With Hughes's disgust at the generally bleak state of life in America came a
profound mistrust of religion, particularly directed at those people who used
Christianity as a cloak behind which to hide their oppressive actions. "Goodbye,
Christ" most explicitly conveys Hughes's attitude at the time. Where the call
for revolution was softened by imagery in "Tired," here Hughes unleashes words
of anger and bitterness which make clear his political posture:
Listen, Christ,

In the poem Hughes examines, or rather obliterates, the tenets set forth in a
supposedly Christian country. If a majority of Americans do indeed call
themselves Christians, why then do we witness so much suffering, so much
oppression? During the time in which the poem was written Hughes made a journey
to the Soviet Union and saw Socialism working, whereas in America, Christianity
had failed. Though resources in the Soviet Union were meager, Hughes notes the
fact that "white and black, Asiatic and European, Jew and Gentile stood alike as
citizens on an equal footing protected from racial inequalities by the law"
(Good Morning Revolution). Hughes thus called for a rethinking of dominant
American beliefs and an acceptance of the tenets of Marxism:

The southern Democrats must be thrilled by the news that the Communist Party of
The United States of America, CPUSA, is publicly supporting the election of John
Kerry.
The CPUSA has made available on its Web site, cpusa.org, an advertisement
entitled Top Ten Reasons To Defeat Bush. This advertisement can be downloaded.
The communist party urges readers to place this ad in local newspapers
throughout the country to defeat President Bush.
Remarkably, the "Top Ten Reasons" of the Communist party are identical to those
of the Democratic party; out-sourcing, homosexual rights, abortion and the like.
At first, I thought "this is only a coincidence." The Democratic party of the
United States couldn't be in lock step with the Marxists! So, I wrote to a
spokesman of the CPUSA in Georgia and here is part of his letter:
" The CPUSA supports the John Kerry campaign with donations and volunteer
effort. We believe that defeating George Bush is the single most important issue
this November ..."
Next, I discovered that one of Kerry's campaign themes is " Let America be
America Again."
This slogan was borrowed from a Communist poet, Langston Hughes. This is not
common knowledge to the average American.
"Let America be America Again" sounds good but is a rambling, gloomy poem.
Interestingly, another poem by Langston goes as follows;
"Goodbye, Christ Jesus, Lord, God, Jehova, Beat it on away from here now.
Make way for a new guy with no religion at all -- A real guy named Marx,
communist, Lenin, Peasant, Stalin, Worker, ME -- I said, ME!"
Then, if this was not enough to convince me that the Democratic party has lost
it, a third discovery!
A Vietnam vet group took a trip to Communist Hanoi to investigate a report that
John Kerry was in the "Hanoi Hall of Fame." Yes, there is a museum in Hanoi with
a section dedicated to foreign activists who help defeat the United States
Military in Vietnam. Of course, you would expect Jane Fonda's picture to be
there. But, alas, there is John Kerry's picture shaking the hand of a communist
official.
Never has there been such a tragedy.
Never has there been such a threat to America. The Democratic party has been
taken over by the far, far left!
Not only the communists but the homosexual activists who are appalled that
George Bush is married to a woman! They are enraged that the president wants a
constitutional amendment to protect traditional marriage between a man and
woman.
Then we have the ACLU running to a federal activist judge with every piece of
legislation that doesn't fit into their leftist agenda. They support every
Democratic socialist whim. The removal of the Ten Commandments is their top
priority!
Why can't our children read? The liberal NEA runs the government schools. You
can't mention God or the Ten Commandments, but you can teach Islam and have the
children pray to Allah and pass out condoms. The teachers union is solidly
behind the Democratic candidate, John Kerry.
How about the AFL-CIO? Solidly Democratic. How about the press? Solidly behind
the left.
Case in point: Viacom owns CBS and Dan Rather. Dan is really the president of
the American Leftist Establishment. Every night Dan informs the country what we,
the troops and the president did wrong that day. His boss, Viacom, just happens
to own the company that published Richard Clark's attack on George Bush and
company. Clarke was the hero of the 9-11 hearing. Viacom pushed up the
publication date of Clark's book to coincide with the hearings.
Oh, by the way, Viacom not only owns CBS and Dan Rather, but MTV!
Yes, the same MTV that featured Janet Jackson's breast at the Super Bowl half
time!
Hollywood? There might be one or two votes for Bush from the filmmakers. But
don't count on it. Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" propaganda film hurt the
president. Impressionable youth fall victim to lies.

John Kerry promises to save the union by going to the UN. Kerry may have to deal
with Muslim Kofi Annan's son, Kojo, who received "consultant" fees from Swiss
company, Cotecna, which oversaw Iraq's Oil-For-Food program. Some of the $10
billion that was funneled through the "family run" UN program ended up in al
Taqwa and Asat Trust, two of al-Qaida's front organizations. Funny, there are
al-Qaida in Florida and the UN, but not in Iraq! Alas, but who is chopping off
heads in Iraq?
While the bulk of our National Guard are over seas fighting terrorist, every
leftist weirdo is coming out of the closet to hi-jack the November presidential
election.
The question is: What are the "real" southern Democrats going to do?
Will they join the CPUSA, NEA, ACLU and a host of other radical leftist groups
or help save the country from this mob.

A Ho Chi Minh City museum that honors Vietnam war protesters features a
photograph of Sen. John Kerry being greeted by the general secretary of the
Communist Party, Comrade Do Muoi.
A snapshot of the display in the Vietnamese Communist War Remnants Museum –
formerly known as the "War Crimes Museum" – was acquired over the weekend by
Jeffrey M. Epstein of Vietnam Vets for the Truth, a group opposing Kerry's
campaign for the presidency.

Vietnam veteran Bill Lupetti took this photograph of a display at a Ho Chi Minh
City museum honoring war protesters.
A spokesman with Kerry's national campaign did not return a call from WND
seeking comment.
The snapshot of the display, which depicts a July 1993 meeting, was forwarded to
Epstein by Bob Shirley, one of more than 200 members of Swift Boat Veterans for
the Truth who signed an open letter questioning Kerry's fitness to serve as
commander in chief.
Epstein said the picture of the display was taken by Bill Lupetti, a Swift Boat
Veteran who currently is visiting Vietnam.
Epstein said the display photograph's "unquestionable significance lies in its
placement in the American protesters' section of the War Crimes Museum" in Ho
Chi Minh City, the former Saigon.
"The Vietnamese communists clearly recognize John Kerry's contributions to their
victory," he said. "This find can be compared to the discovery of a painting of
Neville Chamberlain hanging in a place of honor in Hitler's Eagle's Nest in
1945."
Below the display photograph are explanatory placards in English, French,
Vietnamese and Chinese.
The English placard reads: "Mr. Do Muoi, Secretary General of the Vietnamese
Communist Party met with Congressman and Veterans Delegation in Vietnam (July
15-18, 1993)."
Epstein's group says the exhibit refutes Kerry's insistence his anti-war
protests did not render support to the enemy in time of war.
"The Vietnamese communists clearly feel that the American anti-war protesters
were a very important force in undermining support in the United States for
American war efforts, a force that contributed materially to ultimate communist
victory in 1975," the group said in a statement.
Vietnam Vets for the Truth says it was established to organize a rally
publicizing "Kerry's lies" during the "Winter Soldier" hearings in the U.S.
Senate in 1971. The rally, called "Kerry Lied," will be held on Capitol Hill
Sept. 12.
The Swift Boat Veterans also have called on Kerry to stop unauthorized use of
their images in national campaign advertising.The group says only two of the 20
officers in one photo support him and 11 have signed the letter condemning the
candidate.
One veteran in the photo, William Shumadine, said Kerry's use of the photo "is a
complete misrepresentation to the public and a total fraud."

Why re-elect Bush?
Well, let's see. J. Kerry is backed by the Communist Party of America, and he's
in the Hanoi Hall of Fame. France, Germany and Russia would like to see kerry in
the White House. So, too, probably would bin Laden, Al Quida, and, probably, ole
Saddam Hussein himself. And, if you were imprisoned at Getmo, who would you be
rooting for?
Does any of this begin to ring alarm bells? If not, it should.
Tereza Kerry said "Europeans have lived with terrorism for years, and that
America should get used to it." Why should we have to live with terrorism? Who
has set Europe back upon its feet not once, but twice, because we could, we can,
and we did. And, that's what we need to remember about winning over terrorism.
It's either that or terrorism will rule us.

President. That ought to be a thrilling idea for democrats, to stand shoulder to
shoulder to the Commie Party as they campaign for this winner......

We've already seen that slogan on the banners in the background, flying proudly
in the wind.
In addition, we simply can NOT forget that John Kerry is in the Hanoi Hall of
Fame as a helper of their cause. His photo is near... Jane Fonda's, of course!
It's hard to figure out who Mr. Kerry really is. It's now publicized that he
wants to make sure veterans have a generous slice of his platform, because he
wants all of us to love him enough to vote for him. Wonder if he loves us enough
to admit the wrong he did so many years ago? Let's all work hard to search how
much Mr. Kerry has not worked for veterans! It's not hard to do because his
record is, so to speak, a matter of record. He's worked real hard to have a
record he's proud of.... we can let his record sink him.

On the campaign trail, Sen. John Forbes Kerry regularly mentions his Vietnam War
combat experience, during which he received three Purple Hearts, the Silver Star
and Bronze Star.
However, the Massachusetts Democrat doesn't like to talk much about how he
received the awards or the time after he returned home when he was rubbing
shoulders with Hanoi Jane Fonda as a much-celebrated organizer for Vietnam
Veterans Against the War (VVAW), one of America's most radical pro-communist
groups.
Sen. Kerry, the "noble statesman" and "highly decorated Vietnam vet" of today,
is a Far cry from Kerry, the radical, hippie-like leader of Vietnam Veterans
Against the War (VVAW) in the early 1970s.
Soon after Kerry, as a Navy Lieutenant (junior grade) commanding a Swift boat in
Vietnam, was awarded the Silver Star, he used an obscure Navy regulation to
leave Vietnam and his crew before completing his tour of duty.
After returning home, he quit the Navy early and changed the color of his
politics to become a leader of VVAW. Kerry wasted no time organizing opposition
in the United States against the efforts of his former buddies still ducking
communist bullets back in Vietnam.
Kerry participated in the so-called Winter Soldier Investigation where his
fellow protesters accused his fellow GIs of war crimes.
Kerry's betrayal of American prisoners of war, his blatant disrespect for the
families of our missing in action, Vietnam veterans, the military, his support
for communist Vietnam and his waffling over the issue of use of force in Iraq
proves he is a self promoting Chameleon Senator who cannot be relied on to
protect the best interests of the United States.
Although Kerry voted to support military intervention in Iraq he is now claiming
that he only approved the threat of force by the United States.
The Constitution for the United States of America declares: "The President shall
be Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the
militia of the several States when called into the actual service of the United
States; he may require the opinion, in writing, of the principal officer in each
of the executive departments, upon any subject relating to the duties of their
respective offices, and he shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for
offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment."

As a national leader of VVAW, Kerry campaigned against the effort of the
United States to contain the spread of Communism. He used the blood of
servicemen still in the field for his own political advancement by claiming that
their blood was being shed unnecessarily or in vain.
Under Kerry's leadership, VVAW members mocked the uniform of United States
soldiers by wearing tattered fatigues marked with pro-communist graffiti. They
dishonored America by marching in demonstrations under the flag of the Viet Cong
enemy.

Kerry ran for election to the U.S. House in 1972 during which he found it
necessary to suppress reproduction of the cover picture appearing on his own
book, The New Soldier. His political opponent pointed out that it depicted
several unkempt youths crudely handling an upside down American flag to mock the

John Kerry's war record
As Sen. John Kerry, Massachusetts Democrat, considers a bid for the White House,
Americans should know a few things about him that he might prefer go unmentioned
— and I don't mean his $75 haircuts.
When Mr. Kerry pontificated at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Veterans Day, a
group of veterans turned their backs on him and walked away. They remembered Mr.
Kerry as the anti-war activist who testified before Congress during the war,
accusing veterans of being war criminals. The dust jacket of Mr. Kerry's
pro-Hanoi book, "The New Soldier," features a photograph of his ragged band of
radicals mocking the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial, which depicts the flag-raising
on Iwo Jima, with an upside-down American flag.
Retired Gen. George S. Patton III charged that Mr. Kerry's actions as an
anti-war activist had "given aid and comfort to the enemy," as had the actions
of Ramsey Clark and Jane Fonda. Also, Mr. Kerry lied when he threw what he
claimed were his war medals over the White House fence; he later admitted they
weren't his. Now they are displayed on his office wall.
Long after he changed sides in congressional hearings, Mr. Kerry lobbied for
renewed trade relations with Hanoi. At the same time, his cousin C. Stewart
Forbes, chief executive for Colliers International, assisted in brokering a $905
million deal to develop a deep-sea port at Vung Tau, Vietnam — an odd
coincidence.
As noted in the Inside Politics column of Nov. 14 (Nation), historian Douglas
Brinkley is writing Mr. Kerry's biography. Hopefully, he'll include the
senator's latest ignominious feat: preventing the Vietnam Human Rights Act
(HR2833) from coming to a vote in the Senate, claiming human rights would
deteriorate as a result. His actions sent a clear signal to Hanoi that Congress
cares little about the human rights for which so many Americans fought and died.
The State Department ranked Vietnam among the 10 regimes worldwide least
tolerant of religious freedom. Recently, 354 churches of the Montagnards, a
Christian ethnic minority, were forcibly disbanded, and by mid-October, more
than 50 Christian pastors and elders had been arrested in Dak Lak province
alone. On Oct. 29, the secret police executed three Montagnards by lethal
injection simply for protesting religious repression. The communists are
conducting a pogrom against the Montagnards, forcing Christians to drink a
mixture of goat's blood and alcohol and renounce Christianity.
Thousands have been killed or imprisoned or have just "disappeared." The
Montagnards lost one-half of their adult male population fighting for the United
States, and without them, there might be thousands more American names on that
somber black granite wall at the Vietnam memorial.
As Mr. Kerry contemplates a run for the presidency, people must remember that he
has fought harder for Hanoi as an anti-war activist and a senator than he did
against the Vietnamese communists while serving in the Navy in Vietnam.

As a result, MoveOn.org conducted the first-ever internet early presidential

A total of 314,747 votes were cast. The top vote-getters were Howard Dean,
Dennis Kucinich and John Kerry. No endorsement will be made at this time because
no candidate got over 50 percent of the vote. Voters were asked to contribute to
their favorite candidate and $1.75 million in contributions were reported.
The field of Democratic presidential hopefuls is not monolithic. Rep. Kucinich
(D-Ohio) and Rev. Al Sharpton are playing a radicalizing role...
We should heed the remarks of Jesse Jackson at the Take Back America conference:
“Don’t be too quick to dismiss a candidate as unelectable. Stick to your
principles. Sometimes principles make the winner.”
...We do not see the defeat of Bush as an end in and of itself or as an answer
to the crisis of capitalism. But without the defeat of Bush in 2004 the damage

The Roger Nash Baldwin Papers document the life and career of Roger Baldwin, a
prominent and active American civil libertarian for almost all of his
prodigiously long life. Baldwin is remembered first and foremost as a founder of
the American Civil Liberties Union... He served as both its executive director
from its foundation in 1920 to his retirement in 1950 and as an advisor from
that date until his death in 1981. However, Baldwin cast his net much wider than
just the ACLU. During the 1920s and 1930s, he was involved with various
left-wing political organisations, including the Industrial Workers of the
World...
In St. Louis Baldwin became attracted to the radical political and social
movements that greatly affected his politics until the 1930s. He was a close
friend of the anarchist Emma Goldman and he moved in left-wing circles. During
the 1920s he joined the Industrial Workers of the World (I.W.W.), and in 1927 he
visited the Soviet Union, producing from his trip a book entitled Liberty Under

I would have guessed that few Americans know who Roger Baldwin was. Imagine my
surprise, then, when, while reading the book now reviewed, I found the following
letter to the editor in my local newspaper:
"To the editor: "The American Civil Liberties Union was founded in 1920 by an
unabashed advocate for Marxism and communism, Roger Baldwin. For many of its
early years, the ACLU's main pursuit was the defense of communists facing
government charges of subversion.... Ronald D. Bouman" [1]
I admit that I was impressed that Mr. Bouman even knew who Baldwin was. And,
though his letter was obviously skewed, he wasn't wrong on the facts per se.
Perhaps he had read Roger Nash Baldwin and the American Civil Liberties Union,
Robert C. Cotterell's recent biography of the man described at times as "the
Pope of the liberals."
...Following the Russian Revolution, Baldwin was enamored of the communist
experiment taking place in the Soviet Union and was quite vocal in his support
for those attempting to make Marx's communist vision a reality. While seemingly
contradictory, his double standard reveals the extent to which Baldwin's main
cause at the time was communism. He was not concerned with wholesale violations
of civil liberties by the Soviets, but he remained a staunch supporter of civil
liberties at home. Civil liberties, he believed, could facilitate the process by
which communism could bloom and grow in the United States. The struggle for
freedom of expression was tied, in Baldwin's mind, to the class struggle.
Baldwin was not even convinced that civil liberties could serve a genuine good.
As he wrote:
"[T]he fiction that constitutional American rights can be maintained through law
has been pretty well exploded. Everywhere the realization is growing that legal
rights are hollow shams without political and economic power to enforce them.
The road to industrial freedom is the way to all freedom" (p. 128). ... <end>

the founder, was the goal of ACLU. The Communists, remember, are atheists; they
hate Jesus because He represents another loyalty.
Another founder of ACLU was Elizabeth Gurley Flynn. Elizabeth just happened to
be General Secretary of the Communist Party. Elizabeth was a member of the ACLU
Board. Another ACLU founder was William Z. Foster, who also just happened to be
General Secretary of the Communist Party, and was another member of the ACLU

Communist Background of the
American Civil Liberties Union

The latest outrage involving the ACLU, covered by columnist Gregory J. Hand in
Enter Stage Right (7/2), is the rescinding of an invitation to Mr. Justice
Clarence Thomas to debate ACLU President Nadine Strossen at the Davis-Levin
First Amendment Conference in Hawaii this summer. Not by any means an isolated
incident, this is the latest in a long tradition of outrages going back to the
founding of the organization and should be viewed in that context. A brief
examination of the Communist background of the ACLU sheds light on an agenda
that seems to champion isolated portions of the Constitution for self-serving
purposes. They often take the Constitution out of context so as to champion
strange cases that seem to favor an outcome that reinforces authoritarian
government control. They more often than not favor the dictatorial concept of
appointed Judges creating legislation from the bench...
Anarchist Roger Baldwin founded the ACLU in 1919, after his release from prison
where he served a sentence for draft evasion, at a party attended by Socialist
Party notable Norman Thomas, future Communist Party chairman Elizabeth Gurley
Flynn, and Soviet agent Agnes Smedley. In 1920, Rev. Harry Ward, the Red Dean of
the Union Theological Seminary was Chairman, Baldwin was director, and Communist
publisher Louis Budenz, who would later go on to testify against Communism,
director of publicity. Other Communist and radical founders included William Z.
Foster, author of "Toward Soviet America," Harold J. Laski, Morris Hilquit,
A.J.Muste, Scott Nearing, Eugene V. Debs, and John Dewey. The 1930's membership
would include such radicals and change agents as Vito Marcantonio, Haywood
Broun, Corliss Lamont, and Bishop G. Bromley Oxnan. The 1940's roll would
include George S. Counts, Norman Cousins, Melvyn Douglas, Robert M. Hutchins,
and Freda Kirchwey. Most prominent American luminaries of the left were, and
are, members of the ACLU.
On January 17, 1931, the Special House (of Representatives) Committee to
Investigate Communist Activities in the United States issued a report which
stated the following:
"The American Civil Liberties Union is closely affiliated with the communist
movement in the United States, and fully 90% of its efforts are on behalf of
Communists who have come into conflict with the law. It claims to stand for free
speech, free press, and free assembly; but it is quite apparent that the main
function of the ACLU is to attempt to protect the communists in their advocacy
of force and violence to overthrow the Government, replacing the American flag
with a red flag and erecting a Soviet Government in place of the republican form
of government guaranteed to each State by the Federal Constitution…Roger N.
Baldwin, its guiding spirit, makes no attempt to hide his friendship for the
communists and their principles"
In 1935, Baldwin wrote the following in his college yearbook:
"I have been to Europe several times, mostly in connection with international
radical activities…and have traveled in the United States to areas of conflict
over workers rights to strike and organize. My chief aversion is the system of
greed, private profit, privilege and violence which makes up the control of the
world today, and which has brought it to the tragic crisis of unprecedented
hunger and unemployment…Therefore, I am for Socialism, disarmament and
ultimately, for the abolishing of the State itself…I seek the social ownership
of property, the abolition of the propertied class and sole control of those who
produce wealth. Communism is the goal."
Space won't allow further examination of the mountains of fascinating material
regarding the ACLU, so a follow-up article would be in the offing at a future
date. Suffice it to say that there is no reason to assume that the principles
and goals of the ACLU, set in place by its founders, have changed much over the
years. They have simply become much more polished and cagey in their
presentation... <end>

No one would oppose making America America again, but that would require
that America recognize Jesus Christ as the Lord of America as identified
in Article VII of the Constitution for the United States of America.

America was founded at the best union possible. It has never been
perfect, and probably never will be, but it is still the best, based on
the flood of immigrants wanting to get in.
But the way to improve is to continue to place its trust in God, not a
trust in instututions of men.
