One thing I noticed when I was boot shopping that I found surprising.

Almost every boot was Gore Tex or some other "waterproof" type. By
almost I mean 95+%.

Anybody else notice that or is it only AL stores that think Gore Tex
is the thing to have?

Wouldn't buy non-GoreTex boots. Wet feet make for a miserable march.

I prefer some sort of waterproof type boot. Some find them sweaty or
hot. But I have few problems with my feet.

FWIW, I almost always wear a coupla pairs of socks, wool, with most of
my boots. One pair, I use two pair of inserts. YMMV.

I have found the same problem some type of cloth linining in every kind of
boot or runner it hides the sloppy cheap construction of footwear now on
the market, very expensive shoes , boots have no garbage lining e.g. Red
Wing etc. I guess you get what you pay for, and its not cheap.
