This weekend, I seemed to wake up a little from my recent lethargy.
Interestingly, I had plans throughout the weekend and so I fit in some
cleaning/decluttering throughout. It seems to me that if the whole
day is free, I tend to fritter it away, but when my time is more
limited I can organize a little better. Of course, I tend to get
overwhelmed either way, but I'm working on that.

What I did:

- laundry: folded/hung up one load that DH left in the dryer. Washed
and dried another load; folded that (underwear) and put it all away
except some items on hangers that are still in the laundry room.
(They'll come upstairs next trip.) Put away items in laundry basket
that I had left in the bedroom; all laundry baskets are back in the
closet with the current dirty stuff in them. Yay!

- wrapped gifts for nephew's first communion which is next weekend.
This is big for me because now I won't be in a rush that morning, when
I need time to cook the item I am bringing for the luncheon after the
Mass.

- Subscribed to FlyLady. I decided I needed a kick in the butt and
from what people here have said, she is good for that. I since have
scrubbed the kitchen sink, and finished the laundry per one of today's
reminders.

- Gathered newspapers to bag for recycling.

- Emptied dishwasher, reloaded and ran it, then re-emptied it so now
only the few dishes we have currently dirtied are in there. (Usually
the clean/dirty sign stays on clean because we are reloading it from
the full sink of dirties.)

- Cleaned one bathroom sink and counter. I recently got contact
lenses again, and realized that the sink of the bathroom I do my
contact 'stuff' in was filthy. I put away various items that had been
left there. And, I hung up a framed print that I had bought several
months ago and has been on the counter waiting for me to get a hammer
and a nail. Every time I walk into that bathroom now, I am surprised
by the print and the neatness.

Congratulations on your improved bathroom. May I
ask, what is the subject of the print you hung?

One of the reasons I got trifocals instead of
bifocals years ago was I realized that so many
things need to be seen at arm's length.

It's called the Rainbow Fish, from the children's book by Marcus
Pfister. (you can see a picture of the fish if you look up the title
at borders.com or the like.) I love this book and have given it to
several of the kids in my life. When we moved into this house, this
particular bathroom was decorated in a beach theme: pink and white
striped wallpaper with a beach border, and shell tiles over the
bathtub. I kept the theme going by purchasing a shower curtain that
is a blue sky with white puffy clouds. I had previously hung a small
seascape painting that was done by a relative. I saw this Rainbow
FIsh print at Target and "had" to have it. :-)

I like this bathroom better than the half bath we have that was
decorated with pinstriped wallpaper and a Canada Goose border. I plan
to redo this bathroom this year. (No offense to fans of Canada Geese,
but they drive me crazy.)

I understand completely!
