We are shopping for our first fold-down/ pop up (half empty/half full)
trailer. After looking we have narrowed it down to either Starcraft or
Palomino.

The outer construction and lift system seem to be very nice on the
Starcraft. Not sure about the interior cabinets.

Any comments would be appreciated.

We purchased a Starcraft pop-up last year and we love it. We didn't get a
heater or A/C, just the basics, which gives me plenty of space to put our
dishes and other necessities. I do put those kinds of things in tubs and
crates, to keep them from sliding around during traveling, and In case we
have to take our tent instead.

We looked at everything we could find, Coleman, Dutchman, Viking, and so
many others that I can't remember the brands of. Other than the price was
right, we had to have something that 1) our six-foot tall son could sleep in
and 2) that I could put up with either no help or the help of an 8 yr. old.

I have a Starcraft. I can't compare it to a Palomino, but I can say the
Starcraft is great. It is nicely made, good construction and comfortable.
We got on with a big bed. I'm over 6 ft and I find it very comfortable to
sleep and stand in.

Bought it used. Great value. Found the documentation that came with the
camper to be useless. Have to figure out heaters, electric system on my
own.

We're on our 3rd season with a Starcraft that has A/C on the roof - the
lift system is
excellent. We regret the hasty decision we made concerning the floor plan
- we THOUGHT
we wouldn't want to climb over a 'chair' or 'sofa' to access the front
foldout bed - since
using it about 60-70 days in two years we think we goofed.
The cabinetry is holding up just fine.
We use the icebox as a breadbox ( should have got a reefer ).

Hey Gang!

We purchased a used Palomino last year. It's a Fold-A-Wall and we love it!
Since it's a 1986, the spring lift mechanism will not support a roof mounted
AC unit.

We have found the quality and durability of the Pop-up very good. It sleeps
seven (so they say), and with five of us we are quite comfortable.

Hope this helps!

Have a Starcraft for over 20 years...the same one. It shows it age but is
holding up rather well. The cabinets took lots of abuse from a family of 8 but
they are still there. Can't say much for Paomino because i have no experience
with one. Good Luck!
