The Kingdom of a thousand years

"And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and
judgment was given unto them ..." Rev. 20:4. This
is the judgement seat of Christ, which takes the place
when Jesus comes.

Please, compare Matt. 19:28. "And Jesus said unto them,
Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me,
in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the
throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones,
judging the twelve tribes of Israel." And Luke 22:28-30.
"Ye are they which have continued with me in my
temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my
Father hath appointed unto me; That ye may eat and
drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones
judging the twelve tribes of Israel."

After God's judgement of wrath, yet, there will be people
on the earth. Jesus Christ and his saints shall reign over
them a thousand years. Accordingly, there are people on
the earth under these thousands years. During a thousand
years there are many generations, and the last part of this
time they number is "as the sand of the sea."

It will be a government, unique without a counterpart,
which has never before been on the earth. All members
of the Government have heavenly and immortal bodies.
The number of Government members can be counted
in many million. With such a Government on the earth
during a thousand years, many people may be saved.
They also must get resurrection after the thousands years,
and therefore, also the book of Life is opened at the last
judgement. Rev. 20:12.

People, who have a form of godliness but denying its
power, will not be alive after God's judgement of wrath.
2 Tim. 3:1-5. Jesus mentions nothing that the foolish
virgins are allowed to come in afterwards. Matt. 25:1-13.
Those who are not willing to obey the command of the
Lord in Rev. 18:4, they will be judged along with the
great harlot, and get the part of her plagues.

"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:
on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be
priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a
thousand years. And when the thousand years are expired,
Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to
deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the
earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle:
the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they
went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the
camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire
came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake
of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false
prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever
and ever." Rev. 20:6-10.

"For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made
alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits;
afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. Then cometh
the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to
God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule
and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath
put all enemies under his feet." 1 Cor. 15:22-25.

After the Kingdom of a thousand years, the last judgement
comes when all ungodly people rise from the death.

"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it,
from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and
there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead,
small and great, stand before God; and the books were
opened: and another book was opened, which is the
book of life: and the dead were judged out of those
things which were written in the books, according to
their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were
in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which
were in them: and they were judged every man according
to their works. And death and hell were cast into the
lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever
was not found written in the book of life was cast into
the lake of fire." Rev. 20:11-15.

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;
in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great
noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the
earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned
up." 2 Peter 3:10.

This is a very short summary of what that will take
place at the end of this age. From Jesus' coming and to
the elements shall melt. It must go thousands years.

God's Kingdom is not only a Kingdom for thousands
years, but it is an eternal Kingdom. In the New Jerusalem
Jesus Christ and his Government will reign forever.
Rev. 22:5.

Is this a drive by posting, or do you check back from time to time?

I've seen Allan occasionally respond to posts in this newsgroup. I don't
know whether he reads it, or was responding to a crossposted post.

His stuff is off-topic in here, but so is all of the political
discussion and *that* is a few orders of magnitude more disruptive than
Allan's behavior. So I mostly just ignore his stuff.

I wouldn't count on anything you post to be read by him, or have any
meaningful effect if it is. If you think that *other* readers in this
newsgroup would mistake Allan's posts for material by an Orthodox
Christian or that an Orthodox Christian would approve of, however, it
might be worth responding. I suspect that most readers here already
know what we would say to his premillennialism. :-)

I just delete his posts. He's a troll.

No.... Allan is a true believer -- just in something other than
Orthodox Christianity. He's also a proselytizer; Protestants of his
sort often feel obligated to proselytize aggressively because they
believe that Christ ordered His followers to do so. :/ As best I can
tell after years of observation, he's utterly sincere in what he posts.
That's 180 degrees off from trollish behavior, which is fundamentally
*insincere* and intended to cause flamewars, generally for the troll's
own amusement.

I would agree that any attempt to engage him in discussion or respond to
his posts will at best create a futile off-topic discussion, however.
I've got him killfiled, as I do so much in here.

OK. You're using s strict definition of "troll."

No, that would make Allan a "a dwarf or giant in Scandinavian folklore

hook used in trolling" (Merriam-Webster dictionary).

The second would be true if he actually replied to his postings and
attempted to "reel" us in. The first, I cannot verify.

We could, though, call his post "chum" and he is one who chums. This
would fit with the troll theme (second definition). There may be a
noun for it, I don't know.

I've seen Byzantines referring to 1452 as the end of the world before the fact.

I wish I had kept the ref, but I then thought it an odd distraction.

It would make the Turkish victory like a self fulfilling prophesy.

But it would also put us in the reign of the Third Horseman today.

I'd like to see that reference.

However, even without it, I suspect we are in the time of the Third
Horseman. The conqueror figure on the white horse would fit the growth
of
empires and huge kingdoms, the red horse all the rebellions and brush
wars
and major conflicts between empires, and the third horse is black, the
color
of oil, and is about some major economic thing incl. inflationary
prices.
Sounds like they overlap somewhat.

Death rides a "pale" horse. Pale is obviously not white, that one is
already
accounted for. I understand some medieval european paintings showed it
as
a kind of pale green, probably for lack of anything else to use.

But researching the Akhal Teke and related Turkish horses, I came
across a lot of "dilutes" the cremello and perlino, and the palomino
is
in the same category. The genetics involve a dilution gene. Also a
metallic
sheen to some coats.

The dilutes were absent or eliminated from many places, but when it
was written, Revelation would have had an audience that knew of
dilutes
and their presence among massacre happy armies from the north and
north east.

The death rider kills with the sword, famine and plague and wild
beasts.

Obviously all these times overlap a bit, we are probably not through
the black horse time yet and the pale horse time is starting to loom.

The Orthodox repudiation of chiliasm is only relevant to the idea,
that Christ's kingdom lasts for a thousand years, then ends.

"Of His kingdom there will be no end."

But such chiliasm is a misinterpretation of Revelation. The thousand
years is not a beginning and end of Christ's rule, rather, Christ
rules
from Second Coming on forever, but during that rule there will be a
time when the devil and all his angels are TOTALLY bound. Not just
semi bound and crippled like now.

Notice that from St. Peter to now, we are warned that the devil goes
about like a roaring lion seeking who he may devour, and the
believer is to be on guard, not assume that being baptized means
he cannot be approached or deceived.

Many holy men in Orthodoxy have had to fight demons. There
are warnings in their writings down to recent times, about the dangers
of spiritual deception or prelest. And this is not a new thing, as if
the thousand years of binding is gone, but rather, a continuity.

So clearly, the devil is not bound so that he cannot tempt mankind
AT ALL, Just crippled.

The thousand years, then, is a time when no one will be tempted
by the devil AT ALL. Not a trace. After the thousand years,
Revelation says the devil will be released to temp us one more
time, and those who go for it will be part of a revolt against Christ,
which will be put down, followed by a permanent total binding
of the devil and his angels.

Just as David was king all the time during the revolt by Absalom,
so Jesus remains king all along, and will crush the revolt and then
the Last Judgement. Then some kind of radical overhaul of heaven
and earth.

So it is not a thousand year kingdom, it is a forever kingdom,
But a thousand years in which no slightest temptation from the
devil is possible, followed by a brief temptation then an eternal
kingdom of peace without temptation.

This is something that seems to be missed by both the chiliasts
and the anti chiliasts.

You will find this sort of interpretation and futurist understanding,
on the part of early Church writers.
