By and large, we as a Nation have abandoned our task of teaching our people how
to quit their addiction, and turned the whole thing over to practitioners of
peculiar 12 Step religion. In this regard, the inmates ARE running the asylum.

And I mean that most sincerely, I really do.

Addiction for most people is a life and death struggle. Your interpretation
of Trimpey's message comes across like this
"Just believe Jack Trimpey. He's not a medical doctor and I don't know
about the validity of the Structural Model of Addiction but it should make
sense to anyone who was in 8th grade in the 1960's. Don't believe the World
Health Organization or the American Psychiatric Association. What do they
know? They only have medical degrees and doctorates. Believe Trimpey. He is
a Social Worker and attended an 8th Grade Health class. Don't fall victim to
the Grand Conspiracy. Government is only out to rule you and confuse you by
forcing you to go to AA and the doctors they train just want your money.
Trimpey just want your money too. But that's different because
............... hmmm, well just believe me on
that point too. All you have to do to recover from your addiction is accept
that you are morally defective and realize that you have been thinking with
your baser intellect you self-indulgent, ego-centric, narcissistic,
hedonist. Wake up, shape up and snap out of it! Just say no and you can be
just like me."
Compared to this *argument* the AA message could be the stupidest premise
ever and still make more sense.

I myself have had multiple college courses in neurology and neuroanatomy as well
as many in behavioral sciences, while I work in a hospital with many brain
injured people, and see ABSOLUTELY nothing in Trimpey's model that contradicts
anything I've learned. In fact, Trimpey's model makes perfect sense to me,
while I regard the peculiar Twelve Step religion as utter bullshit.

Didn't they try to teach you not to be gullible?

That's where it rubbed off on you from!!!

...but you believe that AA runs the military!!!
You are a cult member. And you don't even know it. You believe, and
defend, anything out of cult leader Jack Trimpey's mouth, no matter how stupid
his paranoid babblings are. That is THE SURE SIGN of cult membership, but you
are too brainwashed to see it.
DD, you are amazing. And dumb.
You are the perfect example of the fact that book knowledge and common
sense are two different things. And after your latest posts, I'm starting to
wonder if you have any book knowledge, either!
