LOL,
Mum says,
Willow,
i understand the word, expound and your problem understanding it ,
lol.
Speller's like yourself should not concern themselves with the meaning
of words.
If you are serious about seeking a true Druid path,
I suggest you pay attention and really learn something.
The answer that you seek means YOU must,
"set forth on the path so you may explain in detail what you are
looking at".

It is common for young men to skip the learning and even the proper
initiation part and head straight for leading the sheep out of the
wilderness.

This pretty well sums up neo paganism.

Of course I have been at it all for only twenty six years and have a lot to
learn my own self.

I have learned one thing and that is to cherish humility.

Now say that again in your mother-tongue and we'll believe it.

That view would seem, "Narrow".
Have not been at the books for years, so not up on Thoreau's work.
As I said, i have been in the Field for many years and have certain
unusual natural skills regarding observation .

Thoreau, I must confess, though I read about him, I never read him.
Did I miss anything important. If so, fill me in. Thanks, Michael.

He could, probably does, feature markedly in the American (U.S.)
educational system, and was an anti-war non-violent direct action
inspiration to the anti-Nam marches, if I remember correctly. Lived in
a one-room cabin out in the wilds, graduate of Harvard, a sort of
American folk-hero. Known, but not on the syllabii generally, of the
educational systems throughout the British Isles. Basically, not one
of ours.. not bothered about by Hollywood or TV either. .

Cheers,
Michael.

I discovered he liked sitting alone next to ponds having a muse,
and that he also liked nature wild.he did like ponds quite a lot and
was not bothered about finery. I have a great fondness for ponds
myself.
eco's have a play by someone about him, Save the world theme.
I must read a bit more.

Thanks Mum, I'm now clueing myself up on Thoreau too, and I can see
what a huge influence he could be on American Druidry with his liberal
ideas and humble lifestyle in the wilds, and I'm beginning to see also
how he became such an instrument for Good for Jim and his folk.
Thoreau could fit into the American Druid Scene nicely as an Inspirer.
Especially among those Americans who want to be Druids, as it's too
much to expect them to take their primary influences from these our
lands most of them have never seen. Even people like Jim with Irish
ancestry need Inspiration nearer home. I am beginning to see clearly
now how he choose Thoreau, or maybe how Thoreau chose him...

Cheers,
Michael.

Hi michael,
Yes, I suspect he is responsible for illuminating many truths that had
been lost.
England's, green belt around London, may well have been inspired by
his words.
"Each town should have a park, or rather a primitive forest, of 500 or
a thousand acres,
where a stick should never be cut for fuel,
a common possession forever, for instruction and recreation."
I recognise that desirous dream myself, and grinned uncontrollably
when i read his words
"Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads."
Thanks for illuminating Thoreau for us Jim, i love nice surprises,
Thoreau "observed" with great skill.
and as i said, i have a thing about ponds myself.
So if you spot any "Pond" related observations bring them on.
Mind you, Please Note,
fishing about in ponds can have unexpected results,
watering holes are often places where the drinkers get eaten.

Anyone who believes with all their heart in a creator god is a fool.

Cheers,
Michael.

I am with anyone who is offended by genesis and the BS stories of a creator
god who created all on earth to only serve humankind.

My Druid teacher from the early eighties was from your country and he made a
big issue of loving and merging with all that constituted nature.

Another man, a Scott named John Muir is also my inspiration.

Unlike most so called Druids I find deity in all that constitutes nature and
am offended by humans creating the gods in their own anthropomorphic image.

I live in California where the largest, tallest and oldest trees in the
world are. Forests and meadows are my church.

creator god(s) im well past that.
I have a thing about celestial balance musing along in my head.
I just love the abundance of signs in nature.
I have No idea what most of them mean,
but i am learning.
I already know its worth it.

He was but one of many to get beyond human ego on his quest for sacredness
and spirituality.

We humans are simply a part of the sacred web of all life on earth.

God is not manifest in nature. "Nature, including humankind is god."

We all need to recognize this and live acordingly.
