neopaganism as a whole is at a low eb but Janet Farrar was on TV again
fairly recently as the face of neopaganism and the major pagan fests
and moots are organised by people downline from Janet Farrar. Their
trad seems to be the strongest in neopaganism in the country at the
mo.

I do . heheheh . They're not Irish , but try to patronise us !!!
Druids here have absolutely no time for them, but then our Druids are
the very antithesis too modern pagans , and not at all disposed toward
it !
Nor to a woman from the Streets of London - as Druid Ioson dePaor
told her to her face in Maguires at Tara back in 1996 , and though
invited to sit down at a table with her ( and Bone ! ) he remained
standing, silently and proudly -
And Ioson is a Warrior Druid - Bone did not even risk whimpering !
I heard about her TV appearance, anybody in the know didn't bother to
watch :-)
' Neopaganism ' sees us run for cover :--)
I was offered on TV many a time, agreed too appear on newss & news
programs only, as I have, on important issues only , no more, any
other appearances may be traps, more than likely, and calculated to
produce Druidry on air for fun - and , dangerously, as figures for
light entertainment !!!
Thus I refused a full hour appearance on an RTE Halloween Show a
couple of years back., I deputised Archdruid Brigid Eileen Ennis to
appear in my place on serious discussion programmes ( such as that
fabulous series , The Blackbird and the Bell ,produced and directed
by Tony McMahon ( personal friend of mine - Tony and Bartholemew his
brother are both Irish Traaditionall Druids ( we have our people in
RTE ) , we have decided not to make circuses of ourselves .
( Any TV, Radio interviews are looked upon with suspicion, appearances
are out of the question altogether, serious discussion interviews only
- and then we must have the right to film them simultaneously, or be
presented with immediate copies by the TV or radio station
concerned ) .
ALL newspaper and magazine interviews are subject to our solicitor
sitting in on them and being provided with full transcripts - RTE etc
know our form !!!
Druidry is in fact gaining ground recently - but it does not overly
concern us whether it does or not :-)
We prefer to quietly and silently consolidate, the wise way , and our
members feel much more at ease and comfortable with this as well, and
we serve them first , naturally .
( I copped on that they did not at all like us, particularly
splattered all over the media through the 90's , so all the above
precautions were brought in and introduced gradually, even Tara was
abandoned ten years ago in 1999 so as to avoid any media glare - it
did, and it does, actually stress out our members who want quiet lives
away from cameras and reporters, we photograph and film ourselves -
most professionally too ) .

( A campaign, such as the Tara Campaign, and our own Irish Peace of
Tara Campaign of 1997, are, of course, different matters entirely,
but, as you know, the Tara campaign fell apart at the seams - no Druid
was involved in any of the infighting either ! ) .
Also we prefer to direct our own campaign rather than join in
campaigns leed and directed by others who may have vastly different
agenda ( no names mentioned ) .
Also Irish Druids will not take part in ' non-violent' direct action -
there is no such thing ! And , above all, we are not organisers or
publicists, we just want to lead our own quiet and well-fulfilled
lives in Peace and Quiet .

Also, the True Seeker will find - every single Druid I know lives by
that precept, and having held this central belief since the early
90's , they are hardly going to abandon it now because of a Farrar
appearance , already forgotten . This type of one-off has no results
whatsoever, that's why we would only partake in serious intellectuall
TV debates like ' The Blackbird and the Bell ' , shown over six weeks
in one-hour sessions, chaired by the late great John Moriarty ( though
Tony & thought that John, rest him, was a bit too Christian ) - but
he was one of our better philosophers nonetheless .

Yes, I know, and they are purporting fraudulently to speak on behalf
of Irish Druids & Druidry too - for money and more book sales in
America on their present begging mission to the States, seeking more
and more money for themselves under false pretences .
Here in Ireland they have never contributed a tosser to any charity in
their entire lives, they are known here far and wide for their
meanness and greed, and above all their cheap patronising attitude
towards Ireland and the Irish .
They have nothing to do with us here, their own very neighbours in
Kells, County Meath, have wanted them out for a long time !
They are amongst the most undesireable of British expatriates in
Ireland today - Irish Druids simply want these professional hustlers
to stop using and abusing Ireland for money over in America and
elsewhere .
Ireland, the Irish People , and her Druids, ask all our genuine and
traditional friends across America, especially amongst our fellow
Irish in the States, and amongst all 44 millions of Irish-Americans of
Irish descent , to shun these professional freeloaders.
For they are a Curse on Ireland's proud name !
And an abiding shame on their own country, England .
