Hi guys,

I'm planning a trip from FL to CO and I need to purchase a tent for camping
from the car.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a easy to set up tent that is
waterproof?

Regards

Check out the Khyam tents at http://www.khyam.co.uk.

It takes me about 2 minutes to get it out of the bag, unfold the stone
protection sheet (their name for a fitted tarp), erect the tent, and
put the stakes in non-rocky soil. Add an extra minute for rocky soil.
Subtract a minute if you have a helper. :-)

As far as waterproof goes ... People use these tents are for multi-week car
camping in the spring in the UK ... enough said?

I imported my Igloo to the US from http://www.outdoormegastore.co.uk.

You didn't mention how big a tent you want or how many will need to
sleep in it so it's hard to make a recommendation.

Having said that you might want to look at the "EXO" series from
Eureka! They have an external frame that really speeds up the setup
time.

I have a Eureka Timberline Outfitter 4 that fits that bill very well. It
sets up easily, is durable--I've had it since 1994--and has stood through
some extremely heavy rains without leaking. I did seal the seams per
manufacturer instructions. In hot weather, opening both ends of the tent
allows good ventilation. In cold weather, the addition of optional
vestibules to both ends makes for a comfortable residence. I've camped in
temps down into the teens with it.

I'd suggest buying a couple sheets of plastic, one slightly smaller than the
footprint of the tent for under the tent to help protect the bottom and
another to go inside to keep the floor cleaner.
