Hi People:
I answered one of those "Make Money at Home Selling WebTV" ads, and
I was sent a little teaser booklet. If I wanted the full information
package, I was to call and order a $35.00 package- MONEY BACK IF NOT
SATISFIED WITHIN 30 DAYS.
I expected it was MLM although the teaser booklet did not say so.
But I know WebTV is a good product and, rationalizing that it was
money back deal, I ordered.
I got the packagefrom futurenet- a video and a cassette, and the
application where you specify whether you want the $300 basic
distributorship, or the $600 super deluxe membership.
I reviewed it, and knew immediately it was a bad deal and I was going
to return it. I returned it by return-receipt certified mail 3 weeks
after I got it, and the return receipt which I got a few days later
showed the package was signed for the day after I mailed it. I put a
cover letter in the package explaining that I'm returning it for a
refund, with all contact information should there be a problem.
After three weeks with no refund and no contact, I wrote them a letter
asking that they either refund my charge account at once or contact me
with the problem. That letter was 2 weeks ago, still no contact or
refund. I now must write the Attorney General: Consumer Affairs
Division,
complain to the Better Business Bureau, and try to educate and enlighten
my fellow consumers as to my bad experience with Futurenet. WHAT A PAIN.
DON'T DEAL WITH FUTURENET, AND ESPECIALLY DON'T GET SUCKED INTO THEIR
WEB-TV DISTRIBUTORSHIP RIP-OFF! It seems self evident now that futurenet
is not interested in giving the refunds which they're obligated to give.
But you should really consider the following:
*You can get a WebTV box from many large electronic stores for a
fraction of what futurenet wants to charge. Why would any consumer pay
all the middle men in an MLM scheme when they can go the store and pay
half!!!* This doesn't paint a pretty picture of what your experience
may be as you pedal WebTV boxes through futurenet. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Since both the booklet making their offer to you and also your
acceptance of that offer passed through the US Mail, contact the
US Postal Service's Postal Inspector with a complaint of mail fraud.
Regards,
