I need to take a day to dig out of this mess. It's been a long time
since my house has been so bad that I'm humiliated to have friends over.
I sat there socializing with my friends this morning and wanting to cry
over the state of my place. It was horrible. I have to call off
everything else today and clean. I can't live like this any more.

Before pictures are at
http://pics.livejournal.com/serenecooking/gallery/00035sqx -- it helps
motivate me to post them, but it won't hurt my feelings if you don't
want to click.

Also, I've dropped the ball on a lot of other things lately, like the
arc birthdays. I will pick up the ball again now, unless someone else
has been dying to take it over.

Wish me luck.

With cancelling your activities and cleaning, you will soon be able to post
after pics! Once you get started, things will probably move right along.
I'm not sure if I am saying this to motivate you or me at this point as my
hallway is getting dangerous!

You can do it!

The challenge today is to maintain motivation, and not to go off on a
million tangents. Like Usenet. Oops. Back to work with me.

Thursday I took everything out of the hall cabinet
and wiped it down and tried to arrange things
better when I put them back

You can't have everything. . . where would you put
it?

Good job! Does it look better now?

For now it does, that's the problem with
housework, you keep having to do it again

Yes; I have been working on seeing it as a continual chance to show love
to myself and my family. I'm gradually changing my outlook about it, but
it's not an overnight thing for me.

Good luck Serene! (Your "before" pics *so* remind me of what my kitchen
looked like when I was struggling with this same thing.) You can do it!

BTW, SO is gone on a trip for work for a couple of days -- *so* tempting to
just let things slide for that little, but I haven't. The old demons are
definitely still there, though.
