The baptism by the Holy Spirit
does not take away the baptism in water
Many Christians have during the church history offered their
lives because of the truth of the baptism in water, and the way
of baptism. Satan's churches have persecuted, tortured and
murdered lots of Christians, just because of the truth of baptism
in water. Now a false doctrine has appeared, teaching that the
baptism in water is not needed. Did all these Christians offer
their life in vain, for nothing?
"There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one
hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One
God and Father of all ..." Eph. 4:4-6.
Naturally, "the one baptism" must be the baptism in water.
Nowhere in the Bible we can see that the baptism by the Holy
Spirit takes away the baptism in water.
There is also a theory that the baptism in water would be only
for Jews, but not for other people. Yet, many bible words
show clearly that the baptism in water is for both Jews and for
other nations.
Matt. 28:19.
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have
commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto
the end of the world. Amen. "
Mark 16:16.
"Then he said to them: Go forth to every part of the world,
and proclaim the Good News to the whole creation. Those
who believe it and receive baptism will find salvation; those
who do not believe will be condemned." (The New English
Bible).
In Acts 8:26-40 you can read how Philip with help of the
angel of the Lord meets a man of Ethiopia, and baptized
him in water.
36. And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain
water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth
hinder me to be baptized?
37. And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart,
thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus
Christ is the Son of God.
38. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they
went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch;
and he baptized him.
39. And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit
of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no
more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
Acts 19:2-6.
"He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since
ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much
as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto
them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto
John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with
the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they
should believe on him which should come after him, that is,
on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in
the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his
hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they
spake with tongues, and prophesied."
Observe, they became baptized in water again, now in the
name of the Lord Jesus. After that Paul laid his hands upon
them, and the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake
with tongues, and prophesied.
Acts 10:46-48.
"For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.
Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these
should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost
as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in
the name of the Lord."
This Gentiles became baptized by the Holy Spirit, and after
that they became baptized in water. The baptism by the Holy
Spirit did not make the baptism in water unnecessary.
1 Cor. 12:13.
"For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether
we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have
been all made to drink into one Spirit."
Here it tells clearly about the baptism by the Holy Spirit.
It is no difference between Jews and Gentiles.
Gal. 3:27-28.
"For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have
put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither
bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all
one in Christ Jesus." Here it tells about the baptism in water.
It is no difference between Jews and Gentiles.
1 Peter 3:21.
"This water prefigured the water of baptism through which
you are now brought to safety. Baptism is not the washing
away of bodily pollution, but the appeal made to God by a
good conscience; and it brings salvation through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ..." (The New English Bible).
