness at that time.

This book proved to be a stabilizing FORCE in the lives of early ECK
initiates.

A small but IMPORTANT book, it is a good start for the individual who
wants to MEASURE HIMSELF alongside Paul, who is certain to be reckoned
as the spiritual GIANT OF HIS AGE.

In the first few pages, Rebazar TALKS interchangeably of the SUGMAD
(God) and the ECK (Holy Spirit). We know the difference between the
Source of all life, and ITS voice.

Rebazar WAS referring to the Divine Principle that created our
consciousness, and how IT relates to us here and now.

Heady reading, the DIALOGUE between Rebazar Tarzs and Paul is best
read a little at a time. One may then REFLECT upon the statements that
seem to be OBSCURE.

But EVERY WORD in this CONVERSATION is important, for REBAZAR outlines
the struggles one faces when he comes into the full scope of God-
Realization.

This is VITAL KNOWLEDGE for all who are destined to enter into God
Consciousness and survive on earth as Co-workers with God.

A central point is that ALL knowledge and wisdom are NEVER given to A
Soul.

This PLUS factor in ECK rekindles the light of exploration and
adventure.

Even the ECK Masters high in the spiritual hierarchy are still
learning thc SUGMAD's ways. The worlds of God are ever expanding, and
no limits of time or space can contain them or the Souls who dwell
there.

How important IS the READING of books and attendance at lectures and
classes on truth'?

Rebazar says that the individual FIRST has to GET ... "the CORRECT
LETTER OF TRUTH" ... BEFORE he can LIVE in the SPIRIT OF TRUTH.

HE tells how this is DONE.

This CLASSIC book from the EARLY years of ECKANKAR is to be read
THOUGHTFULLY.

If read and CONTEMPLATED upon by someone who LOVES TRUTH, The Key to
ECKANKAR will show him THE WAY into the loving, but fragile, marriage
with the Holy ECK.

PERHAPS HE will IN TIME become A SPIRITUAL GIANT TOO.

Sri Harold Klemp

---

Beginning on page 1 ....

Rebazar Tarzs, the great ECK master, is one of the SPIRITUAL GIANTS OF
ALL TIMES. I KNOW this for he has been with me a LONG TIME.

[ see notes below re Nov 1964 God Eaters article - see LTG 3 letters
during 1964 ]

He is about five feet eleven inches tall and talks in a deep
monotone.
In his maroon robe, close-cropped hair, and
black beard, he might be mistaken for a monk in many places.

I have always had a deep respect for him. I first heard about
this strange Adept, a Tibetan high lama reported to be over five
hundred years old, from my first spiritual Master, Sri Sudar Singh,
at Allahabad, India.

[ Why is Sudar Singh NOT mentioned in Harold Klemp's book .. Those
wonderful ECK Masters? Not mentioned in the Cosmic Sea of Words -
Glossary? Paul Twitchell labelled Sri Sudar Singh as an ECK Master,
HIS own first ECK master long before he says he met or knew of RT, or
Yauble Sacabi, or Fubbi Quantz, or any of the others. ]

He has ALWAYS been with me in some manner or another.

My PERSONAL acquaintance with him BEGAN several years ago in the
foothills of the Himalayas near Darjeeling.

Since then, he has been near, DICTATING much material about ECKANKAR
to be given to the world.

Years ago when I returned from England [1959] and went to the
northwest to live in [late 1960 in] Seattle, Washington, Rebazar Tarzs
spent considerable TIME with me in HIS PHYSICAL BODY.

It was a case of his MANIFESTING suddenly in HIS BODY and giving a
series of TALKS on ECKANKAR, which were to be related to the world.

Finally, one night in late winter, [theoretically can be no later than
February 1963] he wound up the series.

I have tried, as best as possible, to SUMMARISE the TALKS here.

* * *

Rebazar Tarzs WALKED with me in the PARK during the late evening. The
wind was chilling and the sky filled with lonely
stars ......................

END OF DIRECT QUOTES

===================

Paul's first public mention of the word Eckankar was in July 1963.
Paul's first mention of the name Rebazar Tarzu was not until Nov 1964,
almost 2 years after Feb 1963; and 13 years AFTER his claims that he
first met RT personally in Darjeeling in 1951.

In the interim, Paul did mention publicly the following people::

Satguru Sudar Singh, Sant Kirpal Singh, Premamanda, his Bible was the
Sar Barchan written by Shiv Dayal Singh of RS, Rama, Guru Nanak,
Kabir, Hafiz, Rumi, Shams-i-Tabriz, Socrates, Blake, The Buddha,
Shakespeare, Daniel Boone, EG Byron, Paine, Rimbaud, Lawrence of
Arabia, Henry Miller, Ghandi, Thoreau, Baird Spaldings the Masters of
the Far East, Madame Blavatsky was at Agam Des, the Great White
Brotherhood, Sufis, Plato, and Brown Landone.

Not one reference whatsoever about a Rebazar Tarzs, DESPITE apparently
him being .. the great ECK master, one of the SPIRITUAL GIANTS OF ALL
TIMES. and Paul knowing this BECAUSE RT had been with him a LONG TIME.

Some people may be interested in knowing precisely why it is that
Harold Klemp is presenting COMPLETELY FALSE INFORMATION about Paul
Twitchell, about the character Rebazar Tarzs, and about Eckankar in
his Foreword.

I do not know. Best take it up with him directly. His contact details
are on the Eckankar website.

Alternatively, for those wishing to side-step Eckankar entirely,

NOTES:

This scanned booklet is of the 1992: 2nd Edition Print.

Originally published in 1968, this text represents an in-hindsight
"story/report" by Paul when he was in Seattle WA, circa 1961-1963.

This text was edited and redacted in 1985 by Eckankar, with several
changes made, some are obvious, others less so. The Introduction by
Harold Klemp is excluded here.

We do not have an original '68 version, but would welcome a copy being
provided to be shared with others.

We do not know (at this time) on what date the original book was first
printed. But we do know that terms such as ECK Master, and the living
ECK Master were only introduced to chelas post summer in late 1968.

Terms such as: MAHANTA & SUGMAD and other redacted words appear not to
be found within Eckankar terminology until early 1969. The Shariyat-Ki-
Sugmad, Book One, was not published until 1970 however this
publication is mentioned specifically within the text of this print as
well.

All the above appear not to be in Paul's vernacular in 1961-63, when
one sees his other works at that time.

The first known public mention of the name "Rebazar Tarzu", later
changed by Paul to "Tarzs", was in Nov 1964, in Pauls "The God-Eaters"
article published in The Psychic Observer magazine.

It is known that sections of this text have clear correspondences to
Neville Goddards "The Power of Awareness" 1952, and also some from
Hubbards Scientology pre-1960 texts.

http://www.archive.org/details/ThePowerOfAwareness

Despite all the above, this booklet still holds immense value to the
ALERT history and/or spiritual enquirer.

The SRI HAROLD KLEMP, The Mahanta, the Living ECK Master FAQ SAYS:

What about claims that the modern-day founder of Eckankar, Paul
Twitchell, BORROWED FREELY from OTHER AUTHORS in writing HIS Eckankar
BOOKS?

The golden threads of the ECK teachings had been scattered around the
world down through the ages.

Some were in books and manuscripts NO LONGER remembered or KNOWN by
the general PUBLIC.

Remote writings, LITTLE-KNOWN TRUTHS, and the most accurate parts of
what had been given in THE PAST were gathered up by Paul Twitchell—
honed, refined, and focused so THE PUBLIC could benefit directly from
THE PURE eck teachings TODAY.

He was a MASTER COMPILER.

Because of HIS WORK and HIS writings, the AGELESS teachings of the
Light and Sound are now at YOUR FINGERTIPS.

Paul Twitchell's Eckankar book The Key to Eckankar was copyright 1968.
Neville Goddard's book was copyright 1952.

Now, What are the dates for these "Talks" by Ramana?

The whole Vedanta is contained in the two Biblical statements: “I am that
I AM” and “Be still and know that I am God” (Talks, 307).

All that is required to realize the Self is to “Be Still.” (Talks, 345).

Be still and know that I AM GOD. “Stillness” here means “Being free
from thoughts.” (Talks, 458).

The only permanent thing is Reality; and that is the Self. You say, “I am,” “I am going,” “I am speaking,” “I am working,” etc. Hyphenate “I am” in all of them. Thus I–AM, That is the abiding and fundamental Reality.
This truth was taught by God to Moses: “I AM that I-AM.” “Be still and
know that I–AM God.” So “I–AM” is God. (Talks, 487).

"Ramana had considerable knowledge of Christ and his teachings. But Ramana interprets Christ’s sayings in Hindu terms and experience."

http://www.members.shaw.ca/abhishiktananda/jivanmukti.pdf

Neville's teacher was Abdullah, an Ethiopian Jew? And he seemed to be familiar with the teachings of Christ too. As were a lot of other people.

I AM is the self-definition of the absolute, the foundation on which
everything rests. I AM is the first cause-substance. I AM is the self-
definition of God.

I AM has sent me unto you.

I AM THAT I AM

Be still and know that I AM God.

I AM is a feeling of permanent awareness. The very center of
consciousness is the feeling of I AM. I may forget who I am, where I
am, what I am, but I cannot forget that I AM. The awareness of being
remains, regardless of the degree of forgetfulness of who, where, and
what I am.

I AM is that which, amid unnumbered forms, is ever the same. This great discovery of cause reveals that, good or bad, man is actually the arbiter of his own fate, and that it is his concept of himself that determines the world in which he lives [and his concept of himself is his reactions to life].*In other words, if you are experiencing ill health, knowing the truth about cause, you cannot attribute the illness to anything other than to the particular arrangement of the basic cause-substance, an arrangement which [was produced by your reactions to life, and] is defined by your concept "I am unwell." This is why you are told "Let the weak man say, 'I am strong' " (joel 3:10), for by his assumption, the cause-substance - I AM - is rearranged and must, therefore, manifest that which its rearrangement affirms. This principle governs every aspect of your life, be it social, financial, intellectual, or spiritual.

I AM is that reality to which, whatever happens, we must turn for an
explanation of the phenomena of life. It is I AM's concept of itself that determines the form and scenery of its existence. Everything depends upon its attitude towards itself; that which it will not affirm as true of itself cannot awaken in its world. That is, your concept of yourself, such as "I am strong," "I am secure," "I am loved, " determines the world in which you live. In other words, when you say, " I am a man, I am a father, I am an American," you are not defining different l AMs; you are defining different concepts or arrangements of the one cause-substance - the one I AM. Even in the phenomena of nature , if the tree were articulate it would say , "I am a tree, an apple tree, a fruitful tree. "

When you know that consciousness is the one and only reality - conceiving itself to be something good, bad, or indifferent, and becoming that which It conceived itself to be - you are free from the tyranny of second causes, free from the belief that there are causes outside of your own mind that can affect your life.

In the state of consciousness of the individual is found the explanation of the phenomena of life. If man's concept of himself were different, everything m his world would be different. His concept of himself being what it is, everything in his world must be as it is. [....]

mediocrity, the credulous skepticism, and the stupid, stuffy pretense
of being something we are not. It is I AM's concept of Itself that determines the form and scenery of Its existence. Everything depends upon Its attitude towards Itself: that which It will not affirm as true of Itself cannot awaken in Its world.

"Remember this statement, for it will come up time and again. Now, your concept of yourself as Soul, such as 'I am loved,' determines the world in which you live. In other words, when you say, 'I am a man; I am a follower of ECKANKAR,' you are not defining different parts of the l AM, ; but defining different concepts or arrangements of the one cause-substance - the one I AM. Such occurrences of words purportedly by Rebazar Tarzs are not uncommon in my experience, and illustrate a written record of Paul Twitchell's Rebazar Tarzs.

I illustrate these things because some people are unaware. As once was I. And yet this record is an important historical document.

Harold Klemp, the current leader of Eckankar - in his "Introduction" for The Key to ECKANKAR - begins thus:

"First printed in 1968, The Key to ECKANKAR was one of the early books that introduced people to that wonderful Tibetan ECK Master, Rebazar Tarzs. His conversation with Paul is a historical document that reflects Paul Twitchell's state of consciousness at that time."

Based on" The Key to ECKANKAR, by Paul Twitchell, Copyright 1968, 1985
ECKANKAR, Fifth Printing - 2003, p. 1.

That was a quote from the first paragraph of Introduction section. In
paragraph three Harold Klemp writes again about Rebazar Tarzs.

"In the first few pages, Rebazar talks interchangeably of the SUGMAD (God) and the ECK (Holy Spirit). We know the difference between the Source of all life, and ITS voice. Rebazar was referring to the Divine principle that created our consciousness, and how it relates to us here and now."

Based on" The Key to ECKANKAR, by Paul Twitchell, Copyright 1968, 1985
ECKANKAR, Fifth Printing - 2003, p. 1.

Not only does the Introduction by Harold Klemp include "Rebazar talks ... ." It has also: "Rebazar was referring to ... ."

Is this Harold Klemp speaking for Rebazar Tarzs? or what Rebazar Tarzs
meant?

Note that Harold Klemp writes "In the first few pages, Rebazar talks
interchangeably of the SUGMAD (God) and the ECK (Holy Spirit)."

OK?

The first few pages of the book The Key to ECKANKAR that I quoted from
are pages 3, 4 and 5.

What I did not illustrate for this post were The Key to ECKANKAR pp. 3-4, or the 1st page of Neville's work. This can be added here as well, or at least the part where Rebazar Tarzs begins to speak about "God" and "Spirit" - compared with Chapter One, page 1, of Neville's book.

I don't have time to prepare the rest of these illustrations right now. However, I tag this post Mystique.

Let's NOT forget this other DIRECTLY RELATED fact about Paul Brunton, who gets a mention in Harold Klemps talks about the Astral Library and Paul Twitchell's writings on the Eckankar website.

QUOTE by PAUL BRUNTON .. the exact same MO used by Paul Twitchell througout his own writings:

"It will therefore be clear to perspicacious readers that I used his [Ramana's] name and attainments as a convenient peg upon which to hang an account of what meditation meant to me. The principal reason for this procedure was that it constituted a convenient literary device to secure the attention and hold the interest of western readers, who would naturally give more serious consideration to such a report of the “conversion” of a seemingly hard headed critically -minded Western journalist to yoga. 6"

See Harold's *dream diary story*, same may call it Spin, others may label it far worse; this talk was given in early 1984 AFTER Harold Klemp finally got to see *behind the scenes of Paul Twitchell* via his Manuscript & Personal archive sold to Eckankar by Gail Twitchell in July 1982.

This time was when Harold himself was confronted with the REAL TRUTH about Paul's writings. Harold went into SHOCK, and had much difficulty in the matching the FACTS up with his own Beliefs about the teachings, including a the biggest shock being his very own POSITION as the then Living ECK master.

Harold Klemp goes on to talk about the *loss of an Ideal* and the Grief process that includes *tell me it isn't so* , and the natural ANGER that comes up from being deceived, and believing what another had told them and swallowing it WHOLE.

Right up to today 2012 Harold Klemp STILL is referring to Rebazar Tarzs as actually being on the banks of the River in the SBTR book and talking to Paul there in India. It matters not one whit if this is a Soul Travel experience or for real, but the FACTS show that Stranger by the River is likewise PLAGIARISED materials from Radhasoami and the Bible, and many other Authors.

Harold spoke to the chelas about this *loss of an ideal* for he saw with his own eyes the PROOF of these use of other writers texts, and has had almost 30 years since to look at it over and over again, and yet still Harold Klemp is not telling the Membership of Eckankar the true Facts, nor the truth as he KNOWS IT to be.

Harold Klemp had the full responsibility and held the ONLY Authority to decide what would do about what HE KNEW in 1984, and he made his choices.

Thus he leaves made up deceitful fantasy stories up on the Eckankar website like the following:

The Inner-Plane Library System
I'd like to conclude by mentioning how the libraries on the inner planes work. On these planes there are main libraries connected to the wisdom temples. But there are also many branch libraries.

There are very few writers who can come to this library. Most of the writers from earth go to the branch libraries, so they don't get to use the best sources. But the good researchers—such as Paul, Julian Johnson, Paul Brunton, and others—can come in here and select the paragraphs that suit their audience. A certain key concept will be expressed, such as a certain aspect of spiritual liberation.

I'm doing all this research in a soundproof booth so it doesn't disturb the other people who are doing research. As I look over at a table, I see Paul—busy as usual, researching and writing. He looks at me and says, kind of gruffly, "What's that?"

"Source manuscripts," I say.

"For what?" he asks.

"For a lot of the ECK writings to be done on earth," I reply.

"Oh," he says. "Well, we'll have to do something about that someday." Then he picks up his notebook and leaves, heading out into the stacks.

Yeah, I thought to myself, and I know who is going to have to do something about that someday!

28 years later - Harold Klemp has still done NOTHING to this day.

There is not one case in the writings of Paul Twitchell that where he places dictation or words into the mouths of *Eck Masters* that has NOT been taken from some other pre-existing TEXT written by others.

NOT ONCE

There has only ever been ONE Living or *Vairagi* ECK Master on this planet and that one was Paul Twitchell himself.

Harold Klemp is still trying to get over the shock and the grief of having his OWN personal beliefs shattered about HIMSELF and Eckankar in 1984.

Yáll have a nice day, ya hear? :-)

Sounds like 1984 was a watershed moment.

What is a watershed moment?

Answer:

A critical turning point.
What it is actually is a moment in time where everything changes. A point in time when nothing after will ever be the same as before. To call it a turning point technically is true, but it is an overly simplistic definition of the phrase.

The figurative meaning comes from the literal meaning of a point, or division in a river, or stream where the river is split into two distinct paths that will not intersect again
