Lai Tsi and King David were contemporaries, living around 1000 BC. Psalm 25,
which is similar to the Prayer of Lai Tsi, is ascribed to King David. Where
did Lai Tsi get his prayer? From within. Where did King David get his psalm?
From within. Did they perhaps get their words from the same Source? By
becoming One with the Living Scripture behind all written scriptures? Might
they have met in Spirit on the inner planes? Might Lai Tsi, an Eck Master,
have taught the prayer to King David, warrior and celebrated hero of his
people, in the dream state?
The Prayer of Lai Tsi
Show me Thy ways, O SUGMAD;
Teach me Thy path.
Lead me inThy truth, and teach me;
On Thee do I wait all day.
Remember, O Beloved, Thy guiding light
And Thy loving care.
For it has been ever Thy will,
To lead the least of Thy servants to Thee!
Psalm 25:4-6
Shew me thy ways, O LORD;
teach me thy paths.
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me:
for thou art the God of my salvation;
on thee do I wait all the day.
Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies
and thy lovingkindnesses;
for they have been ever of old.
Love, Jim
Why leap to a mystical explanation when a far simpler and more
plausible explantion is available?
We don't have any knowledge that a "Lai Tsi" was known for the prayer
Paulji ascribed to him.
We don't even know if a "Lai Tsi" ever existed.
But --
We DO know of the Xian Bible's 25th Psalm.
We know Paulji was raised a Christian and knew of this Psalm.
We know Paulji had a long history of plagiarism, creative editing, and
outright lying.
Therefore, it's far more plausible to say that Paulji simply copied the
25th Psalm, changed a few words around, and said that a "Lai Tsi"
authored the words.

Why specualate this way?
What's behind the desire to make Paulji "right" here?

Do we know that for a fact Maha, or does the paper trail end with David?
I feel that the dialogue that was attributed to David, was in fact
creations (taken from Vedic sources) of the Jewish Priest craft many
centuries after David. For instance the one symbol that comes from
Judaism is The Star of David, which is really not The Star of David, but
an ancient Holy Yantra from Vedic days. It is the most divine of
patterns (most commonly known as The Blue Star) and represents Radha
(apex up, equal lateral triangle) and Krishna (apex down). Put them
together and you have the divine couple, the male and female counter
wholes of supreme divinity. So the question here Maha, is that if this
most holy symbol of Judaism is of Vedic origin, what else in the Bible
as well as the major and sub-stream Religions come from a more Vedic, as
well as other ancient tradition(s)?! It is a project that I have been
working on for many years and have come to realize that there is in the
last analysis no originally, there is only God.
In ECK,
George
Here the unusual claim, the extra-ordinary claim, is being made by
Paulji (and Bauman). Do they have any evidence at all to support their
claim? No, just mystical suppositions, which can be used -- though not
very plausibly -- to explain *anything.*
Does the paper trail end with Lane's reseach? In this instance,
apparently so, for there doesn't seem to be any paper trail indicating
that a Lai Tsi ever said anything along the lines of the 25th Psalm.

You can take the cross in all its forms, the swastika (an Eastern
symbol before turned around by the Nazis), the yin-yang symbol, and
many of the other symbols of the world's religions, examine them, and
you'll find they all speak of balance between Heaven and Earth, Male
and Female principles, and so forth. It's all very interesting stuff.
Can there be Vedic influences in the Bible? I guess it's possible.
On the other hand . . .
Chinese Masters of old generally didn't speak in the lyrical cadence of
William Tyndale.

In the absolute sense, It Is All One, to be sure.
But in this relative world, we still have to make distinctions based on
relative considerations.
What it all boils down to for me, in this case, and based on relative
considerations, is that I think Lai Tsi is a fictional creation of
Paulji's, and Paulji put some words in this fictional creation's mouth
that he found in the bible.
Having accepted that this is probably so, since there is no other
evidence to indicate that it's NOT so . . . I found that life goes on,
all is as it was.
Only the cheese is different.

Looks like your "Occam's Razor" along with Rich's need a little sharpening. Your explanations of this apparent
non-plagiarized passage is totally absurd. Maha hit it right on the head when he proposed Paul put these words into the
mouth of the fictitious Lai Tsi. There is no other way of looking at this.
And another thing Rosie, why don't you cite some other examples where in the "creative arts" especially in the world of
literature where there has been such a close repetition of verse that came from two distinct sources. You cannot. You will
not.
This sort of foolishness does not help Eckankar get followers. I propose that Paul was a scavenger. He digested just about
everything he got his hands on and regurgitated it as Eckankar. Nary an original thought in his little capped head.
