For over 50 years, Watchtower used the cross and taught that Jesus died on
a cross.

It was worn by Watchtower followers as a lapel pin, brooch or necklace
pendant in the same way Christians wear a cross as a symbol of their
devotion today.


Watchtower represented Jesus' death on a cross in Russell's 1914 motion
picture, The Photo Drama of Creation, slide 65.

It was not until well into the time of Rutherford that the anti-cross
teaching was developed.

Up until the October 1st 1931 edition, the cross and crown symbol was
included on The Watch Tower cover. This was removed from the cover of the
renamed
The Watchtower 1931 Oct 15 edition.

It certainly happened before we got the oldest NT Greek Bible
documents.

It might have been influenced by the first profest Christian ruler
Constantine the Great, History says that in 312 CE he had a vision of
a fiery cross in the heavens. But I am just speculating.

All I know is that the Bible word used in the NT that the churches
translate as "cross" is "staurus" and it means a single pole.

This is a mistranslation. The word "hellfire" here doesn't come from
the NT "hell" which is "hades".It comes from the Greek word "Gehenna".
So what is Gehenna?

The Greek word for "hell" in verse 47 is "gehenna", and draws its name
from the "Valley of Hinnom". In Jesus' day, this area was Jerusalem's
garbage dump pit. Things such as dead animals and bodies of executed
criminals not deemed worthy of burial, were thrown in it. A continual
fire was kept burning by adding sulfur, or brimstone. When dead bodies
were tossed in it, and did not land completely in the fire, worms and
maggots would infest the putrefying flesh. (I hope your not getting
ready to eat supper) No living people were tossed into it.

Notice this reference on it:

The New Bible Commentary (1965): "Gehenna was the Hellenized form of
the name of the valley of Hinnom at Jerusalem in which fires were kept
constantly burning to consume the refuse of the city. This is a
powerful picture of final destruction."

Thus, Jesus' listeners understood what he was getting at since they
were very acquainted with "gehenna".

Actually you have no idea what you are talking about with JW's. They
praise Jehovah day in and day out. They sanctify His NAME according to
Jesus' model prayer. Do you?

The righteous are those who obey God's word. Are they born with the
complete understanding of the Bible? It's like the Scripture says, his
Bible truths start out as "dawning light". As he gradually gains more
Bible knowledge, which includes correcting past errors, he continues
to "shineth" more and more.

But no one knows ALL the Bible truths. That won't happen until "the
perfect day comes. (likely at the end of this system of things)

The book of Daniel says that some knowledge won't be revealed until
the end times:

deceptive in language games to serve its own agenda. Here is the meaning
poured backward thousands of years to provide the jw vatican an excuse to

forced in 2000 years later to form the jw vatican excuse from thin air so
they can over and over again "pull their fat from the fire".

it is false; not one other word in scripture exists in support the above,
none. To adopt that idea poured backward into scripture is however warned
about in scripture. Romans; among many other such warnings:

1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie

The NT contains not one word that makes God an on again off again liar;
what blasphemy.

Paul writes in multiple places that the gospel he is teaching/writing is
from the apostles; a complete unchanging package. Jude one of them:

1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common
salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye
should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the
saints.

He did so warning of others to come who would say they had new unknown
knowledge required to make it complete. Other apostles encountered those
false teachings. All of their letters are to warn and correct the false
teachings, including any 2000 years later.

The jw vaticn says, hold on, the "old light" God was providing was either
incomplete or incorrect; He is providing "new light" to correct His past
old incorrect information. How does the jw vatican know, their leaders and
them alone recieve God's "corrected light". He did not correct "old light"
in the previous 2000 years, or He was a liar about the "old light".

I don't lie. I have a lot of weaknesses, but lying is not one of them.
I firmly believe what I say is the truth. (unless I get into humor,
