Shakra Devanam Indra a.k.a. Taishakuten appears fairly prominently in the
second row of the Gohonzon, directly beneath blissful Anryugyu Bosatsu.
This presumably is the same Shakra mentioned in the last chapter (or
Epilogue) of the Vimalakirti Sutra.
Now there is the question of whether or not Shakra Devanam Indra is the
same as Shakra Devanam Rudra?
No one polite would ever answer yes, and the Rig Veda itself has a huge
bias of chanting in favour of Indra. The buddhists have followed suit in
their preferences, and even your friend tenji-mara maharaja does not
inspire the same fear as absolute terror reincarnated as Rudra. Only the
Tibetans even mention Rudra, likely because of territorial fighting.
According to yamakavyatyastahara, the Shakra is simply a man (perhaps
a woman) who helps with one hand and harms with the other--hopefully
not in equal proportion. I think it would be easy to make the argument
that Acintyavimokshaparivarta is a teaching protected by Rudra, and that
Indra wouldn't want anything to do with it.
Chas, here's a suggestion, which I think could really help you:
Instead of changing out Indra for Rudra, why don't you change out Indra
for Kannon? In the thousand armed from you could have 999 emails that
help and only one that harms. Wouldn't that be much better?

I never give nor receive alms from the icchantika/issendai/incorrigible disbeliever, simply because Nichiren Daishonin says not to. So, I don't notice when they are requested nor offered. Their purpose is to incur appreciation of and gratitude towards the demon inside that inspires their offering, or the other way around: a grateful demon feeling the love.

Thus, although the name is the same, the entity of Shakra/Indra in Buddhism could not be of greater difference to the eponymous Hindu entity.

Consider that Vimalakirti's lifetime goal may have been to prove that anyone who
appears to be an icchantika may still be good enough to redeem themselves, if
they only make a conscious decision to do so.
This means that Vimalakirti, though a master himself, would have ultimately to agree
more readily with the servant pramadeva that one should not miss the clear sky for
love of the clouds... even if it happens to be the night of a great thunderstorm!
What Vimalakirti called sickness, the mendicants probably would have called health,
"so great were the evils that it seemed as if the merit of everyone had been exhausted
all at once." ( http://www.khandro.net/deity_tale_of_two.htm ).
I wouldn't be surprised if your Gohonzon is hung upside down and instead of chanting
daimoku, you've been saying "kyo-myoho-renge-namu" all these years.
In fact, you might want to double check all your parity values, because your writing
looks wrong, much worse than anything I could come up with, having been accused
by a few big names at the university, of what I do not know.
