We wondered why he was working with Obama before the election. Now we
know:

In a Sumo match between you and Christie he would probably grab you and
toss you out in the audience.

"Picture Alert! Chris Christie's Political Career Is Finished"

Finished? Unfortunately for New Jersey Democrats, looks like his
political career so far is cruising along nicely:

"Chris Christie cruising to re-election in NBC/Marist poll"
http://tv.msnbc.com/2013/05/08/exclusive-nbcmarist-poll-shows-christie-cruising-to-re-election/
"Incumbent GOP Gov. Chris Christie has a more than two-to-one lead
over state Sen. Barbara Buono, crushing the likely Democratic nominee
60% to 28% among registered voters, according to a new NBC News/Marist
poll released Wednesday morning on The Daily Rundown.
The Republican governor remains extremely popular despite the solid
blue nature of the Garden State. Christie has a 69% approval rating
among registered voters. Eighty-one percent approve of the governor’s
leadership on Hurricane Sandy relief efforts, and 56% also approve of
his handling of the state budget.
There’s virtually no good news for Democrats in the poll. Christie has
crushing advantages even among all the constituencies Buono should be
leading–42% of Obama voters are supporting Christie, and just 51% of
self-identified Democrats say they would back Buono. Christie is
winning independents handily, 64% to 22%."

HA, just wait. That picture along with what else he's done in the
past few days that I won't bother to highlight at this moment, will
shut him down as a serious contender for the WH as a Republican,

Won't bother to highlight what else he's done in the past few days, eh
Tracey?

Let's see - Christie came out as a climate-change denier:
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/05/20/chris-christie-joins-the-yahoos-says-no-proof-climate-change-caused-sandy.html
"Months after his state was ravaged by extreme weather, the New Jersey
governor is now publicly denying climate change. Expect more of that
kind of idiocy as he gears up for 2016."
Hmm, TeaPublicans usually lap that crap right up.

He stated Oklahoma Tornado victims deserved aid
http://www.politico.com/story/2013/05/chris-christie-oklahoma-tornado-aid-91749.html
"Oklahoma tornado 2013: Chris Christie says victims deserve aid"

He announced in May that he had had weight-loss lap-band surgery back
in February:
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2013/05/chris_christie_had_lap_band_surgery_was_the_new_jersey_governor_s_decision.html
"Chris Christie underwent lap band surgery over President's Day
weekend because the three-day weekend gave him time to recuperate, and
because no decision he makes can be free of some connection to the
presidency. The New Jersey governor checked in for the weight-loss
procedure under an assumed name and he was out later that Saturday. He
only told his chief of staff. He informed the rest of his staff
yesterday—along with the New York Post."

Aha! I found it - Christie doesn't like the "Jersey Shore"
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/24/snooki-chris-christie_n_3333211.html
"New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was never a fan of MTV's "Jersey
Shore," saying it unfairly cast the state in a negative light."
<snip>
"After they parted ways, Snooki looked at the camera and said, "He
just doesn't like us."

I guess I shouldn't have doubted Tracey after all...

• I used work at Raytheon. One of the component buyers looked a lot like
Christie plus about 50-lbs. His name was Sheldon P. He brought his lunch
to work in a paper grocery bag. Standard fare was a stack of c. 6
sandwiches, each of which he downed in three chomps while he played
pinochle.
