The kids' school portraits came home last week, and I've been
procrastinating taking care of that. Well, this morning was the last day
to turn in the orders and payment, so of course we overslept.

I managed to get one order form done before the bus came, and DS had to
make a run for it. At least he finally got his shoes on!

Now, I have to go to school and turn in the other order form, send the
wallet-size photos to all the siblings (DH's and mine, 8 in all), get a
mailing env. to send the 5x7 to MSM, and buy frames for the 8x10s and
hang them on the wall.

Next, I have to make appts. for the 3 little kids. DD#2's preschool had
their pictures done on a Tueday, and she goes MWF, so she did not get a
portrait. Yes, I complained to the school. I have the Smile Savers plan
from Sears, so I'll get the other photos there.

Gotta go. Baby's crying.

Wendy, if you have a Wal Mart near, check there for portraits.
We had our family portrait done before VDFB went to live with her
mom, and it cost a whopping $3.95 for their Easter special.
Email me privately at piper at tampabay dot rr dot com and I'll
send you a copy so you can see the quality. It's not award
winning studio quality, but it's better than I can manage on my
own, and I just can't see paying $300 to dress her up in an angel
outfit and order from proofs (that's the rip off deal at the
local children's portrait studio).

Of course by the time we bought all the other poses and her plain
Easter portrait it cost a bunch more (I think we ordered $50
worth), but their $3.95 holiday package had an 11x14 or 10x13, 2
8x10x, and two sheets of 5x7 surrounded by 6 wallets, I think. I
think the normal price is $8.95 but often they're running a
special of $5.95 during non-holiday times, and if you can go
during the day you can take advantage of those $3.95 holiday
specials. There are no sitting fees or per person charge for
family portraits.

They will only let you get one portrait "sitting" at the special
price which is not great with your twins, but since their regular
price is so cheap who cares? Plus we paid an additional $7 and
got them on disk to email to friends, etc. and print out as we
needed.

When I worked in Durham (about 45 min. away from where I live), there was
a WalMart there with a great photographer. That's where all of DD#1's
pics were taken. I hate the WalMart that is near me now. Yuck! It's
always dirty and crowded.

I usually go to Sears - I have the Smile Savers plan - no sitting fee,
and frequent coupons for photo deals. There is a new place open at the
mall that I may try out. The last time I went to Sears, I didn't like the
photographer.

When they pull that only one at the special price game on you, I just have
them take one and then go to another <walmart, sears, penneys, wherever> and
get the other one done for their special price!

How frustrating! I also had a moment where my procrastination led to
inconvenience today. DD had to have a potted plant for school today. Earth
Week and they were going to plant them around the campus today. I put it
off and totally forgot until this morning. DH had already left for work so
I had to get 4 kids dressed and go to Home Depot before 7:45! Maybe someday
I will learn to not put things off, but I doubt it!
