Personally, I don't care, but in today's world it's hard for a public
official to keep their sexual proclivities secret. The problem arises
when you belong to the party that passionately fights gay rights on all
levels.

Yes, there's the lawyer reference, but before that "The accusations came
complete with text messages said to be between the two men as well as
compromising photos." Doesn't say /who/ made the accusations or what
exactly they were. IME lawyers don't usually speak on behalf of a
client without client approval. I'd bet they had a strategy meeting.

When you champion the party that advertises itself as the moral party
and in this case an immigration "border hawk" appearances matter as we
can see by his quitting his role as the co-chair of Mitt Romney's
Arizona campaign. Perhaps in a previous life sheriff Babeu was Roman
aristocracy. <g>
