I am amazed, now, having met the man, that he is 76 , he doesn't come
across personally as that age at all, 65 at the most :-) Wonder what's
his secret ?

Hope you don't wait that long , Searles !!!!!!

Michael,

I expect I'd best get over to Ireland soon as I'm 60+ right now. The
men in my family usuall have another 15 to 20 productive years of life
after that. My father is 86+ and still getting around pretty well.

If I have the good fortune to meet Ambassador Rooney while I'm working
in the Washington D.C. area I'll consider myself as fortunate.

Not ever Irishman has to be a dignitary to be famous, Here's a fellow
who is a great example to all:

I met the gentleman in the Berkshire Mountains of Western
Massachusettes. He is quite a fellow. He's exactly like the main
character in his book (himself) and a joy to share a pint or three
with.

The Berkshires are a magical place, a kind of art colony, resort and
factory town area all at the same time. Their summers are brief but
glorious. Their winters are colder than the Cailleach's teat!
