"If you do not fast as regards the world, you will not find the kingdom. if you do not observe the Sabbath as a Sabbath, you will not see the father." [Thomas 27]
"Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. For He bruises, but He binds up; He wounds, but His hands make whole. He shall deliver you in six troubles, Yes, in seven no evil shall touch you. In famine He shall redeem you from death, And in war from the power of the sword. You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, And you shall not be afraid of destruction when it comes. You shall laugh at destruction and famine, And you shall not be afraid of the beasts of the earth. For you shall have a covenant with the stones of the field, And the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you. You shall know that your tent is in peace; You shall visit your dwelling and find nothing amiss. You shall also know that your descendants shall be many, And your offspring like the grass of the earth. You shall come to the grave at a full age, As a sheaf of grain ripens in its season. Behold, this we have searched out; It is true. Hear it, and know for yourself." [Job 5:17-27]
"But give heed; Blessed are they who have proclaimed the Son before his descent that, when I have come, I might ascend (again) <as 144,000?>. Thrice blessed are they who [were] proclaimed by the Son before they came to be, that you might have a portion among them." [Apocryphon of James]
"Woe to you (pl.) who lack an advocate! Woe to you, who stand in need of grace! Blessed will they be who have spoken out and obtained grace for themselves." [Apocryphon of James]
Search it Out
To use the words of the wise monarch
Solomon: "'Here is what I have found,' says the Preacher,
'Adding one thing to the other to find out the reason, which my soul still seeks
but I cannot find: One man among a thousand I have found, but a woman among all
these I have not found. Truly, this is only I have found: 'That God made man
upright, but they have sought out many schemes.'" [Ecclesiastes
7:27-29]
". . .For as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.' Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising. Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.' And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, 'We will hear you again on this matter.'" [Acts 17:23-32]
Jesus said, "I shall choose you, one out of a thousand, and two our of ten thousand, and they shall stand as a single one. His disciples said to him, 'Show us the place where you are, since it is necessary for us to seek it. He said to them, 'Whoever has ears, let him hear. There is light within a man of light, and he lights up the whole world. If he does not shine, he is darkness. Love your (sg.) brother like your own soul, guard him like the pupil of your eye. You (sg.) see the mote in your brother's eye, but you do not see the beam in your own eye. When you cast the beam out of your own eye, then you will see clearly to cast the mote from your brother's eye. If you do not fast as regards the world, you will not find the kingdom. If you do not observe the Sabbath as Sabbath, you will not see the father." [Sayings of Jesus 23-26, Gospel of Thomas]
Before departing, Jesus said to the disciples, "'If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also.
At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.'
Judas (not Iscariot--men who build a city) said to Him, 'Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?'
Jesus answered and said to him, 'If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. You have heard Me say to you, 'I am going away and coming back to you.'
If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, 'I am going to the Father,' for My Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe. I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me. But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go from here." [John 14:15-31]

The Armageddon
Prophecy
Hezekiah's Alliance with Egypt serves as a prophetic
model for the Battle of Armageddon contained in the 'The Revelation of Jesus
Christ' [Revelation 12:12-16]: "But if you say to me, 'We
trust in the LORD our God,' is it not He whose high places and whose altars
Hezekiah has taken away, and said to Judah and Jerusalem, 'You shall worship
before this altar’?'' Now therefore, I urge you, give a pledge to my master the
king of Assyria, and I will give you two thousand horses—if you are able
on your part to put riders on them! How then will you repel one captain of the
least of my master’s servants, and put your trust in Egypt for chariots and
horsemen? Have I now come up without the LORD against this land to destroy it?
The LORD said to me, 'Go up against this land, and destroy it.'' Then
Eliakim, Shebna, and Joah said to the Rabshakeh, ''Please speak to your servants
in Aramaic, for we understand it; and do not speak to us in Hebrew in the
hearing of the people who are on the wall.' [Isaiah
36:7-11]
King Hezekiah also had unpublished wise sayings of Solomon collected and recorded [See Proverbs 25:1-28]. There is every possibility that these sayings are pseudepigrapha.
Nathan - "He (that is, God) has given"
Commenting on the 'Council
of Rent' said: "Pretty straightforward presentation of Christ's
sacrifice making it possible for any who will accept His merit to be saved. They
are specific to mention that it is the merit of Christ's passion which allows
this grace to be extended to us." [Adventist Issues Forum 14 June
1999]
Herein lays your folly. . .at no time is the merit of grace dependent upon humanity. Why then are you pretending that you have a role in its manifest? Your role begins and ends with telling the truth about the manifest of Grace.
James' letter to an unnamed recipient [perhaps the Apostle Paul Saul-sha'al (meaning: To ask for, require, demand)] states that the apocryphon is written in the Hebrew alphabet, and mentions another even more secret apocryphon, which James has already sent--"Since you asked that I send you a secret book which was revealed to me and Peter by the Lord, I could not turn you away of gainsay (?) you; but [I have written] it in the Hebrew alphabet and sent it to you, and you alone. But since you are a minister of the salvation of the saints, endeavour earnestly and take care not to rehearse this text to many--this that the Saviour did not wish to tell all of us, his twelve disciples. But blessed will they be who will be saved through the faith of this discourse.
I also sent you, ten months ago, another secret book which the Saviour had revealed to me. Under the circumstances, however, regard that one as revealed to me, James; but this one. . ." [The Apocryphon of James I 1:8-35]
The apocryphon, which comprises the bulk of the tractate, records Jesus appearing to the disciples 550 days after the resurrection, taking Peter and James aside to 'filling' them, and giving them, in a series of speeches. His final and definative teaching, heretofore delivered only 'in parables.' He then ascends to the Father's right hand, with James and Peter unsuccessfully attempting to follow. This closes the apocryphon; the letter now resumes, and states that the revelation just given was meant, not for the disciples of Jesus, but for the 'children' who would be 'born' later. While the disciples believed the revelation, they were angry over these later children--"Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
'Behold, I lay in Zion
A
chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
And he who believes on Him will by no
means be put to shame.'
and
They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation." [1 Peter 2:1-12]
"Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen." [Romans 16:17-20]
James therefore dispatched them to other places. This presumably, is meant to explain why our tractate formed no part of the apostolic preaching. . ." [Introduction to 'The Apocryphon of James', Nag Hammadi Library in English] Or evidence of little understanding given to comprehending this tradition as evidence of a prophetic testimony by the prophets and Law of Moses, and the Psalms of David contained within the canonical scripture.
"I have copied this one discourse of his. Indeed, very many come to me. I have not copied them because I thought that they had come to you (plural). Also, I hesitate to copy these for you because, perhaps they have (already) come to you, and the matter may burden you. Since the discourses of that one, which have come to me, are numerous. . ." [Author Unknown - Scribal note accompanying 'The Prayer of Thanksgiving' Volume VI, 7 of the Nag Hammadi Library]
"Reports of the church fathers indicate that some of them were familiar with the contents of 'The Apocryphon of John' (the teachings of certain Gnostics described by Isrenaeus are very similar to the cosmological teachings of the present tractate). Though Irenaeus apparently did not know 'The Apocryphon of John' in its present form, it is certain that the main teachings of the tractate existed before 185 CE, the date of Isrenaeus' work: 'Against Heresies'. The Apocryphon of John was still used in the eigth century by the Audians of Mesopotamia." [Introduction to the Apocryphon of John, The Nag Hammadi Library in English]
". . .There is one petition that we ask: we would be preserved in knowledge. And there is one protection that we desire: that we not stumble in this kind of life. When they had said these things in the prayer, they embraced each other and they went to eat their holy food, which has no blood in it." [The Prayer of Thanksgiving VI, 7, 54:30-65:5, Nag Hammadi Library] [Note: 'The Thanksgiving of God' is the 'From Battle' Honor (Shachah) banner for the sixth covenant age.]
The
Covenant Ages
Let us reflect briefly on the Day of Atonement imagery of Azazel
which is described by the 'Yahad' Dead Sea Scroll Community as appearing during
the elapse of seven distinct ages: "The prophetic
interpretation concerning the ages which God made: an age to complete [all which
is] and shall be. Before He created them, He established [their] workings [. .
.] age by age. And it was engraved upon [eternal] tablets [. .
.]<"And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 'Speak
also to the children of Israel, saying: Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for
it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know
that I am the LORD who sanctifies you. You shall keep the Sabbath, therefore,
for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death;
for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his
people. Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest,
holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be
put to death. Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to
observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. It is
a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD
made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was
refreshed.' And when He had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He
gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the
finger of God." [Exodus 31:12-18]>[. . .] ages of
their dominion. This is the order of the so[ns of Noah to] [Abraham un]til he
bore Isaac, ten [generations]" [The Ages of the World 4Q180-181]
The Apostle Paul agreed, when he said: "But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory." [2 Corinthians 3:7-9]
In language reminiscent of the Apostle John's story of the woman allegedly caught in adultery, The Apostle Paul say's: "For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.
For we do not commend ourselves again to you, but give you opportunity to boast on our behalf, that you may have an answer for those who boast in appearance and not in heart. For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; or if we are of sound mind, it is for you. For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
Therefore, from now on, we regard NO ONE according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." [2 Corinthians 5:1-21]

A Wisdom (Qoheleth) instruction - The Preacher of
Ecclesiastes addresses himself to God's people and particularly the
young |
"Often the collections of proverbs are framed by what scholars call an 'instruction,' that is, the literary device of a wise sage instructing his pupils or his children in the ways of wisdom. Sometimes the instruction is patently fictional, and the sage that 'speaks' through the proverbs is anonymous; sometimes the teacher is a real historical figure, such as Jesus ben Sira, who wrote the book of Sirach in the 2nd century BCE. At least two compositions among the Dead Sea Scrolls are wisdom instructions, 'The Book of Secrets' and the longer work called 'The Secret of the Way Things Are'." You shall not bear false witness 'No one has power over the spirit to retain the spirit, and no one has power in the day of death. There is no discharge in that war, and wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it.' |

There was nothing that Jesus said, which was not spoken in parable
[Matthew 13:34]. Let me therefore interpret this secret thing for you
which he calls us to do: "Live the
law of faith as the life of God. Show forth the mystery of God's imperial
rule, by granting the example of Sabbath rest given you. Thereby you shall
give testimony to the Commandment of our Everlasting God–By loving your
neighbour as yourself."

"Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father's name written on their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow-akoloutheo (meaning: follow as soldiers, as stars on daily rotation) the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no deceit, for they are without fault before the throne of God." [Revelation 14:1-5]
Divine Election
in 6th Covenant Age - sha'al (Meaning: To ask for, require,
demand)
The picture which is
emerging from reading these prophetic testimonies, is that the jubilee year
calendar which underpinned Israel's religious practices, was in fact a
chronological prophetic timetable concerning a battle between good and evil in
which they were daily participants. Since God calls his people (through
Divine election) by name (not by 'lot' as the lie of the imitator-Apostle Simon
Peter suggests and demonstrates), the names of individuals participating and
their sequence in events appears to be most important. For example the
sequence of events recorded by Zardok indicates the importance of names (a
similar event occurs in the calling of the Apostles by Jesus and the delivery of
the Sermon on the Mount) In fact I would suggest that greater attention
needs to be given to this study.
The Scriptures give an understanding as to the meaning of the battle imagery contained in the Book of Chronicles. "Now these are the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. And Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children; therefore Eleazar and Ithamar ministered as priests. Then David with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to the schedule of their service.
There were more leaders found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar, and thus they were divided. Among the sons of Eleazar were sixteen heads of their fathers' houses, and eight heads of their fathers houses among the sons of Ithamar. Thus they were divided by lot, one group as another, for there were officials of the sanctuary and officials of the house of God, from the sons of Eleazar and from the sons of Ithamar. And the scribe, Shemaiah the son of Nethanel, one of the Levites, wrote them down before the king, the leaders, Zadok the priest, Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the heads of the fathers' houses of the priests and Levites, one father's house taken for Eleazar and one for Ithamar." [1 Chronicles 24:1-6]
There is a remarkable interpretation of the battle given within the Dead Sea Scrolls concerning events for the seventh Covenant Age-Commencing the first year: "The first line of this fragmentary work lists the priestly families, or courses that begins each quarter of the year. Apparently the author held the view, known from Jubilees and the Charter of a Jewish Sectarian Association, that the solar year of 364 days beginning on a Wednesday, comprised four three-month [30-30-31] seasons, each new season beginning with a sort of New Year's Day: "[At the beginning of the first year, the course of Gamul is serving; in the second is Jedaiah, in the third is Mijamin, in the fourth is Shecaniah, in the fifth is Jeshebe]ab, and in the sixth is Happizzez. These are the heads of the years: [In] the first [year,] Gamul, Eliash[ib,] Maaziah, [and Huppah. In the] second year, Jedaiah, Bilgah, Se[o]rim, and He[zir.] [In the third year, Mijam]in, Pethahiah, Abi[jah, and Jachin] [In the fourth year, Shecaniah, De]laiah, Jakim, and Jehoia[rib. In the fifth year, [Jeshebeab, Harim, Immer,] and Malchijah. In the si[xth year, Happizzez, Hakkoz, Jehezkel, and Jeshua.]" [Priestly Service as the Seasons (Ages) Change (4Q328 Mishmerot F)]

The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth." [Ecc. 7:1-4] |
"Wisdom is good with an inheritance, and profitable to those who

This is also vanity. Surely oppression destros a wise man's reason, and a bribe debases the heart. [Ecc. 7:5-7] |
"Consider the work of God; For who can make straight what he has

"'Here is what I have found,' says the Preacher, 'Adding one thing

The day, used of the natural day, or the interval between sunrise and sunset, as distinguished from and contrasted with the night 1a) in the daytime 1b) metaph., "the day" is regarded as the time for abstaining from indulgence, vice, crime, because acts of the sort are perpetrated at night and in darkness | Of the civil day, or the space of twenty four hours (thus including the night) 2a) Eastern usage of this term differs from our western usage. Any part of a day is counted as a whole day, hence the expression "three days and three nights" does not mean literally three whole days, but at least one whole day plus part of two other days. | Of the last day of this present age, the day Christ will return from heaven, raise the dead, hold the final judgment, and perfect his kingdom | Used of time in general, i.e. the days of his life. | |||||
The parable of Christ's own garment at cruficixion serves as a parable of this trickery: "Then they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: 'They divided My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.' Sitting down, they kept watch over Him there. And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him: 'This is Jesus the King of the Jews.'" [Matthew 27:35-37]
"But Jesus called them to Himself and said to them, 'You know that those who are considered rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." [Mark 10:35-45]
"They refused to obey, And they were not mindful of Your wonders That You did among them. But they hardened their necks, And in their rebellion They appointed a leader To return to their bondage. But You are God, Ready to pardon, Gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, Abundant in kindness, And did not forsake them. Even when they made a molded calf for themselves, And said, 'This is your god That brought you up out of Egypt,' And worked great provocations, Yet in Your manifold mercies You did not forsake them in the wilderness. The pillar of the cloud did not depart from them by day, To lead them on the road; Nor the pillar of fire by night, To show them light, And the way they should go. You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, And did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, And gave them water for their thirst." [Nehemiah 9:17-20]
"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. the ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish." [Psalm 1:1-6]
The 'Acts of Peter and the Apostles' contained within the Nag Hammadi Library demonstrate Peter's 'gospel' ministry to the Jews being predestined to fall into the path of inquity as the manifesting of the anticipated abomination of desolation, prophetically foretold by the principle figure known as 'Balaam', who loved the way which leads to the wages of unrighteousness-the second death: "The teaching [of the saviour], and [the revelation] of the mysteries, [and the] things hidden in silence, [even these things which] he taught John, [his] disciple.
[And] it happened one [day], when John, [the brother] of James--who are the sons of Zebedee--had come up to the temple, that a Pharisee named Arimanius (Arimaspoi Scythian word, meaning one-eyed) approached him and said to him, 'Where is your master [whom] you followed?'
And he [said] to him, 'He has gone to the [place] from which he came.'
The Pharisee [said to him, 'With deception did this Nazarene] deceive (pl.), and he filled [your ears with lies], and closed [your hearts (and) turned you] from the traditions [of your fathers.']
[When] I, [John], heard these things [I turned] away from the temple [to a desert place[. and I grieved [greatly in my heart saying], "How [then was] the saviour [appointed], and why was he sent [in to the world] by [his Father, and who is his] Father who [sent him, and of what sort] is [that] aeon [to which we shall go?]
For what did he [mean when he said to us], 'This aeon to [which you will go is of the] type of the [imperishable] aeon,' [but he did not teach] us concerning [the latter of what sort it is.]" [The Apocryphon of John, Nag Hammadi Library]
Parable of the Rich Young Ruler (Against Azazel & Raising of
Lazarus)
Jesus said to him, 'Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that
is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.' [Matthew
19:18]
At this point the author of 'The Apocryphon of John' is unmindful that Jesus told them where to look--the parable concerning the Good of the Father's: "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced from her husband commits adultery.
There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.'
But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.'
Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.'
Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.'
And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.'" [Luke 16:18-31]
False Prophets in Israel
In the document entitled
'False Prophets in Israel-(4Q339)'-"Inscribed on a small srap of skin found
amongst the 'Yahad Dead Scroll Community' were the names of eight false
prophets. Except for the last, all are known biblical figures. Why would anyone
want to compile a list of biblical figures in this way? Presumably they would
not; therefore, the reason for composing the work probably hinges on the
identity of the last--the eighth--false prophet. Maddeningly, the name is
damaged and cannot be read with certainty. Not to be deterred, however,
Alexander Rofe and Elisha Qimron have independently suggested that it should be
read as 'John son of Simon,' and this striking possibility does fit what remains
of the letters." [Wise, Abegg & Cook, p 323]
The names in Hebrew are:
John-Yowchanan (Meaning: Jehovah has graced)
Simon-goral (Meaning:
"Ordinarily, when the Hebrew term translated as 'lot' appears in the scrolls, it refers to the two groups into which all humanity is divided. In the language of the War Scroll [1QM, 4Q491-496], these groups are the Sons of Light and the Sons of Darkness. In this small fragment, however, the word 'lot-goral' appears to mean something different. It seems to refer to a literal division of wealth or rank. Four groups are involved, of which two are clearly identifiable: the sons of Aaron (priests) comprise the first group, and the fourth group consists of proselytes, converts to Judaism. A passage in the Damascus Document (text 1, Geniza 14:3-4), may shed light on the situation and on the identity of the two groups whose names are missing: 'All shall he mustered by their names: the priests first, the Levites second, the children of Israel third, the proselytes fourth.'
"[. . .] his wealth which was written after [. . .] [. . .] and great, he has a pedigree [. . .] [. . .for the pries]ts, the sons of Aaron, [first] lot shall fall [. . .] [. . .] each man according to his disposition, and the [third] lo[t is for the children of Israel. . .] [. . .and] the fourth lot is for the pro[selytes. . .]" [Laws Concerning Lots, 4Q279]
"[Indeed,] we [have written] to you so that you might understand the book of Moses, the book[s of the Pr]ophets, and Davi[d. . .] [. . .all] the generations. In the book of Moses it is written [. . .] not [to] you and days of old [. . .] It is also written that you ['will turn] from the pa[t]h and evil will befall you.' [Deuteronomy 31:29]. And it is writ[ten] 'that when [al]l these thing[s happ]en to you in the Last Days, the blessing [and] the curse, [that you call them] to m[ind] and return to Him with all your heart and with [al]l [your] soul' [Deuteronomy 30:1-2], [. . .] at the end of [the age,] then [you] shall l[ive. . .]

[Now] remember the kings of Israe[l] and consider their works carefully. For he who feared [the la]w was delivered from his troubles. These were the se[ek]ers of the law, those whose sins [were forgiv]en.
Remember David, he was a pious man, and indeed he was delivered from many troubles and forgiven.
Now, we have written to you some of the works of the Law, those which we determined would be beneficial for you and your people, because we have seen [that] you possess insight and knowledge of the Law. Understand all these things and beseech Him to set your counsel straight and so keep you away from evil thoughts and the counsel of Belial. Then you shall rejoice at the end time when you find the essence of our words to be true. And it will be reckoned to you as righteousness, in that you have done what is right and good before Him, to your own benefit and to that of Israel." [A Sectarian Manifesto, 4 QMMT: 4Q394-399, Section C]
For Zion's sake I will not hold My
peace,
And for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest,
Until her righteousness
goes forth as brightness,
And her salvation as a lamp that
burns.
The Gentiles shall see your
righteousness,
And all kings your glory.
You shall be called by a new
name,
Which the mouth of the LORD will name.
You shall also be a crown of
glory
In the hand of the LORD,
And a royal diadem
In the hand of your
God.
You shall no longer be termed
Forsaken,
Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate;
But you shall
be called Hephzibah (meaning: my delight (is) in
her), and your land Beulah
(meaning: married);
For the LORD delights in you,
And your land shall be
married.
For as a young man
marries a virgin,
So shall your sons marry you;
And as the bridegroom
rejoices over the bride,
So shall your God rejoice over you.
I have set watchmen on your walls, O
Jerusalem;
They shall never hold their peace day or night.
You who make
mention of the LORD, do not keep silent,
And give Him no rest till He
establishes
And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
The LORD has sworn by His right
hand
And by the arm of His strength:
"Surely I will no longer give your
grain
As food for your enemies;
And the sons of the foreigner shall not
drink your new wine,
For which you have labored.
And they shall call them The Holy
People,
The Redeemed of the LORD;
And you shall be called Sought Out
(meaning: to resort to, seek, seek with care,
enquire, require),
A City Not
Forsaken.

Dedication
There are several 'Stories
About the Tribes of Israel' (4Q371-373, 2Q22) which are officially designated as
'Apocryphal Joseph' texts. These texts convey a number of images of battles,
where God has vindicated himself against the vain glorious: 'Og of Basham',
'Goliath' and 'Zimri son of Salu' a character of the Exodus. [Numbers 25:14]
Also depicted is a triadic of the 3 sons of Jacob: Levi (meaning: joined), Judah (meaning: let God be praised) and Benjamin (meaning: son of my right hand or son of my south) contending (as a Spiritual Battle) against those who follow Belial and have abandoned God. These include:
Samaritans - "Moreover, Joseph was carried off into lands he had not kn[own. . .] among a foreign nation, dispersed into all the world. All their mountains [meaning: prophets 11Q13 Col. 2.17] were desolate of them, [. . .] and fools [were liv]ing [in their land], fashioning for themselves a high place upon the mountain, so as to arouse Israel's zeal. They spoke [insulting] wor[ds against] the sons of Jacob, saying horrifying things, even blaspheming the tent of Zion (Sanctuary). They told lies against them, spoke every sort of untruth, intending to enrage Levi, Judah, and Benjamin with their words." [4Q371-373, 2Q22 Portion 3.10-14]
Joseph's Repentance in Exile - "O Father, my God, leave me not foresaken, in the power of the nations. Render justice on my behalf, that the poor and oppressed should not perish. You need no nation or people-need not the slightest help. Your mere finger is bigger, stronger, than anything on earth. Surely You prove what is true; no wrongdoing resides with You. My land [has been taken] from me, from all my brothers who have joined me. An enemy people dwells in it, sp[eaking horrifying things, taunting, blas]pheming, reviling all who love You, even Jacob. They anger Le[vi, Judah, and Benjamin with their lying words. . .]" [4Q371-373, 2Q22 Portion 3.16-21]
What possibly could have brought on Joseph's repentance. The answer is characterised within the Damascus Document concerning the captives of Joseph who went out of the land of Judah and dwelt in the land of Damascus. The Damascus Document appears to follow the Levitical prophetic tradition genre of performing (rehearsing) ". . .how God has always judged the wicked and rewarded the faithful throughout the history of Israel."--"Now on the twenty-fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, in sackcloth, and with dust on their heads. Then those of Israelite lineage separated themselves from all foreigners; and they stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers. And they stood up in their place and read from the Book of the Law of the LORD their God for one-fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the LORD their God.
Then:
stood on the stairs of the Levites and cried out with a loud voice to the LORD their God. And the Levites (meaning: joined),
'Stand up and bless the LORD your God Forever and ever! Blessed be Your glorious name, Which is exalted above all blessing and praise!
The Sabbatical aspect of the creation oral tradition is uttered as part of the Levite TRIADIC + OATH (Seven Times) prophetic tradition. It is used as an induction process during the ceremony for the renewal of the Everlasting Covenant experience. The participants within this process of covenant renewal, appear to synchronise the stages of battle also conveyed within "The War Scroll" as "The Rule of the banners of the congregation. . ." [The War Scroll, Col. 4:9-14]

the Levites
The tradition appears to be associated with the 'high priesthood'
and 'kingly' testimony and blessing given prophetically by Judah (Levite
- Judah prior to his death--"The scepter shall not depart from
Judah, Nor a lawgiver from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes; And to Him

names is given as follows:
"And David divided them into courses among the sons of Levi, namely, Gershon [9 houses], Kohath [11 houses], and Merari [4 houses]." [1 Chronicles 23:6] making a total of 24 houses.

"In the time of destruction of the land the Boundary-Shifters appeared and led Israel astray [See also on Judah's drunkenness and Canaanite wife as Model for Triadic of Iniquity: Er, Onan and Tamar] and the land was devasted, for they had spoken rebellion against the commandments of God through Moses and also through the anointed of the spirit; and they prophesied falsehood to turn Israel from following God. But God called to mind the covenant of the forefathers; and He raised up from Aaron insightful men and from Israel wise men and he taught them and they dug the well of knowledge 'the well the princes dug, the nobility of the people dug it with a rod' [Numbers 21:18]
The Well is the Law, and its 'diggers' are the captives of Israel who went out of the land of Judah and dwelt in the land of Damscus; because God had called them all princes, for they sought Him and their honor was not denied by a single mouth. And the 'rod' is the Interpretor of the Law of whom Isaiah said, 'he brings out a tool for his work.' [Isaiah 54:16]. The 'nobility of the people' are those who come to 'dig the well' by following rules that the Rod made to live by during the whole era of wickedness, and without these rules they shall obtain nothing until the appearance of one who teaches righteousness in the Last Days." [The Damascus Document, Geniza A 5:20-6:10]
Joseph's Prayer
of Thanksgiving
Joseph's spirit filled prayer exhibits an understanding of the
relationship between the immutable Commandment of God and the unfailing
Testimony to it--"The time when You shall exterminate them
from the entire earth, when they shall be given [. . .] Then shall I arise to
work justice and righteous[ness. . .To do] what pleases my Creator, to offer the
sacrifices [of thanksgiving. . .I shall praise] My God, tell of His
loving-kindne[ss. . .] I shall praise You, O Lord my God, I shall bless You
for all [. . .] [the former things] I shall teach the rebellious Your statutes,
all who have abandoned You, [Your] La[w. . .I shall distinguish good] from evil,
that Your testimonies not reproach me, so to declare [Your] righteous words.
[. . .] Surely God is great, holy, mighty and fearsome, terrible and
wondrous [. . .His glory dwells in heaven] and earth, even the depths of the
abyss. Honor and [glory. . .] I know and understand [. . .]" [4Q371-373,
2Q22 Portion 3.22-31] [See also 'Rebellion in a Desolate Place']
Similarly, in the Last Days, it will only be those individuals who can conclude and accept the whole Bible as true, who shall ". . .sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: 'Great and marvellous are your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the saints (nations)! Who shall not fear you, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before you, for your judgments have been manifested." [Revelation 15:3-4]
Being a Spirit filled servant of the Lord God Almighty, causes some (presumably Joseph) to not only make remarkable claims to authority, but associate it with an Everlasting Covenant as Testimony to the truth and immutability of God's Word: "[. . .] I shall praise the Lo[rd, that] my meditation [might] be pleasing to Him [. . .] [and] heart, to teach understanding [. . .] judgment, for my word is [swee]ter than honey, [my] ton[gue] more pleasing than wine. [Every word that I speak] is truth, every utterance of my mouth, righ[teousness]. None of these testimonies shall fail, none of these fine promises perish, for all of them [. . .] The Lord has opened my mouth, the words that I speak come from Him. His word is in me, so as to declare [. . .To us belong] His mercies; He shall not grant His laws to another nation; neither shall He adorn any stranger with them. Surely [. . .] [A]braham, for He made a covenant with Jacob to be with him for all etern[ity. . .He promised that any enemy of] [I]srael should come to an end, to exterminate by the agency of the nations all who should touch the inheritan[ce of His beloved. . .] [. . .] He would avenge their shed blood. He put terror in the heart of Midian, e[nemy of Israel, for the Lord is our God,] He alone. Zimri son of Salu and five kings of Midian were slain [. . .]" [4Q371-373, 2Q22 Portion 4.4-12]
An interesting observation here, are the words: "I shall praise the Lord, that my meditation might be pleasing to Him [. . .] and heart." They approximate the interpretation made by the 'Yahad' Community of the Dead Sea Scrolls, upon [Psalms 45:1] which itself is connected the scroll called 'The Coming of Melchizedek. Compare: "["Zi]on" is [the congregation of all the sons of righteousness, who] uphold the covenant and turn from walking [in the way] of the people. 'Your di[vi]ne being' is [Melchizedek, who will del]iv[er them from he po]wer of Belial. Concerning what Scripture says, 'Then you shall have the trumpet [sounded loud; in] the [seventh m]o[nth. . ."] [Leviticus 25:9]" with: "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight-'oneg (From Hebrew: 'ng and Greek equivalent: malakos), The holy day of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words, Then you shall delight-'anag (From Hebrew: 'ng and Greek equivalent: malakos) yourself in the LORD; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the LORD has spoken." [Isaiah 58:13-14]
"Thus says the LORD: 'Keep justice, and do righteousness, For My salvation is about to come, and My righteousness to be revealed.
Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it; who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and keeps his hand from doing any evil.
Do not let the son of the foreigner Who has joined himself to the LORD Speak, saying, 'The LORD has utterly separated me from His people'; Nor let the eunuch say, 'Here I am, a dry tree.'
For thus says the LORD: 'To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, and choose what pleases Me, and hold fast My covenant, even to them I will give in My house And within My walls a place and a name better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off.
Also the sons of the foreigner who join themselves to the LORD, to serve Him, And to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants--Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And holds fast My covenant--Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.
The Lord GOD, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, says, 'Yet I will gather to him Others besides those who are gathered to him.'
All you beasts of the field, come to devour, All you beasts in the forest.
His watchmen are blind, They are all ignorant; They are all dumb dogs, They cannot bark; Sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yes, they are greedy dogs Which never have enough. And they are shepherds who cannot understand; they all look to their own way, every one for his own gain, from his own territory.
'Come,' one says, 'I will bring wine, and we will fill ourselves with intoxicating drink; tomorrow will be as today, and much more abundant." [Isaiah 56]
"To the choirmaster, on [Shosan]im. [For the sons of Korah, a wisdom psalm, a song of love. . ."] (45:heading). [This refers to. . .t]they are the seven divisions of the captivity of Is[rael. . .] "My heart is [astir] with a good message: [I address my poem to the king"] (45:1a). [This refers to. . .ho]ly spirit, for [. . .] books of [. . .] "My tongue is the pen of [an adept scribe"] (45:1b). [This refers to] the Teacher of [Righteousness. . .] God [gave] with an eloquent tongue [. . .]" [See Commentaries on Psalms 4Q171 Frags. 1-2 Col. 4:23-27]
Even the most thinking and aware today, would not understand the implication: that the interpetation of the Bible is without restraint, violent to the dignity of humanity and blasphemously in its construction of own oaths and traditions. They think nothing of placing them as conjecture (interpretation) upon the immutable Commandment of our God and the prophetic Testimony to it, given by Jesus Christ--"For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the book of life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." [Revelation 22:18-19]
The Apostle Mark speaks of the prophet John the Baptist as an eye witness to the Testimony and the servant of the Lord, "And John was clothed with camel’s hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts (those who gather in apostasy) and wild honey; And preached, saying, 'There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness. And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him." [Mark 1:6-12]
The Scriptures record John the Bapist's Testimony as "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." [John 3:36]
"You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, 'I am not the Christ,' but, 'I have been sent before him.'
He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease. He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all. And what he has seen and heard, that he testifies; and no-one receives his testimony. He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true. For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." [John 3:28-36]
The Book of Life--in which we each have a part--is a Testimony given to God's immutable Word as Commandment. God, as Father, has uttered forth his Word as oath (meaning: seven times). Not only does it serve as a history of the world--upon which its foundations lay. But it is a prophetic testimony, conveyed throughout all the ages of humankind. We are each given a part in it. And it is only when we cease to be Spirit led, that we are no longer a part of that prophetic Testimony. As the Apostle John said, "If anyone takes away from the words of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the book of life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." [Revelation 22:19]
Behold, this we have searched out; It is true. Hear it, and know for yourself. [Job 5:27]

Dear Dolf.
I actually tried to read most of your post. It is a
rambling thesis of misapplied and out of context subjects. There is no
flow to this post or many others of yours. Do you do this on purpose
or is it just to frustrate us? Please feel free to enter into
dialogue, at least your able to discuss things other than
homosexuality. These long posts just do not achieve whatever it is
you intend to achieve. (I have learnt this myself by experience).
Peace.

"The Word was made flesh in order to offer up this Body for all,
and that we, partaking of His Spirit, might be deified."
Saint Athanasius the Apostolic. 298-373 AD.
DOLF BOEK RESPONDS:
I attempt to minimise any conjecture upon the words of the author's own
inspiration. If they were inspired, then they ought to be able to speak
with one voice. Step back and read it as though it were one voice--a rhythm
of life--each contemplating the 'image' which they hold in part.
I use a consistent <TRIADIC> + [Seven times as Oath] principle as the basis
of my hermeneutic. If you are unfamiliar with the mechanics of this
principle, you will not comprehend it.

Indeed the Apostles were inspired and they did speak with one voice.
However, quoting non apostolic documents like the Protoevangelium and
Gospel of Thomas add the level of confusion and unstableness IMHO.

Well I admit my ignorance. Please enlighten me, I understand the use
of the word 'hermeneutic', however, have never come across "Triadic"
plus seven times as Oath-Whatever that means. Feel free to give me a
quick lesson on this hermeneutic and where you acquired it please.
Further, if this is the 'key' to comprehending your long posts, and
further, if no one (or very few at least) understand your method of
hermeneutic-How then do you expect anyone to comprehend what you are
posting?
I am trying hard to understand you, but you are a very complex person.
Enlighten me a little.
Peace to you.

Dear Dolf,
Greetings again,

Thank you for the quick spiritual guidance.

Indeed, this is as good as any place to continue. What then in your
opinion is 'the testimony' Was it the witness of the people of God OR
did it include the people outside who the people of God rejected as
heretics?
I notice that you totally ignored my request at explanation of your
hermeneutical approach. Did you do this on purpose? Did you forget? Or
is it that you refuse to discuss that obviously very important issue?
I am still trying to understand where you are coming from, but you are
making it hard. Please give a little here...
Peace.

He,who has neither the repentance of the Tax Collector, nor the good deeds of the Pharisee.
The character's name is Larzarus and I call the story 'Lazarus Come Forth -
The Armageddom Prophecy'. You'll find it at my WWW-page located at
http://www.users.bigpond.com/dolfboek
After you have read that prophecy, it is advisable to read [Psalm 22] and
onwards. You'll find there the story of Redemption. And if you want to
know how I know that I am correct. You may read the rest of my WWW-page.
I look forward to your response.
My hermeneutic principle attempts to resolve the question of gender and
sexuality inclusion within the experience of Grace. Women are equal to men
and Homosexuality is equal to heterosexuality in the eyes of the Lord,
because there is no difference--his rain falls on the just and unjust alike.
We have his Testimony as oath [seven times as Sabbath].
Those that say otherwise are contrary to the Commandment of the Everlasting
God and the faith of Jesus, which he promised to those who hear his voice,
'If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.'
YOU SHALL NOT MURDER - 'Where the word of a king is, there is power; And
who may say to him, 'what are you doing?'
YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY - 'He who keeps his command will experience
nothing harmful; And a wise man's heart discerns both time and judgment.'
YOU SHALL NOT STEAL - 'For he does not know what will happen; So who can
tell him when it will happen; So who can tell him when it will occur?'
YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS - 'No one has power over the spirit to
retain the spiirt, and no one has power in the day of death. There is no
discharge in that war, and wickedness will not deliver those who are given
to it.
HONOR YOUR FATHER AND YOUR MOTHER - 'Do not be hasty to go from his
presence. Do not take your stand for an evil thing, for he does whatever
pleases him.'
YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF - 'And this I have seen, and
applied my heart to every work that is under the sun; There is a time in
which one man rules over another to his own hurt.'
REMEMBER THE SABBATH - "Live the law of faith as the life of God. Show
forth the mystery of God's imperial rule, by granting the example of Sabbath
rest given you. Thereby shall you give testimony to the Commandment of our
Everlasting God--by loving your neighbour as yourself."
