Out:

* 2 earfuls of earwax - I can hear again! She (the nurse) didn't get much
out, apparently I have small ear canals but both ears were blocked. Not any
more - I can hear properly again! :)
* Loadsa wallpaper - have stripped most of the wallpaper in the LR and some
of the border in the bathroom - see first "In" item.
* A few bits of rubbish that blew into our garden - grrr, but at least we
get recycling bags blowing into our garden too! LOL

In:

* 1 huuuuuuuge tub of magnolia paint and just enough tools to do the job
(cos I know exactly what tools we have now - yay for decluttering!). We got
the ok from the landlord when he was fixing the fire to re-magnolia the
whole house (even the bits that weren't magnolia to start with!). As well as
painting I'm going to replace the (yucky) sealant around the bath, and
regrout all the tiles as the grout's a bit icky-looking.
* 5 much-needed magazine files I've been intending to buy for ages (for my
beading/x-stitch/craft magazines that I keep *and use* for the
projects/patterns). I got some nice plywood ones at the DIY store - they'll
be durable and I can paint them groovy colours. They were only £2 each, not
bad for wooden ones. Thought I might have one spare but I guesstimated just
right.

What with all the tidying/decluttering going on this house is gonna look
amazing! :D

Are you a Victoria Wood fan? Earwax always reminds me of them trying
to choose a topical issue for 'Acorn Antiques', the spoof of
'Crossroads'.

All the best with your decorating.

...stuff is just stuff. It can't love you, it can't take care of you. It is just something
for you to deal with--it complicates life. Brenda, arc 2004.

Thanks! LR looks better already, even though most of it still has the back
layer of the paper still on the wall - it was 80's(?) stuff with a subtle
pattern and a weird finish. I much prefer the plain walls.

I agree that these are a great tool - they're good for loose papers
you want to keep but not go so far as to punch holes and stick in a
binder.
They are the only suitable way I've found for keeping flimsy magazines
standing.
