We are not asking for money. As an effort to raise this however, I AM
writing a book about these children to show that it IS truly needed.
College is very expensive and most clergy simply cannot afford to help
their kids through college. As a result many brilliant future
soul-winners and leaders are lost by the wayside. What I am looking
for is ANY information on this subject. Statistics, information, true
examples, anything could be a great help. If you are a pastor or know
a pastor online, please have them get in touch with me either via
Email or through this (or other) newsgroup(s).
Once again, we are not asking that you send us money. Just
information. :) Thank you.

some ICC leaders make $80,000 a year. I think that's plenty help.
Those same ICC leaders probably made $50,000/year and $75,000/year
respectively in their secular jobs with a combined salary of
$125,000/year before being asked into the full-time ministry to take a
massive pay-cut.
BTW, Scott has no financial document from the ICC to back up his claim,
only a quote from a tape where Kip allegedly made an offhand remark
about it. As a current member of the ICC, I'm very happy with how my
contribution dollar is being spent and the excellent, hard-working
ministers employed by the International Church of Christ.

What's the going pay rate for those?
>Al Baird has a PhD in physics.
So what? Should that have an impact on how much he gets paid as a ICC
leader?
If so, I'll take my networking systems engineering experience and go
to work for Domino's. Think they'd fork over $34 - 40,000 for a
driver?

What is the difference between exaggerating and lying?
>What is the difference between exaggerating and lying?
Offhand, I'd say you exaggerate to make a point, and everyone knows you're
exaggerating.
Lying is with an intent to deceive.
But that's just my take on it.
>smlleecat asks:
I think exaggerating is taking a basic truth and expanding on it.
Lying is starting with no truth (or a kernal of truth) and then, with
deliberate intent, stating falsehood. It's a fine line, that really
only the person who's doing it knows. After all, they know themself
better than anyone else.

to follow up on my own follow up, I had another thought: <suprise!>
In the Army, we had a saying:
Q: "What's the difference between a war story and a fairy tale?
A: "A fairy tale starts out 'Once upon a time'. A war story starts
out 'This ain't no bullsh*t'
:) I know, I'm bad.
Now how are you going to tell war stories, golfing stories, and
fisherman's tales apart? ;>

-----------
The question is indeterminate. There are two kinds of lying and there are
two kinds of exaggeration. One type is good and one type is evil.
Ordinary lying and exaggerating are fundamentally evil practices.
However, lying and exaggerating--i.e., deceptions--for 'god's kingdom' are
not evil because they help to keep people from burning forever in Hell.
Rev. Sun Myung Moon--a.k.a. 'Master'-- expressed this idea in the
following quote:
"So telling a lie becomes a sin if you tell it to take advantage of a
person, but if you tell a lie to do a good thing for him that is not a
sin. Even God tells lies very often; you can see this throughout
history." (Master Speaks 3/16/72)
Rev Moon recently gave his offical seal of approval to Kip McKean's ICC.
(Moon claims to be The Second Coming. McKean claims to be a prophet. )
