I am new to geocachiong. I have been wanting to get involved by
purchasing a GPS unit that works well with geocaching. At the same
time I need a new cell phone. I hear the i-phone works well but you
pay extra to get turn by turn GPS service. The Motorola Droid has
turn by turn for free............

Anyway's I am a complete novice at what to look for and what to avoid.
I use AT&T but can change to Verizon if need be. Texting is not very
important. Internet access is moderately important. Geocahing
important.

Any suggestions on good GPS enabled geocaching cell phone, or a
comparison link that I can use to educate myself on what to look for?

You will find that cell phone GPS isn't the best. You are better off
getting a hand held GPS, even one of the cheaper ones to use. You can
however use the web browser on the cell phone to check and log caches in the
field.
