HI Mark,
SCAT is basically a copy of a British racing machine. The company has
gone through a few owners. They were built in Miami, Florida, USA from the
mid 1980s to the early 90s. The company then went bankrupt and was sold to a
fellow in Singapore. I think they then built some more personal craft, but
they're now into larger commercial machines. You can see their current
profile on their home page:
http://www.planetwork.com.sg/intermarine/scat/ Are Kevin Bedsworth, Bill Flett, or Kent Gano lurking around? They were
some of the insiders that would know the complete story. I remember that it
used to be fun to have the Scat racing team at Hoverallies. Kevin and Bill
have formed a new company, Hovercraft Concepts, which produces a nicer product
than their former employer. You might get a hold of them on their web page
at:
http://www.hovercraftconcepts.com/ These and many more manufacturers are
linked on my page.
Have fun with your new toy. If you need replacement skirts/parts, you
can get quality service at St. Louis Hovercraft,

Getting cold down under yet?
