People are listed over and over again in varios languages. Can anyone
make sense of this mess?:
I’m going to put numbers next to the info I think might actually be a
parish, whether or not they have buildings. I am going to assume that
if you have to call someone to find out where there MIGHT be a
service, that a parish is really not organized. I am generally going
to give the benefit of the doubt. I’ve come up with a feeling there
are 15 organized groups approximating the two or three gathered
together in His name.
Jurisdictionalism is ugly, but so is getting cavalier with the
canons. However heartfelt the decisionmaking for the formation of the
ROCA initially from the ROCOR ( one website for a supposed parish is
only a photograph of an icon of a former ROCOR bishop as if he is a
saint. The gilding on the halo looks pretty fresh)

Kinda pathetic. Buncha old men muttering in their beards, as if their
life-long obsessions were somehow in the least bit relevant in today's
world. Either that, or these are outright scams to raise money for
some social parasites.
Not, in at least a couple of cases. I am acquainted with Fr. Vladimir
Anderson: in the mid-1990s he substituted for my parish priest, Fr.
John, on a few occasions when Fr. John and his wife went on vacation or
to a conference. He's old, but by no means an old man muttering in his
beard. ;) He's certainly not a scammer.
I also know Fr. Gregory Williams in Liberty, Tennessee. He and his
family run an Orthodox publishing house that produced many of the
calendars and daily liturgical material that my church in Sunnyvale
used. He's about my age (50). Fr. Gregory and his family were always
quite conservative and vehemently anti-communist. They didn't believe
that the Moscow Patriarchate had repented sufficiently after the end of
communism, and felt betrayed after the ROCOR hierarchy started talking
with them again in the early 2000s.
The original breakaway group from ROCOR at this time was significant;
I'd estimate it was at least 20% of ROCOR's active membership, and quite
likely twice that. Unfortunately starting a schism is much easier than
ending the process -- that original group has splintered into at least
four groups that I know of now. This is just one of them.

The one that's local here is run by people who used to atend Father
VIctor's parish...and got outrageous. They thinjk the ROCOR is
ecumenist and won't admit anyone who communes there. And that's
before they suggest what they think of the OCA...and then a step down
from that, the Greeks.
What are the other 3 splinter groups of the ROCOR? I haven't heard of
any others.

ROFL! I know. The people from a couple of these groups have told me
what they think -- sometimes repeatedly. I'm in the OCA now, after all.

There's the group you found, which is Metropolitan Agafangel's group:
http://sinod.ruschurchabroad.org/engindex.htm
There's ROCIE/ROCE-SOBOR, which is the group that Met. Vitaly headed for
years after retiring from ROCOR, and the group that one of my closest
friends was in before her death:
There's a group that is primarily focused on South America, whose ruling
bishop is headquartered in Glendora, California. I don't believe that
they have a web site.
Then, there's a group of churches in Pennsylvania that didn't like any
of the other splinters and (last I heard) went off on their own.
I'm quite certain that there are other factions as well by now.
Schism/factionalism is a deadly contagious disease. :/
