A local bartender showed everyone a weird trick. Mix Bailey's Irish
Cream & Lime juice, and it turns into sludge. He said it's called
a "cement mixer". He said that if someone takes a shot of baileys,
swooshs it around in their mouth, then add a little shot of lime juice,
it will turn into blobs like rubber in their mouth. He said its a nasty
feeling but is harmless. He mixed a small amount in a shot glass, and
it got real thick. I wouldn't want to drink it, but someone did. Yuk!

Of course AA members wont touch this, but it was interesting to see.
Apparently the acid in the lime juice curdles the cream in the Bailey's.
He said lemon and orange juice also work, but lime works best.

Maybe this is a way to get someone sober. Drink enough of this and they
will never want to drink again! Beats going to meetings!!!!

FROM:
http://www.cementscience.com/2012/09/what-is-cement-mixer-shot.html

Following the information suggested by Google, cement mixer shot is a
kind of shot drink, usually consists of:

1 part Bailey’s Irish Cream (Other types of alcoholic Irish cream
may be substituted.)
1 part Lime juice (lemon juice may be substituted)

How to make a Cement Mixer Shot? below are two recipes for making Cement
Mixer Shot:

Cement Kicker recipe

1 shot Bailey’s Irish cream
1/2 shot lime juice
1/2 shot 151 proof rum

Fill one shot glass with Bailey’s. Fill second shot glass with Lime
and 151.

To Drink: Pour Bailey’s into mouth, do not swallow. Pour Lime and
151 into mouth. Shake head back and fourth, the shot will turn solid.

Serve in: Shot Glass

Cement Mixer recipe

1 jigger Bailey’s Irish cream
1 jigger lime juice

Hold one shot of bailey’s in your mouth, and take one shot of lime
juice. Mix rapidly in mouth by shaking head vigorously, then consume.

cement mixer shot

As showed by About.com, an interesting chemical reaction takes place in
a shot glass when a Cement Mixer is made. As the shot sits, the Bailey’s
and lime juice slowly mix together creating a thick slurry best compared
to cottage cheese.

Actually, cement mixer is a cocktail that has seen increasing popularity
among older college students, in an effort to prevent or discourage
underage drinking, by serving or offering it to a student who may be
lying about his or her age, as when not prepared the right way, the
curdling of the milk in the drink can cause an upset stomach, diarrhea,
nausea, and/or vomiting.

An important trick when drinking a Cement Mixer is timing: don’t wait
too long otherwise the mix will become too thick. Beyond this, cement
mixer is not a good tasting mix, consider it more of a gag shot when
playing this trick on someone.

The world is too colorful to be explored, even as a so-called cement
expert, I did not know a drink named “cement mixer” lies out there. Is
it funny?

That's enough reason to try something else. The only thing sweeter
tasting than that was an Italian liquer named Galliano. I hated all
those drinks that covered up the taste of alcohol with flavorings.
Schnapps was another one I avoided. The stronger alcohol taste the
better. Those flavored drinks are designed for sissies and women.

Just shows how out of touch you are with today's drinking scene. (Not
that that's bad).

The most popular drink in the bar where I work is called a Cherry Bomb.
Made from Cherry Dr. Mc Gillicuddys (spelling?) mixed with Red Bull
energy drink. Very sweet. The bar goes thru at least 2 cases of that
Cherry stuff every week, and lots of Red Bull and/or Monster drink.

The most popular shot is Rum Chata (expensive stuff). Then there's
Southern Comfort shots or mixed with soda. Malibu (sweet coconut
stuff), either in shots or mixed with soda or energy drink. Others are
UV Vodka, the blue raspberry being the favorite, (often mixed with
lemonade) and all flavors of Schnapps, and Fireball, which tastes like
red-hots candy, and those Pucker drinks like Apple Pucker. Blackberry
Brandy is also popular.

The bar has a mixed age crowd, but more younger than older. The younger
ones drink all that sweet stuff,

The older guys drink more of the traditional drinks like screwdrivers,
bloody marys and whiskey shots or blends, or shots of Tequila or Rum.
Nobody seems to drink a Martini or any of those drinks anymore.

I dont drink much hard liquor, just stick with beer mostly, but that
Cherry Dr Mc.... is very good, but I'd rather mix it with Coca Cola,
rather than that Red Bull, and that way I can make a very weak drink and
it's not noticable in brown soda. And that Rum Chata is quite tasty
too.

The good thing about all of this, is that most of these sweet liquors
are all fairly low in alcohol content. Rum Chata is 15% alc. Costs $4
per shot ($25 per fifth in the store). But there's a bad side to this
too, the stuff tastes like candy, so it's so easy to drink too much.
Not to mention expensive, because it takes many more drinks to get the
same amount of alcohol.

Drink choices have really changed in recent years, most beer sold is
lite beer now, and those who drink the regular beers are mostly older.
NA beer is occasionally sold, but not real popular. I drink more of
that when I'm working than anything else other than just soda. In fact
the bar owners said they are now ordering more NA since I work there.
But they're not complaining at all, because the reason I got that job is
because a former bartender got so drunk while bartending that he just
left people serve themselves and told them to toss their money on the
bar. The bar lost around $300 that night. He was fired the next day.

Recently I tried less than a half shot of straight Gray Goose Vodka,
which is an expensive vodka, and that alcohol taste really turned me
off. I dont like that taste anymore, nor do I like any whiskey.

I'm glad we have a bartenders guide, because there are some weird drinks
that people want, and I have to look them up. One was Apple Pucker and
Royal Crown, and I cant remember the name of it now. (It didn't sound
good to me). And one called a Slippery Nipple, which is Butterscotch
Schnapps and Bailey's Irish Cream poured over ice, and is supposed to
have whipping cream on top, but the bar doesn't have any. That is a
good drink. And there's a variation of that with Kaluia added.

So, I suppose the discussion will now be if the *REAL* Alcoholics drink
the sweet stuff or the stuff that tastes like alcohol, and between
regular and lite beer. Not to mention between mixed drinks and shots! :)
