hehehahahahah people are so quick to label
how can a single person or TYPE of people get a group name put on
them......just cuz they all wear beads and go to raves.......they are "candy
ravers" if you listen to punk and go to shows yer "punk rawk" and if you
smoke lotsa reefer yer a "pot head"

Hippos45 your about three seconds away from feeling my wrath (hehe, sorry). I
think people are quick to label others for two reasons. The first is it is
fun. Oh yeah, It's a blast to make fun of people that are different from you.
The second is ignorance. yup, its a blast to make fun of things you don't
understand. But actually it was the candy ravers themselves who came up with
this name.

I feel we label because that's the only way people know and get a visual
for what kind of person you are discribing. example , if I say i met
this junglist , you will get a image of what i mean. I don't think
that's bad or good really it just to me seems like a way if explaining a
person , the person could be a million other things as well.that's just
one side of them , I never mean to say things in "labeling" way it just
gives some people a better idea of what you mean.

ummm actually i rather like the name candi raver, and if im not mistaken we
started callin ourselves that, its not like the media labeled us or somethin. i
think its perfectly ok to label ourselves. its when people start steroetyping
cultures as, inferior, stupid, unmotivated, etcetc. whats wrong with being
called a candi kid, or a pothead, nothin to me. im damn proud to call myself
either one. i respect the fact that maybe youd rather just be labeled as an
individual. shit sometimes i would too, but its human nature to put a label, or
definition, to everything. it better helps us define and understand our world.
it doesnt always help, especially not in social areas. but labeling isnt so bad
as long as people understand, that the more they label and judge others. the
more its gonna happen to them...... people just need to get over all these
petty differences so we can get on with our party......phive
